Your loving brother

Kismet

Thor quickly finished reading the letter. It was indeed from that guy using the alias Victor, and the words were as nonsensical as he was.

At the bottom of the letter, the four characters "Kismet" were written in bold, large characters, seemingly venting his dissatisfaction that Kira hadn't listened to him last time.

After reading the letter, Saul immediately closed his eyes to check his condition, meditated briefly, and then reviewed his previous memories to confirm that his consciousness had not been affected.

"This letter at least confirms that Victor is indeed Kismet. As for the crisis he mentioned... if it's truly like a dark cloud, then it might not be aimed at me."

Thor looked up; above him was the warehouse ceiling.

"If he hasn't completely lost his mind, isn't using 'dark clouds' to describe the crisis facing me a bit of an exaggeration? Could the situation at the Wizard Tower be changing?"

For some reason, he even planned out an escape route for Thor. However, the route he considered was the No Man's Land, a place that even a formal wizard would find terrifying.

If it weren't for the fact that Kismet seemed to have some connection to the golden pages in the diary, Thor really wouldn't want to continue dealing with him.

He tossed the letter onto the table, pondering its potential hidden meaning, when suddenly he paused, "Wait, did he use a respectful term for me in one of those sentences?"

But when Saul looked down to check again, he found that the letter was gone.

"Did they deliberately destroy the records?" Thor felt uneasy about the suddenly disappeared letter. "The most important thing now is to solve my physical problems as soon as possible. I'm still too weak."

Although there was no evidence left, Saul still informed Gorsa that evening via a communication pen that Kismet had used someone else to deliver the letter.

After all, Kismet is a Tier 2 and seems to harbor some kind of malice towards Thor. He wouldn't willingly bear the threat of such a suspected provocation.

After reporting the thorny issue to his superiors, Thor once again immersed himself in research and experiments on witch body modification.

Meanwhile, on the border between the Principality of Kema and its hostile neighbor, the Principality of Knas.

In the desolate wilderness where there is no one for several kilometers around.

Kismet stood amidst dozens of corpses, listening intently to something.

He held a white harp in his arms, his right hand casually plucking the strings.

The melodious sound of the zither spread like ripples on water under the night sky.

At Kismet's feet, a man was crawling on the ground, his shoulders trembling uncontrollably.

Suddenly, the music stopped, and Kismet smiled. "Ah, Master has accepted my sentiments."

He lowered his head contentedly, looking at the soon-to-be knight who seemed to be licking the tips of his shoes.

"When does Knaus plan to go to war with Kma?"

The trembling shoulders of the prospective knight suddenly stopped. He looked up, his face shifting from fear to confusion and then to surprise in an instant.

"My lord?" The quasi-knight cried out uncontrollably, then immediately looked around warily, seemingly oblivious to the many corpses around him.

"My lord, the tripartite agreement has been signed. We will start the war as soon as Prince Aruba advances to the second tier."

"Oh~ three parties? It seems either Bydong Academy or Ludi Xingzhou has gotten involved." Kismet nodded, then tapped the novice knight's helmet lightly with another lyre. "This is no different from saying nothing at all. I don't know when Aruba will advance."

The prospective knight was somewhat confused, but he didn't dare to dodge the question. He simply quickly corrected himself for his inappropriate remarks.

"According to Prince Aruba, he is confident that he will be able to advance within two years."

Kismet scoffed, "They've been brewing this for so long, just waiting for a new Tier 2? Kema isn't the only Tier 2. Who can he defeat in a war? The goddess of war, Kira, or the wizard, Tagorsa?"

The quasi-knight leaned closer to Kismet and lowered his voice, "I heard that the one from the Wizard Tower won't show up when the war actually starts."

Kismet was finally satisfied. "That's right, this way the strength of both sides is balanced, and the war will be more exciting. It seems that the foundation of the Wizard Tower is also beginning to shake, and another ugly conspiracy is about to unfold."

When it comes to war and intrigue, Kismet gets all excited.

But as he pondered this, he started counting on his fingers again, "One year, two years... Thor might not even reach level three. That's still a bit too short a time. A level two apprentice isn't even qualified to be cannon fodder."

As Kismet pondered, the earth suddenly trembled slightly.

A small hillside suddenly cracked open, and a giant sand scorpion crawled out of it.

The scorpion had been underground for an unknown amount of time, and its body was still entwined with the roots of many plants.

The knight-errant, who was kneeling on the ground, turned around and saw the giant scorpion, which was five meters long. He screamed in fright and collapsed to the ground.

But he quickly remembered that Kismet was standing behind him, and with a sudden surge of courage, he picked up the sword that had fallen to the ground and stood in front of Kismet, shouting, "Sir, it's the Sand Scorpion! I'll hold him off, you go quickly!"

Kismet glanced at Scorpion, then gestured with his chin toward the prospective knight, "Then I entrust you with my loyalty."

The quasi-knight was taken aback at first, then a gust of cold wind swept in, and the huge scorpion pincers slammed down.

The quasi-knight wasn't particularly strong to begin with. He dodged the scorpion's pincers but not its tail, and died quickly after being stung.

The scorpion quickly set its sights on another prey.

To everyone's surprise, Kismet calmly stepped over the swollen and shiny knight and approached the Sand Scorpion. As if by accident, he uttered a note, and a gentle breeze swept by, causing the roots and soil on the scorpion to disappear completely.

Scorpion remained motionless throughout, his eyes fixed on Kismet.

After cleaning the scorpion, the latter jumped onto its carapace and sat down on a flat spot.

The scorpion, suddenly having a new owner, shook its head and tail, as if it had just awakened from some kind of hazy consciousness.

Kismet patted Scorpion on the back. "Let's go, let's go to Knath to find Aruba and buy some more time for our little Thor."

The man and the scorpion gradually disappeared into the deep darkness of the wilderness.

……

Five days after reuniting with Claire, Thor finally completed a reagent for transforming flesh and blood into a witch body.

He held up the test tube, his eyes fixed intently on the magnificent red color, and couldn't help but sigh, "It was truly not easy. So many materials were used up, but we finally managed to make a bottle. Even a formal wizard potion from a wizarding family is much more complicated than I imagined."

Even though the process and external conditions were exactly the same, the previous potion just didn't achieve the desired effect. If Thor had taken it, he would have turned into all sorts of monsters and died.

After making over a dozen failed attempts, Thor was now able to multitask. With his left hand, he mixed the potion while simultaneously calculating the dosage of neutralizing agent and preparing the catalyst and neutralization solution.

But the busiest one is actually the diary; it does the work of three people in one book.

Finally, today, Thor completed the refining of the last important ingredient for his new modification plan.

Standing amidst a pile of draft papers, Saul carefully placed the red potion on the test tube rack.

"Although there's only one copy, other influencing factors have been ruled out, as long as my hand doesn't shake..."

Thor shook his two skeletal hands, and the joints cracked.

"Maybe tomorrow we won't have to hear that grinding teeth sound anymore!"
