Chapter 506 The Eye of Exile

Chapter 506 The Eye of Exile

Marsh struggled to control the horse.

The horses used by wizards are different from ordinary horses; their tolerance to radiation is specially enhanced during the breeding and mating process.

But even such a horse cannot withstand the corrosive influence of evil spirits and pollution for long.

Marsh himself grew increasingly uncomfortable amidst the laughter, and even the mushrooms on his head began to wilt.

He could only try to speed up, not even caring whether he would run over the faces that appeared on the ground.

Thor sat in the car, the algae on his body already covering the interior walls of the carriage.

He heard the laughter around him growing louder and louder, and then he was left behind by the carriage.

Thor leaned out of the car window and saw that the underground cave had disappeared from the road ahead, while laughter echoed behind him.

Once the laughter was left behind, the tense Xiaozao and Mash gradually returned to normal.

Not long after, a huge crack appeared on the mountain wall to their right, as if someone had used an axe to cleave the mountain all the way down to the ground.

The fissure stretched deep into the mountain, its depths unfathomable. But as the carriage passed by, Thor sensed powerful fluctuations of spiritual energy emanating from within.

There are probably a lot of evil spirits entangled here, and they are not on the same level as those we just saw on the road.

Morton: [Master, you can't go in.]

Sol nodded slightly and told Marsh to hurry through.

But as he passed the crevice, Thor still peered inside.

This time, he did not rashly use meditation, but instead observed the scene near the crack with his naked eye.

He took out a piece of paper and wrote down what he had observed.

There were clearly a large number of evil spirits inside this rift, but these evil spirits were hiding in the deepest part.

I don't know what's binding them.

The carriage once again left the rift behind.

Along the way, Thor passed several places that were obviously unusual. But with Morton's guidance, they were always able to avoid the most dangerous areas.

"We're almost at the exit of No Man's Land." Thor got out of the carriage and stood on the frame next to Marsh.

Marsh was so nervous that he couldn't make a sound when he opened his mouth; he could only nod heavily.

Agu: [The No Man's Land is a place without a unified order. The rules for survival here are complex. Here, formal wizards may face deadly danger, while some special ordinary people may live well.]

Morton: [In short, once you enter the no man's land, whatever you see, do not rush to approach. It is best to observe it, understand its patterns, and then make a plan.]

"Observe, and then find the pattern?" Thor remembered the two men's suggestion.

Then, the mountains on both sides of the canyon suddenly disappeared, as if they had been cut in two like a block of tofu.

Thor's carriage finally left the Valley of the Fallen and entered a new world.

"Where is this...?" Thor had been standing on the vehicle frame to protect himself from danger. But he hadn't expected that he would find himself in a vast grassland.

The grass is lush and green, and a gentle breeze is blowing.

The sunlight, which was originally blocked by the mountain walls on both sides of Chui Shou Valley, now shone down without restraint.

"Is this really no man's land?" Thor felt like something was off.

He squinted and looked closer. The grass and trees on the ground swayed gently, but there was nothing unusual about them.

But when Thor looked into the distance, he saw that the boundary between the grassland and the blue sky was somewhat blurred.

He carefully released his spiritual form, spreading it little by little along the ground. But the feedback he received was normal.

"The nearby area is fine, but the distance may be different. It's still unclear where the boundary between normal and abnormal lies."

"My lord?" Marsh, having escaped the eerie Valley of Drifting Hands, felt a sense of relief upon seeing the beautiful scenery before him. He turned to look at Thor, unsure of where to go next.

"Wait for me here. Don't wander off. If anything unusual happens, retreat to the interior of the Valley of Falling Hands."

"Huh?" Marsh clearly thought that the Valley of the Fallen Hands was much more terrifying than this place, but he was obedient. Despite his fear of the Valley of the Fallen Hands, he nodded and said, "Understood, sir."

Thor jumped off the carriage, thought for a moment, and took out a magical artifact he had never used before from his storage device, holding it in his hand.

The Eyes of Exile.

This was given to him by Kongsa before she died. She told him that if he found out that Gorsa was going to harm his soul, he should swallow this Eye of Exile. Although he would die, at least he would not have to suffer after death.

Thor initially thought the diary had led him to accept Kongsa's invitation because of the Eye of Exile. However, when the Wizard Tower rebelled later, Thor didn't actually use the Eye of Exile.

So later he realized that the diary's real purpose in sending him to the Elf Valley was probably to let him see the true face of the planet he lived on and to receive the half-elf's final gift, so that he could be promoted to a formal wizard.

If his strength did not reach that of a first-tier formal wizard, he would probably find it difficult to hold out during the Wizard Tower rebellion until Instructor Gorsa suppressed the corruption.

However, after Thor researched the matter later, he discovered that the Eye of Exile wasn't actually designed to corrupt people's souls. In fact, it had many uses.

It allows one to see the true trend of power and avoid being misled or disturbed by external disguises.

After Saul stepped down from the carriage, he lightly traced a line between the fingertips of his right hand and the palm of his left hand, causing a crack to appear. A few streaks of blood, tinged with a gray sheen, flowed down.

He placed the Eye of Exile on the wound, and the seemingly ordinary, albeit somewhat hard, eye quickly blended into the wound.

The bleeding stopped immediately, and the eyeball rolled around in Thor's palm. When the black pupil rolled back out, Thor felt as if he had lost control of his palm.

It was as if someone had ripped his palm off.

But when Thor tried to move his fingers, he found them flexible and unrestricted.

He raised his hand towards the distance, then gradually connected his spiritual power along his arm with the Eye of Exile.

Suddenly, the scene before Thor's eyes flickered slightly, revealing a third perspective. Even as the black eye moved uncontrollably, Thor himself could be seen within it.

But he wasn't the only one.

From the perspective of the Exiled Eye, Thor saw that he was surrounded by a rainbow halo.

Even in sunlight, the halos displayed a striking contrast of colors. These halos were constantly shifting, like the hot, swirling air above a flame.

From the perspective of his left hand, Thor could clearly see these halos right next to him, shifting their position from time to time, getting closer and then moving away.

He didn't know what these halos were, but he could feel himself being watched.

Thor squinted, controlling his curiosity, and didn't turn his head to look.

He opened the diary in his mind and turned to the page where he obtained the Eye of Exile.

The last sentence of that day's diary was:

Avoid eye contact with them.

"The price of using the Eye of Exile is that I can see things that I cannot see myself. Although I can see them through the Eye of Exile, I cannot look them in the eye."

As Thor used the Exiled Eye for longer, his own eyes began to vaguely see colors that did not belong to this world.

"The Exiled Eyes must observe the world, and at the same time, observe themselves. Once the halos of light drift in front of me, I must be careful not to meet their gaze."

Thor mentally summarized his experience, reminding himself of what he should pay attention to, then spread out his left hand and walked towards the grassland.

From the perspective of the Exiled Eye, he saw a village suddenly appear about 500 meters away.

Near the village, the grassland suddenly turned into brownish soil, and the two boundaries were connected very unnaturally, like misplaced puzzle pieces.

Chapter Two will be in the evening, hopefully before 10 PM.
