Chapter 1010 Facing the Battle
After discovering that the Chaotic Compass was malfunctioning, Keli did not tell anyone else about it.
The Chaotic Compass has been in use for so many years, and all the wizards currently residing in the Chaotic Domain have been sent in with Thor's permission. But if they know they can no longer leave the Chaotic Domain, will they have other ideas?
Keli wasn't very familiar with most people, and their level of trust was limited.
But Klee told Char about it.
Char has a very special way of contacting Thor. He has also acted as Klee's messenger. However, she doesn't know if Char and Thor can still maintain contact when the Chaos Compass malfunctions.
Fortunately, before Klee could worry for long, Char came to her with good news.
"Klee." Char beckoned Klee into a private laboratory. "Thor has contacted me."
Keli's eyes lit up, and a smug smile crept onto her lips.
"I told you he'd contact you soon, no need to rush." Claire crossed her arms. "What did Thor say?"
Xia looked at Keli, not wanting to remind her who had been pretending to be calm earlier. "Sol said we should pretend we haven't been able to contact him and just do what we need to do."
"Can't get in touch with him?" Claire's eyes darted around, knowing what to do. "Call Brando, Ann, and Noah over here. We have something to do."
Keli gathered all the wizards together and informed them that they were temporarily unable to enter or leave the Chaotic Realm.
Brando was the first to frown, paced back and forth a couple of times with his hands behind his back, then walked up to Claire. "Could I try out that sorcery item you used to enter the Chaotic Realm?"
Claire hesitated for a moment, but still took out the compass from her pocket and placed it on Brando's large hand, which was covered in iron glove.
Brando had seen Claire use the Chaotic Compass before, so he knew roughly how to operate it.
He carefully opened the compass and tried it out himself.
The Chaotic Domain Compass did not respond.
Brando fiddled with it for a while without any success, and prepared to hand the compass over to Kerr.
Claire raised her chin. "The rest of you should give it a try. It's a spatial artifact, and none of us are particularly skilled in spatial magic, but maybe someone will happen to be able to fix the compass?"
Thus, the Chaotic Compass ended up in Xia Ya's hands. After all, he was another third-tier wizard here.
Char actually had some knowledge of spatial concepts. After merging with the Inverted Tree, he learned that in addition to controlling a large number of souls, the Inverted Tree also possessed a core space. However, the abilities of this core space leaned towards a kind of talent.
People with talent can usually make good use of their talent, but it is difficult for them to explain the principles and rules contained in their talent.
So Char fiddled with the compass for a bit, then wisely handed it to Anne.
As a result, after Ann got the compass, she immediately handed it back to Ke Li, saying, "I know nothing about spatial magic, so I won't try to be clever."
Upon hearing this, Brando and Char both looked around awkwardly.
Claire took back the compass and asked Noah, "Would you like to study it?"
Noah had never expected that several formal wizards would entrust the compass to him. So when Anne bypassed him and returned the compass to Claire, he had no thoughts about it.
But to everyone's surprise, Ke Li still asked for his opinion.
"Me?" Noah pointed at himself. "Forget about me. I'm just a first-level apprentice now."
Claire didn't press him. "You're Thor's student. Although you can't advance in rank, Thor has given you all the basic knowledge he should have taught you. If you want to learn about space-related knowledge, I'll help you with that too."
Noah felt somewhat ashamed. He had indeed been diligently studying the basics of witchcraft, obtaining the complete set of secondhand textbooks that Thor had once used. However, after he began leading the Scorpion tribe to unify the Blackwater tribe and continuously expand its power, his study time drastically decreased.
However, Noah did not regret it. His individual strength was limited, and only after establishing the Blackwater tribe could he better complete the tasks assigned by Thor.
The reason the skeleton army is so large now is because after he unified the tribe, he sent most of the able-bodied men to help Thor dig out skeleton monsters everywhere.
In this space where there are almost no magical elemental particles, ordinary people can make up for the power gap between themselves and wizards simply by increasing their numbers.
Noah didn't regret neglecting his studies, but he was grateful for Claire's words. Even though he knew Claire said that only because he was Thor's student.
Unfortunately, he could only reach the level of wizard apprentice.
After confirming that the Chaotic Realm Compass was indeed malfunctioning, Keli and the others began to discuss what to do next.
While the group was discussing, some members of the Blackwater tribe suddenly ran to the perimeter of the laboratory and began jumping around, trying to attract the attention of Keli and the others.
An raised her hand and threw out something that looked like spider silk, which stuck directly to the person who came in, and then pulled the person in.
"What is it?" An asked coldly.
Normally, these inhabitants of the chaotic region wouldn't dare come without being summoned by a wizard. Their excited arrival now must mean they've made a very important discovery.
The man who had been pulled over caught his breath before clutching his chest and saying, "My lords, something's happened over at the Great Rift! The people working down there...they've all gone mad!"
Claire jumped to her feet. "We'll go over there. Noah and Anne, you stay up there and comfort the ordinary people."
Noah had barely nodded when he saw three wizards soar into the sky, arcing through the air before falling into a large chasm not far away.
But the three of them had only just landed when they suddenly flew back up through the crack and landed back beside Noah.
Noah hadn't even had a chance to move a step yet.
"What's wrong?" Noah asked anxiously, seeing the serious expressions on the three people's faces.
Keli looked at the two of them, her expression still grim. She slowly spoke, "Anchor point monsters have appeared in the rift."
An: "What? How could this be? Was it dug out?"
Brando shook his head. "It doesn't seem like it. We've already explored the entire rift and confirmed that there are no other mutated creatures inside besides the normal skeletal monsters."
"These monsters must have come from the other side," Claire said coldly.
She roughly knew why the Chaotic Domain had been closed.
They could roughly guess why Thor had them act as if they hadn't been able to contact him.
So this was their real purpose? To seal off the chaotic area and then use the anchor monsters to wipe them out in one fell swoop?
Char glanced at Klee, ready to see what she was going to do.
Without much hesitation, Claire clapped her hands and decided, "These monsters must have come prepared, but thankfully, we're not entirely unprepared either. The skeleton army has been training for so long; isn't this the perfect opportunity to put them to use?"
Claire looked around at the group. "Until we know when the Chaotic Realm Passage will reopen, we need to start using magic cautiously."
Thor had been transporting magic crystals to the Chaotic Realm for a long time, just in case the people here needed a large number of magic crystals someday. And today, they came in handy.
However, even with abundant magic crystals, the war's rampant consumption cannot withstand the devastation, so magic must be used cautiously from the very beginning.
The others nodded in agreement and then followed the instructions given by Keli.
The first official confrontation with the anchor point monster is about to begin.
The only good news is that in the Chaotic Realm, the strength and pollution attributes of anchor point monsters are also severely suppressed.
