Chapter 375 Talking Nonsense
Chapter 375 Nonsense
Saul granted Penny's request.
Next, he needed to return to the elven settlement and bring over those strangely behaving wizard apprentices.
Thor walked out along the red carpet; the black and white planet of the past had disappeared.
He closed his eyes again as he started to go downstairs.
I couldn't help but recall the huge crater on the far side of the planet.
Can a normal planet really exist in the universe in this form?
What does the pure white throne seen from space signify?
Is the elf observing something?
The journey back was quick. When Thor entered the fourth-floor room, he opened his eyes and then sped up again, soon returning to the circular hall on the first floor.
Agu was still standing there waiting for him, but the once normal staircase had disappeared.
"What happened?" Thor turned his gaze away and asked Agu.
"Once you enter that twisted staircase, the normal staircase disappears," Agu said immediately.
"Does making a choice mean the other path will disappear?" Thor scanned the ninth hall, where there was no trace of the other staircase that had ever existed.
He chose the twisted staircase based on his intuition and his connection with Penny.
What would he see if he chose the other, normal staircase?
Can we still see a planet that appears normal on one side but has a huge, deep abyss-like depression on the other?
Will we still be able to see that pure white throne?
Thor looked at Agu, "After the stairs disappeared, did you notice anything?"
Agu raised his hand, which emerged from his large wizard's robe. His palm was covered in blood, with two piercing wounds on each side, revealing the fabric underneath.
"I found two cryptocrystalline materials."
"Why are you only telling me now?" Thor immediately retracted the cryptocrystalline substance into his skin. This kind of thing can be lost if you're not careful, so you have to hide it close to your skin.
"I forgot, I only remembered when you asked," Agu said frankly.
Thor shook his head helplessly. The consciousness's connection to the body in its container was much weaker than that of a normal person. Even after reminding himself of the existence of the Hidden Crystal in such a bloody way, he still easily forgot.
"Now that the other staircase has disappeared, let's not linger any longer."
The two then passed through nine halls with the same layout and returned to the first hall of the palace.
"I'm going to bring Kongsa and the others over." Pushing open the palace doors, the world outside had returned to silence.
Agu followed him out. "What does Master want to do?"
"Let's go back, let's go back to an open space." Thor looked outside, where the terrifying enemies had all disappeared.
The enormous black tentacles were gone from the black earth, and the distant mountains had returned to tranquility.
On the other side, the forest was lush and green, and there were no white human figures standing with their heads bowed.
"Ha, now that the mission's complete, they've all hidden themselves away?"
Neither the eerie humanoid figures emanating a chilling aura nor the enormous Soul-Eating Swamps were enemies Thor could handle.
However, they were also bound by some force and could not move freely within the valley.
Otherwise, the wizard apprentices hiding in the elven settlement would have been slaughtered long ago.
"These guys and Penny should have the same goal. But Penny is... searching for the meaning of existence?" Thor's eyes flickered, and he beckoned Agu to follow him.
Not long after the two returned to the Elf Valley in autumn, they encountered Morton and Herman, who had come looking for them.
"Master!" Herman rushed forward stiffly, almost bumping into Thor. He looked Thor up and down, then breathed a sigh of relief. "Master, are you alright? Those trees suddenly blocked our way, and then we saw a giant tentacle in the distance... But Master, those tentacles look like Little Algae. Could it be that Little Algae has gone out of control?"
Morton noticed that Ann wasn't with Thor and looked at Agu.
Agu pointed to his head.
Morton suddenly realized, and his expression became somewhat serious.
Thor pushed Herman, who was rushing towards him, away. "We have a lot to do. Let's go back and talk about it. This is still elven territory, and it's not very safe."
They rushed back to the white house.
There are no trees within a hundred meters, only ankle-high grass and a few strange white houses.
There were also four wizard apprentices with different appearances.
"You're still alive? Impossible, I clearly heard the sound of life disappearing."
Thor's face turned cold. "I did lose one of my guards."
He looked at the other three people who had gathered around him.
These people were subtly moving closer to him, seemingly surrounding him.
He sneered inwardly, then raised his voice, "Although one person died, I also found a way to leave the Elf Valley!"
The four wizard apprentices stopped abruptly. They looked at Thor, some with delight, others with surprise and doubt.
Thor's gaze swept across the four faces, finally settling on Kongsa.
Kongsa was smiling at Saul, seemingly pleased to see him back alive.
"How can we get out of the valley?" Monroe asked eagerly.
"We need to go back into the palace."
Thor's words caused everyone's expressions to change once again.
It's like a dye shop has been opened, all sorts of colors.
Monroe hadn't expected this either; he seemed to want to say that Thor must be crazy, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
"You've been inside the palace?" Mark frowned when he saw Thor nod. "If you've been inside the palace, we can't be sure of your current mental state."
After they were chased out by the palace's furnishings, some people did re-enter the palace in an attempt to find a way out of the valley or to negotiate with the beings inside.
But when they emerged again, they were either insane or dead. Even more terrifying, they would turn on their own companions.
Hard to guard against.
Later, they began to be wary of everyone around them.
"I can prove it." Thor suddenly released his grip, letting his mental energy dissipate.
When his mental energy swept over everyone, they could all sense that Thor's mental state was very stable at this moment.
Of course, after this significant spread of mental fluctuations, Thor's mental body inevitably experienced a slight tremor, but the fluctuation was very small and did not reach the level of any abnormality.
At the same time, everyone who was swept by Thor's mental fluctuations heard a sentence.
What they didn't know was that others had heard it too.
The four people who heard this—whether it was the tense Monroe, the crazed Casillas, the wary Mark, or the relaxed Kongsa—none of them showed any change in expression.
"As expected..." Thor smiled, letting everyone check his condition, but in his heart he thought, "None of them are fools."
Among those who have survived to this day in Elf Valley, there may be some madmen, but there are definitely no fools.
"Now you believe I'm in good condition, right?"
Some people looked hesitant, some hesitated, but in the end, Kong Sha spoke first.
"Of course, your mental state is more normal than most of us; I believe you're not insane. So, can you tell me how we can enter the palace without dying in the siege of those white figures?"
Saul said nonchalantly, "If we can't hold out until we get to the palace, then we might as well die here."
He spread his hands. "I didn't really come here to save you."
An eerie silence spread among them, until Kong Sha finally spoke first.
"Alright, it seems we'll have to rely on our own abilities then. But how can you prove that once we enter the palace, we'll be able to leave the Elf Valley?"
“It’s simple,” Thor said. “The elves’ treasure was stolen from the palace. If we go back to the palace together, we can bring the thief back instead of wasting our time trying to figure out who the thief is.”
Mark shook his head. "We've considered that method too. But we'll be attacked as soon as we get close to the palace. And... who can be sure that once we bring the thieves back, the beings inside the palace will let us go?"
“Yes,” Monroe added, “we were all in the palace when that thief stole the treasure, but he still managed to escape. The truly innocent people all died in the palace.”
"You are all focused on escaping, so you will naturally die. But I have already entered the deepest part of the palace and discovered its secrets."
"What secret?" Monroe immediately became excited.
"At the highest level of the palace stands a pure white throne. Whoever ascends the throne can, to a certain extent, control the Elf Valley!"
Thor looked around at everyone and calmly began to spout nonsense.
