Death Wizard Diary.

Chapter 468 Case

Chapter 468 Case

"The Cleaner...what an awful name!" Penny flew around the sofa in circles, quickly making Xiao Zao, who was staring at her, dizzy.

Agu, who was also out but to a different destination, sat on the sofa opposite Saul, keeping a watchful eye on things at home.

"They've already needed to organize special teams to cleanse the evil spirits. It seems the problems within Archist and the Beverly Academy are more serious than we imagined," Agu analyzed with a frown.

An's eyes darted around, as if she had remembered something.

"It's not a good thing for ordinary people to have long-term contact with witchcraft materials and props."

"I also asked Dean Pound about this," Thor said, his head still down, looking at the documents he had just received. "He said that there's a barrier between ordinary people's workplaces and wizards' workplaces to prevent the radiation of magic and mental energy. The most dangerous jobs require people to take a certain potion every day."

Thor raised his hand and waved the documents in his hand. "Their anti-radiation medicine is also sold to the public; wizards and ordinary people can buy it. However, the formula for the medicine is an absolute secret."

Agu took the documents from Thor and discovered it was a list of goods. It listed all sorts of items.

From small household items to large housing equipment, everything is available.

"Does Archaeologists still want to expand? They've already started attracting evil spirits; do they really want to expand the city's boundaries?"

"When the profit is enough, people will take risks." Saul leaned back into the soft sofa. "That's not something we can control."

He looked at Agu, "How was your field trip today?"

Agu immediately put down the documents and said seriously, "I checked some factories, residences, and shops nearby with the blue pass and found that to enter or exit public areas, you need to stick the pass to a waist-high wooden stake. There is a miniature magic circle in the center of the stake, and you need to pass the verification of the magic circle to enter. I have recorded this magic circle."

Agu took a piece of paper from his pocket and unfolded it. On it was a magic circle recorded with ordinary ink.

"However, the key nodes of this magic circle have been concealed and covered, so it cannot be completely replicated."

Thor recalled the list of goods he had just looked at. "This kind of magic circle wasn't on the list. It must be a core secret of Archaeological City."

An also leaned closer and said, "The covered part isn't big. From the outside, it looks like it's for reading and recording."

Morton and Herman, who were staying in their diaries, were not idle either.

Herman was just a bit slow on the uptake and hadn't had a chance to interject yet.

Morton has already offered his own perspective.

Judging from the structure of this magic circle, the concealed part is unlikely to be too complex, at most having only one function.

That's the advantage of having many people around; Thor didn't even need to use his body, as several consciousnesses were already working out the answer.

"Alright, Agu, you and An will try to analyze the internal structure of the pass these next two days. I'll go to Baidong Academy to continue looking for suitable meditation methods and witchcraft."

New meditation techniques and witchcraft will definitely require exchanging magic crystals or resources.

Saul has some money, but he can't just sit around doing nothing. He'll wait and see how much profit the cleaning job that Dean Pound mentioned will bring him.

If there aren't many tasks and the returns are limited, then Saul needs to think of other ways to open source the resource.

……

The work of ordinary people in archaeological sites is actually very hard.

Most people's work is very full, and they can't move from their posts from morning to night.

Only a small number of people with special talents or good fortune can hold relatively easy and flexible jobs.

John from the intermediary center was one of them.

He recently closed a big deal. A new wizard rented the entire top floor.

Although the commission earned is not as high as that of directly renting a villa or estate, it is still much more than what an ordinary person earns by renting a house, or several people sharing a house.

Unfortunately, in John's career, the last type of transaction was the most common.

He received his commission today and was very happy. He hummed a little tune as he headed to his girlfriend's house.

My girlfriend is a newcomer who recently got a city residency permit, and she's at that naive and easily fooled stage. Her face is average-looking, but she has a fantastic figure.

John plans to buy his girlfriend some good food today and then take the opportunity to completely win her over.

However, when he stood on the street corner carrying two large bags of food waiting for his girlfriend to get off work, she never came.

Nearly an hour had passed since the agreed time, and the crowds heading home from get off work gradually thinned out to almost disappear.

The streetlights became John's only companion.

Even though he was deeply in love, John's face couldn't help but darken. He hadn't yet gained access to his girlfriend's apartment and could only wait for her outside.

"I'll wait another 10 minutes. If she doesn't show up, I'm going back. I'll eat this myself." John glanced at the clock hanging outside the building across the street and tapped his right heel repeatedly.

Finally, that familiar figure appeared on the street corner, his long brown hair, which was usually neatly combed and tied at the back of his head, was now loose.

John's girlfriend walked slowly toward the apartment with her head down, her arms swinging slightly in front of her.

"Why are you back so late? Have you forgotten we made plans to have dinner today? Do you know how long I've been standing here with these two bags? I've been sitting here like an idiot, being stared at by all those people..."

Halfway through his complaint, John saw his girlfriend brush past him without reacting, and a surge of anger shot up from the bottom of his heart to the top of his head.

It almost set his hair on fire.

"Me!" He gritted his teeth, swallowing his anger as he thought of his grand plan for tonight.

John's girlfriend had already arrived at the apartment entrance, and he quickly ran over to follow her.

"Did your supervisor yell at you again today?" John changed his tone this time, making himself sound much gentler. "Don't be sad. You're still a newbie. Even small parts of the tools used by wizards are very complicated and hard to master quickly. I'll talk to your supervisor next time and ask him to take better care of you."

His girlfriend stopped walking, turned around and glanced at John, her sadness seemingly masked by other emotions.

Seeing that his words of comfort had worked, John quickly smiled and held up the bag in his hand, "Look how much good food I bought today! And your favorite mead."

His girlfriend's gaze swept over the two bags before finally settling on John's smiling face.

"Hmm." She hummed softly, her emotions not yet fully recovered.

John didn't notice this; he eagerly followed his girlfriend into the apartment building.

They took the elevator upstairs to the cramped rental room, opened the door, the two entered, and then closed the door.

Three hours later, it was completely dark.

Thor, who was studying new witchcraft in his room, suddenly received a message that abnormal radiation had appeared three blocks away from him, and he was asked to go and check it out.

When Saul arrived at the designated location, he found it was an apartment building, and a large crowd had already gathered downstairs.

Some of these people were terrified, while others were numb, all staring at the apartment entrance shrouded in white light.

As soon as Thor approached, a man wearing a blue and white uniform, but without silver trim on the collar and cuffs, stepped forward.

"Sir, this area has been cordoned off by the security forces. Please do not approach."

Thor raised his hand, and a small blue and white brooch appeared in his palm.

The brooch has some intricate runes, with Thor's name engraved in the very center.

This is Thor's identification as a cleaner.

"Ah, wizard, please come in."

The security guard didn't dare to look closely and immediately stepped aside to make way.

Saul passed through the white, semi-transparent barrier into the apartment and, guided by the security guards inside, arrived at the scene of the incident.

This is a small-looking apartment.

The door was wide open, and the tables and chairs inside were somewhat disheveled. Two huge bags lay on the floor, with some fruits and vegetables peeking out from the open openings.

A brown bottle lay on the ground, its bottom shattered.

A faint, honey-scented smell of cheap alcohol wafted through the air.

In this somewhat messy scene, a woman wearing a tight leather miniskirt and with long, wavy white hair reaching her waist is squatting down, looking down at the broken wine bottles on the ground.

Her skin was so white it seemed to glow.

Hearing footsteps, the woman turned her head and looked Thor up and down, a hint of interest in her eyes.

"Great, everyone's here. We can start tracking now."

Sorry for being late. Let me summarize the plot; the next chapter will be around 10 PM.
