Chapter 639 No Man's Land

Chapter 639 No Man's Land

"Why can the Red Sea Tree calm the raging abyss?" Thor didn't quite understand.

"The high-ranking wizards at the time speculated that something existed at the very bottom of the Eye of the Abyss. It was something that was constantly driving the abyss deeper into the earth's layers, and in the future, it might even drill into this continent."

Even Gorsa's expression turned serious when the Abyss was mentioned.

"It is said that the No Man's Land was the place designated by the wizards as the likely location where the Eye of the Abyss might appear. Although the Eye of the Abyss has not yet appeared, and no one has been able to explore how deep it has gone, the No Man's Land has experienced two pollution outbreaks."

"The people of Stargate call this eruption a mini-tidal wave. Every time a mini-tidal wave occurs, a large number of people die..."

"Do you remember Bydon Academy, which left the No Man's Land?"

Thor nodded. "They say they escaped from no man's land."

Gorsa chuckled, "Their third-tier wizards back then were corrupted during the last minor tide, and eventually couldn't suppress it, so Clark drove them out."

"However, Clark, who was enjoying the resources left behind by Bydon, probably didn't expect that the next minor tidal surge would come so soon."

"Little Tide? Mentor, did you create that fake eye of the storm?"

"The false eye of the storm doesn't affect the existence of the true eye of the storm." Gorsa leaned back. "The appearance of the eye of the storm means that the anchor point is about to appear. It is said that the anchor point will guide the Eye of the Abyss. Every time the anchor point appears, it will accelerate the Eye of the Abyss's progress in breaking through the world. If the black tide pollution carried by the Abyss really erupts here, then the Tribunal and the Stargate Council will probably have no ability to resist."

"At that time, the connection between the three continents will be forcibly severed. The Tribunal and the Stargate Council will go from being responsible for defense on their respective sides to being attacked from both sides by the Black Tide."

Thor understood that if that situation were to occur, the world would soon be destroyed.

No Man's Land is like a water-filled balloon with a sharp spike floating inside, ready to burst at any moment and release all the water.

People enjoyed the coolness of the water balloons while also fearing they would burst.

Gorsa stood up and instantly folded away the large pink sofa.

"Alright, that's about all I need to tell you. If you don't want to die in the no-man's-land, get to Tier 3 as soon as possible. I'll give you a little push, but the rest is up to you."

Gorsa's words were cryptic and made Thor uneasy.

How is he going to push himself away?

The next second, before Thor could ask a question, Gorza's figure, along with his sofa, disappeared from the spot.

However, just as Thor casually folded up his sofa, intending to discuss the matter of advancement with his own consciousnesses, he saw Gorsa's figure reappear in the same spot.

"I almost forgot something." Gorsa extended his right hand to Thor.

Thor looked down and saw that Gorsa's right wrist was twisted.

The right hand was rotated 360 degrees, and it looked like a normal hand on the surface.

Thor had no idea how he had managed to maintain his posture without making a sound, so that Thor hadn't noticed anything amiss.

"I used some tricks when I killed Clark, and this is a side effect. I would appreciate it if Dr. Saul could help me deal with it."

Thor looked up at Clark. "Was this caused by pollution?"

Gorza nodded casually, as if he were not the one who had been corrupted.

Thor looked serious, because he could tell from observation alone that the contamination on Gorsa was similar to that in the No Man's Lands, but the source of the contamination was more powerful, or rather, purer.

But Gorsa has only been in the No Man's Lands for a few months at most. How could he be more corrupted than some wizards who have been in the No Man's Lands for several years?

Thor's index finger transformed into a translucent gray-white tentacle and touched Gorza's wrist.

The tiny suckers on the tentacles, like the mouths of small fish, were slowly nibbling at the air around Gorsa's wrist.

But as the suction cups expanded and contracted, tiny, jet-black particles were extracted from Gorza's wrist and then burrowed into Thor's fingertips.

In less than half an hour, Thor completely absorbed the black tide pollution from Gorsa's body.

When he removed his charred finger, the contaminant inside nearly infected his palm through the wound.

Thor immediately used magic to seal the wound and preserved the severed finger.

"Is the pollution in your body from the Kuroshio Current?"

Gorza nodded and smiled. "Yes, a very pure abyssal wave. You wouldn't bring something this troublesome if it weren't for doing something bad."

Good grief, you look so innocent, like you've "done something wrong," huh?

Thor was speechless. "I'll take this. If you continue to keep it in the No Man's Land, even though it's been banned, it may be contaminated again."

"I've accomplished everything I needed to do in the No Man's Lands, and I'll be leaving soon." Gorza pointed to the sealed bottle in Thor's hand. "But if you like it, you can have it."

After saying that, Gorsa's figure disappeared again.

Thor placed the sealed bottle into another box inscribed with a more powerful sealing magic circle to further reinforce the seal.

After doing all that, he reviewed the day's pit-breaking operation.

Unfortunately, the operation was too sudden, and he was not prepared to personally participate.

If it weren't for the clear understanding that Clark was definitely interested in the Nightmare Butterfly inside him, things might have gone awry.

"It seems I can never treat myself as a spectator again, because even people who seem to have nothing to do with me could drag me down at any time."

Penny has now emerged from the dreams about his past, but she is equally wounded and has now become a lifeless silver bookmark, dormant in her diary.

About half an hour later, Thor whispered to Camus, who was sitting motionless in the corner, "Professor Gorza should be far away by now, right?"

Camus looked up at the ceiling and said nothing.

Although Camus didn't speak, judging from her slightly relaxed demeanor, Gorza must have already gone far away.

Thor breathed a sigh of relief and then sat down on the soft stone chair next to the lab table, which was not a sofa.

"Mentor Gorsa disguised himself as a wizard of the Tribunal, secretly entered the No Man's Land, faked the Eye of the Storm, and then killed Clark."

"What exactly does he want to do?"

Thor had a feeling that his mentor, Gorsa, was here to cause trouble, but he was actually planning something much bigger!

After Gorsa left, Byron came out of the laboratory on the third floor.

He glanced at the basement with lingering fear. "They're gone?"

Thor nodded wearily. "Let's go."

"Would you like to rest first, or would you like to discuss this further?"

Thor rested his arm on the table. "Let me tell you what happened. Anyway, Pelle will probably be here soon, I'll wait for her."

However, until Saul finished recounting the whole story, from speaking only to Byron to speaking to the butler, Camus, and all the consciousnesses, Pale never appeared.

On the contrary, Thor waited for Brando on the third day.

I've been too busy these past few days, always working overtime, and haven't had time to update. However, I've sorted out part of the plot, and although we're not at the end of this volume yet, at least I've untangled some of the loose ends.

I will make up for the missed updates due to my leave of absence these past two days as soon as possible.
