Chapter 61 Rocky Out of Control and the Sparrow
Chapter 61 Rocky Out of Control and the Sparrow
After several bloody battles, Saul had figured out West Germany's modus operandi.
He still suspects that his encounter with danger in his mentor Katz's lab was also inextricably linked to West Germany.
If he hadn't been teleported back to his dorm by Pink, he might have run into West Germany, who came to collect his body.
"He sent Jenna here, and he can even have her die in front of me. He's paving the way for Rocky or others after him, giving them a clear motive to attack me."
"He must know now that I've learned a level 0 spell. To ensure there won't be any mishaps this time, he has to come and confirm it in person."
Thor looked up at Kongsa and said in as calm a tone as possible, "I can now cast spells, and I'm getting stronger and stronger. If he doesn't act now, he'll never have a chance."
Kong Sha's mind churned slightly, and several of her eyes flickered in and out of view.
"But all of this is contingent on the premise that this Jenna is indeed sent by West Germany."
Saul said, "I'm fifty percent sure. But I think that's enough. Even if I'm wrong, it'll only be a few afternoons wasted for you—our new apprentice's first test is in five days, and he'll definitely make his move before then."
Having learned many spells after the test, Thor is sure to become one of the best among the newcomers and attract much attention.
The risk would be even greater if West Germany took action.
"A few afternoons? You think I'm that free?" Kong Sha scoffed.
Thor looked troubled. "I'm sorry, senior, I'll figure something out..."
"How about the afternoon after tomorrow?"
Thor was taken aback. How could Kongsa be so sure?
"You should have already let West Germany know that I'm your backer, right? The day after tomorrow afternoon... is the day of my test."
Solton frowned immediately. "You mean West Germany will deliberately choose times when you're not around?"
"Of course, after planning for so long, he will definitely choose the best time."
Thor frowned even more, and asked through gritted teeth, "Could you ask your tutor to postpone the test?"
"That's impossible!"
"Can……"
"However, it's fine to do it a little earlier."
Kongsa laughed; she seemed to enjoy seeing Thor's anxious expression.
"Anyway, you don't need the second dose of medicine I provide, so it's no big deal for me to test it out for you beforehand."
Her eyes flickered, sometimes fixed on Thor's face, sometimes on Thor's left hand.
"...Good luck, good luck."
Thor let out a long sigh of relief, and his shoulders relaxed.
He lowered his head and raised his hand to wipe away non-existent cold sweat from his hair.
Two days later, on the second floor of the East Tower, in the third morgue.
Thor did not continue the experiment, but sat on the experimental table, absentmindedly flipping through the "Conjectures about Soul Carriers" that he had just obtained.
Although it was given to him personally by the author, who instructed him to study it carefully.
But now, as Thor looked at the silk book in front of him, his legs were shaking unconsciously, and his brain couldn't recognize what the words were.
Often, when you turn to the next page, you realize that you didn't understand the previous page at all.
He had no choice but to turn the page back.
"Knock knock knock!"
coming!
Thor's spirits lifted.
He hasn't gone to class in the last two days, and his travel and return times are irregular, all to draw attention to the morgue.
The wait was anxious, but now it's finally about to begin.
Thor calmed down, his legs stopped shaking, and his mind cleared.
He put the silk book away and got up to open the door.
Outside the door stood an incredibly haggard Rocky.
He must have not washed up for several days; his eyes were dark and bloodshot.
"What are you doing here?" Thor's tone was full of impatience and surprise.
But his left hand was already raised to his chest.
"You killed Jenna, didn't you?" Rocky stared at Thor, his eyes practically glued to Thor's face.
"No." Thor's expression darkened. "Who's spouting nonsense to you? Don't they know killing apprentices is forbidden?"
Rocky's eyes grew even redder. "Then why did I see Jenna's red dress here? What did you do to her?"
Thor paused, then remembered that Jenna had worn a striking red dress the day she came to see him.
But the dress had already been taken into the large trunk along with Jenna.
What did Rocky see?
Thor feigned impatience, pursing his lips, and said, "I already said I didn't kill Jenna, and I don't have any dress here. Who's spouting nonsense to you?"
But Rocky on the other side was completely deaf to Thor's words, only muttering to himself, "It must be you, it must be you! These days, Jenna has been blaming me for not finding her sooner."
Jenna? Blame him?
Was Rocky possessed by an evil spirit, or had he lost his mind?
Thor took a half step back.
But his move immediately ignited Rocky.
"Don't run away! Give Jenna back to me!"
Rocky pulled out a dagger from behind his back and stabbed Thor in the chest.
As it was swung, the blade of the dagger glowed green; it was even coated with poison!
Thor immediately raised his left hand to block Loki's wildly swinging arm, then quickly chanted a spell and threw a "Desperate Gaze" at him!
Unexpectedly, Rocky showed no fear this time. He simply took two steps back and swung his sword again.
This time, his movements were much more swift, and he kept repeating, "You killed her, you killed her."
He doesn't seem like the timid Rocky he used to be.
When Thor saw that the first spell had no effect, he immediately retreated. Behind him was the control panel. He grabbed the long stick on the control panel and swung it at the dagger coming towards him.
The staff was twice the length of the dagger, and it deflected the dagger with a single strike.
However, Rocky did not let go of the weapon. Instead, he used the momentum to release the force, and his arm drew a half-arc in the air before stabbing at Thor again.
This is definitely not the kind of power and skill that Rocky possesses.
When he last came to see Thor, even if he only had half his current skills, he wouldn't have escaped back in such a sorry state.
"Who are you?!" Thor circled behind the control panel, dodging Rocky's attacks.
Rocky grinned menacingly but did not answer.
He charged at Thor.
At that moment, the diary flew out with a whoosh.
Thor could only dodge while glancing at the rapidly appearing words on the diary out of the corner of his eye.
[May 23th, 314th year of the lunar calendar]
You are being attacked by an unknown consciousness that has descended upon Loki.
His dagger was engraved with a terrifying poison curse.
You were slashed in the chest.
You feel your internal organs melting, and you vomit mouthfuls of black blood.
After a long battle, you defeated the necromancer and thought you could finally survive.
But it's not over yet.
A new enemy has arrived.
A flying flint came from outside the door and landed at your feet.
You saw fire... and hell~
There are still people outside!
Saul immediately realized that someone else was preparing to attack him, and it probably wasn't West Germany either.
"A long battle? It seems we must end this quickly."
Thor rolled behind the teleportation platform and immediately unleashed a Strike on Loki.
The effect of attacking necromancers is much stronger than the Desperate Gaze.
Rocky on the other side was clearly badly injured; black smoke began to rise from his face and skin.
Their movements also became sluggish.
"As expected, I am possessed by a ghost. If it weren't mentioned in the diary, I probably wouldn't have used this spell so quickly."
After all, the Rocky in front of him looked like a living person.
It was hard to immediately realize that he had been possessed by an undead.
However, a single strike on the Necromancer cannot directly eliminate the enemy on the other side.
If the fight continues like this, it could really take some more time.
Thor couldn't wait; the cunning predator outside would soon appear, and he couldn't afford to be ambushed!
Loki jumped onto the teleportation platform, raising his dagger high, his face contorted with rage as he tried to pierce Thor's heart.
However, Thor simply pulled out a disposable wand from his sleeve, one that he had exchanged for many credits from Kongsa!
"The Frost Dagger!"
