Chapter 640 We're Friends Now

As soon as Brando landed on the island in the middle of the lake, he loudly congratulated Saul.

"Congratulations on your successful advancement. Although I had guessed you would succeed, I didn't expect it to go this smoothly."

Brando greeted Thor, who came out of the wizard's tower to meet him, with the courtesy due to a companion.

The two went inside and casually sat down in the tea room on the first floor.

He and Byron accompanied him to the edge of the island in the middle of the lake, watching Brando board the wolf carriage and leave.

Thor quickly squinted and looked closely, and saw that Brando's helmet was suddenly lifted up by something.

A single eye suddenly opened in the gap, at the junction of Brando's nape and head!

When that eye opened, it revealed a seven-colored pupil.

It looked around as if it had discovered a new continent, but because of the angle, its colorful pupils could only move around its eyelids.

But soon, it stopped in the middle because it saw Thor.

Looking at that single eye, Thor felt a strange mix of terror and familiarity.

He raised his hand to protect his neck, as if he could feel the arteries beneath his muscles vibrating.

The blood coursing through his body felt like it was boiling, threatening to burst from his throat.

"Thor?" Byron put a hand on Thor's shoulder.

Thor turned around and, in a daze, saw a familiar face on Byron's face.

In the blink of an eye, the blood that had been rushing around had calmed down.

Thor turned his head to look at Brando again, but the other man had already entered the mushroom forest and could no longer see his eyes behind him.

"Your mental energy fluctuated greatly just now. Did something happen?"

"Senior, did you see the eye popping out from the back of Brando's head?"

Byron pursed his lips, remained silent for a moment, and then said, "No. So... Brando really is in some kind of trouble, is that right?"

Thor gave a wry smile. "I'm afraid it's not a 'point'."

This wasn't the first time he'd seen eyeballs emerge from people who came out of his consciousness.

The last time was after they fought Kent from Baidong Academy in the consciousness space. Kent jumped off the platform and died inexplicably. When they came out, Kent's body had mutated.

Brando's lips curled into a strange smile beneath his helmet. "Haha, you and Thor are friends, so we're friends too!"
