Death Wizard Diary.

Chapter 165 Conspiracy

Chapter 165 Conspiracy

Do it when you think of it!

Having confirmed that the diary had no warning, Saul continued his ascent, as if climbing stairs.

Soon his head popped out from the fourteenth floor floor. The lights were on, and it was clear that someone was in the dormitory room.

The dormitory for third-level apprentices is twice the size of that for second-level apprentices.

After confirming that there was no danger, Thor crawled out and began to wander around the dormitory.

Although the dormitory room is twice the size, the extra space hasn't been used for anything fancy. It's as simple as a hermit's.

Those who are content with pleasure will not be able to become a third-level apprentice before the age of thirty.

In addition to the usual living room and bedroom, the dormitory also has a sizable storage room and a miniature laboratory.

Just as Saul was about to sneak into the lab to see what the owner was researching, the diary popped up to warn him: Don't look around, or it'll be sealed!

"The things a Level 3 apprentice is researching are still dangerous for me!"

"The diary says it was sealed off, not that the person went mad. Could it be that the other party is researching how to imprison spirits?"

Thor quickly took a few steps back, moving away from the laboratory.

They retreated to the bedroom next to the laboratory.

Before Thor could turn around, a suppressed conversation reached his ears.

"What are you thinking? Are you really going to let that shorty steal your job?"

A shorty? Stealing jobs? Thor immediately recognized the description.

What a coincidence? This is talking about him!

He turned around and saw two tall, muscular men standing face to face in the middle of the bedroom.

They argued in hushed tones, their anger barely contained.

"Master Katz personally brought him here and didn't even allow me to argue. What else could I do?" The man who spoke with some dejection was none other than Kukin, whose job had been taken by Thor.

The other person was someone Thor didn't recognize, but judging from his demeanor, he was definitely a third-level apprentice as well.

"What can we do?" The other man's eyes darkened. "Kill him! Once the person doing the work is gone, this mission will definitely come back to you."

"Ferguson!" Kugin's eyes widened, and he couldn't help but raise his voice, but he quickly recovered and lowered his voice again, "Are you crazy? How could you do something like this a second time? Do you think your mentor really didn't know?"

"What's wrong with doing this? Is it surprising that someone dies in the Tower? And who has the mentor ever cared about? Don't forget, without warehouse work, we'll run out of stock. Do you want to go back to being the useless person you used to be?" Ferguson retorted.

Kujin narrowed his eyes, his expression unfriendly. "I think you're just too anxious. If this is discovered, I'll be the prime suspect, while you can stay out of it. After all, on the surface, no one can tell what our relationship is!"

Seeing that Kugin was doubting him, Ferguson almost flew into a rage, but he thought of something, suppressed his anger, and even lowered his posture.

"I was indeed anxious. But I had no choice. Why do you think I haven't gone out lately?"

Kujin pursed his lips, remaining silent, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes.

"I'll show you."

Ferguson suddenly began to loosen his belt.

Solton, who was watching from the sidelines, immediately widened his eyes.

With the belt undone, the entire pair of pants fell to the ground with a whoosh, so smooth it was as if there were no legs supporting them at all.

Beneath Ferguson's baggy trousers, he was wearing a pair of black leggings.

His legs, encased in tight pants, were thin and slender, completely at odds with Ferguson's muscular upper body.

It's like the upper and lower bodies of two different people pieced together.

Kujin gasped, his face immediately changing color.

But Saul noticed more than just that.

He walked over and examined Ferguson's trousers closely. They were made of the same material as his old black long gloves, which he hadn't worn for long before the tower master ruthlessly threw them away.

A large amount of magic crystals were lost.

While lamenting his loss, Ferguson grabbed the waistband of his trousers and pulled them down forcefully, revealing his thighs.

Thor quickly took two steps back.

These legs are a bit scary.

Ferguson's legs were almost completely charred, as if they had been burned by a raging fire. Just by standing there, fine black powdery residue fell off.

How can someone with legs like that walk and stand?

A faint white arc of electricity emanated from the carbonized legs.

The electric arc looked familiar. Upon closer inspection, Ferguson's situation was remarkably similar to that of his mentor, Monica!

Monica's scorched skin quickly recovered, and she remained a great beauty, but Ferguson's legs seemed beyond saving.

"My gloves are for protection against external electric shocks, and his pants are to insulate against internal currents," Thor shook his head, mimicking the tower master's tone, "Both are clumsy methods."

At this moment, Kujin, terrified, finally spoke, his voice trembling, "Why...why is this happening?"

Ferguson silently pulled up his pants before replying with a somber expression, "Using someone else's methods to advance naturally comes with stronger side effects."

"Will I become like that too?" Kujin clenched his fists, the veins on his forehead throbbing.

"If the materials don't get replenished..."

Before Ferguson could finish speaking, Kugin stepped forward and grabbed him by the collar. "You didn't tell me this would happen!"

Ferguson remained unmoved. "If I told you, would you change your mind?"

Kukin took a few deep breaths to calm himself down. "At least I still have other options."

"Just a good-for-nothing nearing thirty who can't get promoted, what other choice do you have?"

Kugin's pupils trembled, his brows furrowed, and his fingers tightened their grip on Ferguson's collar.

Inside the room, both Saul and Ferguson stared intently at Kugin, waiting for him to make his choice.

Kujin finally released his grip, his voice weak, "We must take back the warehouse!"

Ferguson finally breathed a sigh of relief. "How do you want to do it? If you're worried about trouble, you can lure him out, and I'll do it. You can then clear yourself of suspicion."

To everyone's surprise, Kugin simply rolled his eyes at Ferguson and said, "Is killing people all you know how to do?"

Ferguson frowned, puzzled.

"We could totally bring that kid Thor on board too."

"But he doesn't need to steal materials," Ferguson asked, puzzled.

"I know the second warehouse well. Although some materials can be taken freely, those materials are either scarce, not very useful, or have strong side effects. Finding the right materials there is much more difficult than outsiders imagine. In all these years in the warehouse, haven't I only managed to experiment with a few materials that we can actually use?"

"you mean……"

"We can lure him with academic credits or something else that Saul is interested in, and get him to steal materials for us."

"But that would be too costly. Do you really have that many academic credits?"

Kugin suddenly smirked. "Who said we'd keep giving him credits? Every time he breaks the rules, we'll have something on him. Then we can give him a small bribe to get him to do more."

But Ferguson was not optimistic about Coughkin's plan, saying, "It's just stealing once; the other party might not be wary."

Whether or not one takes a risk depends on the cost and the reward. If the reward is high enough, even a coward will dare to kill; if the cost is low enough, he will not act cautiously.

Before the bewildered Ferguson could speak, Kukin explained, "The first time, I'll offer him something he'll definitely be interested in in exchange for him stealing something that seems insignificant but is actually very important."

"What is it?" Thor and Ferguson asked at the same time.

Kugin said, enunciating each word clearly: "Candle."

……

Thor returned to his dormitory.

His diary reminded him: He'd been away for too long, and the old house was about to catch fire.

He could no longer listen to Kugin's plan. He quickly sank down into the bathroom, walked six steps clockwise, and returned to his own body.

"Ah..." Thor yawned, quickly pulling on his clothes. "Candle..."

The scene before his eyes began to spin, and after finally managing to get out of the washroom, he knelt down on the ground.

My eyelids felt as heavy as lead, and my arms felt as limp as noodles.

He collapsed to the ground, his last thought before losing consciousness being: "Was this out-of-body experience a warning from Lady Yura?"
