Chapter 144 Why have they all transformed?

Chapter 144 Why have they all transformed?

Just as Thor was about to rush in and join the battle, Morton, who was getting impatient from being surrounded, suddenly roared.

"You bunch of bastards, don't cause trouble at a time like this!"

His arms suddenly swelled and deformed, growing fur and claws like a wild beast.

He grabbed Herman, lifted him high, and slammed him to the ground.

With a loud bang, the circular platform shook as Hermann smashed his head into the stone, his head being driven directly into his chest cavity!

This powerful hammer blow immediately shocked everyone, including Thor.

Even the attacks from the other souls on Morton ceased.

But Morton, who had terrified everyone, looked down at Herman, who was now in a terrible state, and a hint of madness appeared in his eyes.

His pupils shrank to pinpoints and trembled at an extremely high frequency. The corners of his mouth slowly turned up in anger, and his purple tongue extended, slowly licking each of his sharp teeth.

Thor realized that the thrill of killing had caused the evil spirit to lose control as well, completely forgetting that it should absorb the surrounding fragments as soon as possible.

The evil spirit suddenly raised its head and howled, opening its huge mouth to generate a tremendous gravitational force, indiscriminately absorbing the surrounding fragments of souls.

Morton no longer cared about distinguishing the fragments of souls in the air; he just wanted to complete the fusion as soon as possible and then tear apart all the troubling remnants in his consciousness!

If he were allowed to absorb all the soul fragments...

Suddenly, a figure leaped forward, Thor soaring over the dazed souls and punched Morton in the chin!

Morton, who was opening his mouth wide to absorb the fragment, was forced to shut his mouth with a single blow. He leaned back and took two steps back, with one foot even stepping out of the center circle.

Thor fell and landed right in the center circle.

In that instant, he regained control of his body.

Thor vaguely understood that entering this circle within this reshaped space of consciousness was equivalent to becoming the body's primary consciousness.

He suddenly opened his eyes and saw Byron standing opposite him, watching him warily.

Byron looked at Thor, whose expression had suddenly calmed down, and was about to speak when he saw Thor quickly raise his index finger and put it in front of his mouth.

Now, even Nick, who was in the distance, realized who they were facing.

Both people who had suffered from facial paralysis for many years showed varying degrees of joy on their faces.

Unfortunately, before Thor could say anything more to Byron, Morton, who had regained his senses, punched him out of the center circle.

Thor's small body spun several times in the air before crashing heavily to the ground.

He endured the pain, immediately got up, and prepared to defend himself against the next attack.

Only then did they realize that his attack had broken the silence, and the other souls were moving again.

This gave Thor a chance to catch his breath.

He touched his head to make sure there was no dent, and then he breathed a sigh of relief.

Outside the realm of consciousness, Byron, having discovered that Thor was indeed still alive, suddenly turned and made a gesture towards Nick.

Seeing this, Nick glanced at Thor, who was standing in the magic circle with a ferocious expression, then turned around and adjusted the parameters of the control device.

……

Thor rushed back, nearly stepping on Herman who was lying on the ground.

The guy's head was still inside his chest cavity, but his hands had already started waving back and forth, so he looked like he could still fight.

Thor quickly crouched down, reached up along Herman's neck, grabbed his hair, and yanked his head out!

"Ugh!!!" Herman let out an extremely painful scream, and his gaze toward Thor turned hostile.

Thor used the same trick again, hiding behind Herman and helping him sit up, facing Morton. "That's your enemy!"

Hermann's eyes turned bloodshot, and he roared again, swinging his fists as he charged forward.

But this guy was quickly knocked away again.

Thor frowned. "Of these guys, only Bill, Herman, and three other Level 3 Apprentices have any fighting ability. The others can't even tickle Morton."

Suddenly, Thor saw Morton grab Bill and lift him into the air.

This time, Morton didn't smash Bill to the ground.

He plunged both hands into Bill's abdomen and ripped him in two.

However, just when Saul thought Bill would be the first victim, Bill suddenly turned purple all over, then softened into a ball of purple foam, which slid off Morton's fingertips.

After landing on the ground, the two purple bubbles rolled together and turned back into the purple Bill.

"What is this?" Thor looked at Bill, who had turned into a purple man, then at Morton, whose arms resembled those of a wild beast. "Why can they transform like this? Can I?"

Before Thor could figure it out, he suddenly saw Herman running past, seemingly inspired by Bill, his entire body covered in a layer of silver metal as he ran.

The transformed Bill and Herman were significantly stronger than before.

Herman threw a punch, and even Morton could no longer withstand it.

"Bill and Herman's forms are identical to the witchcraft they are most skilled in; could it be witchcraft constructed within their spiritual bodies?"

But Thor quickly dismissed the guess, because the other three apprentices hadn't changed at all.

"What could influence their ideology? Witchcraft? Meditation? Or locators?"

Before Thor could figure it out, the situation on the front lines took another sudden turn.

A blizzard suddenly descended from the sky, scattering countless fragments of souls. These fragments, which had previously resisted, now actively sought to enter Morton's body.

As the fragments merged, Morton's eyes gradually became cloudy, and the changes in his body became exaggerated, as he began to transform into a fully-fledged beast.

At the same time, the evil spirit's limbs began to move stiffly.

Seeing that the evil spirit's movements began to slow down, the few remaining intact souls around it began to tear at it.

They desperately tore at Morton's body, and actually managed to bite off a small piece.

However, even as loss began to appear in his body, Morton did not show any sign of pain.

With the replenishment of soul fragments, such damage was quickly healed.

Bill, who was closest to Morton, suddenly pounced on his neck from behind, grabbed Morton, and bit down on Morton's head.

Just as Bill's teeth were about to reach Morton's head, a tail suddenly grew out of Morton's back. The sharp tail transformed into a phantom, pierced through Bill's chest, and emerged from his mouth.

But Bill also turned into bubbles in an instant.

But before Bill could escape from Morton's tail again, Morton's head underwent a dramatic change. Its mouth suddenly opened like that of a giant crocodile, and it turned its head and opened its mouth, taking its tail and the purple foam hanging on it into its mouth.

Only a few purple bubbles "plop" onto the ground and remained still.

Before anyone else could react, Morton turned around and bit the soul of another Level 3 apprentice.

Amidst the other's gasp, Morton swallowed the head and chest whole.

Seeing that the souls were about to succumb to Morton's transformation, Thor had no time to ponder the reason for the transformation.

He rushed forward and, before Morton could tear into another spirit, kicked Morton in the base of its tail.

Morton wavered for a moment and lost sight of his prey.

He turned around to see who had attacked him, but only saw a blurry figure quickly disappear behind Hermann.

Hermann's consciousness had long since become blurred by the constant battles; his eyes were filled with nothing but anger and madness, and all he knew was to kill the enemy before him.

Taking advantage of the distraction caused by the evil spirit's devouring, his metal-encased hands, like two blunt swords, smashed Morton's chest, deforming it and nearly forcing him out of the center circle.

However, at that moment, Herman suddenly saw Morton sway for a moment, then turn around sharply and quickly turn back, his bloodshot eyes staring at what was behind him.

He didn't realize what was happening; he only saw Morton twisting his long snout and turning his head to bite him.

Herman instinctively tried to dodge, but the next second someone kicked him hard from behind.

Herman, caught off guard, lost his balance and lunged forward.

Morton's long snout grazed Herman's shoulder, creating a new gash. As Herman drew closer, the two collided head-on.

Thor, who was hiding behind, immediately jumped up, stepped on Herman's back, and punched Morton hard in the eye.

The attack struck instantly, destroying Morton's eyeball. Thor quickly rolled back behind Herman, using the large metal block to block Morton's counterattack.
