Chapter 8 Amanises
Chapter 8 Amanises
"It's a miracle he's lived this long," Truman remarked.
"He... was born this way." Sasriel was quite helpless; being the vice-king of the Kingdom of Heaven was exhausting for him.
"Hello, I am Leodorus." It was the enraged Leodorus who was the first to react, suppressing his anger and introducing himself.
"Hello, guest from afar, I am Ocycus."
At this moment, a man dressed in a white robe walked over, smiling broadly and full of energy, his short blond hair gleaming in the sunlight.
He gave Truman the feeling of being very similar to the ancient sun god.
"You've already seen the angels under the sun," Sasriel said, introducing Truman to the angels.
"They're not weaker than the ancient gods."
It is certainly not weaker than a single ancient god, but the alliance of ancient gods is something that even the ancient sun god had to be wary of.
Moreover, the ancient gods that the ancient sun god wanted to reclaim his authority belonged to two major camps. If a strategy of division was not adopted, no one could withstand a one-against-six battle.
Truman came here to push this thing forward.
The two continued their tour of the sun god's kingdom, while three angels watched from afar.
"Why does he seem so weak?" Medici wondered. "But I don't dare to attack him. I feel like even provoking him would cause trouble."
"Which of you two wants to challenge him?" Medici urged the other two.
"I'm not stupid," Leodorus scoffed, indicating he wouldn't fall for it.
"Huh, really? How come I didn't know?" Medici blurted out a provocative remark, almost making Leodorus explode again.
"We may be facing a war," Osekus said, his smile fading and his tone grave.
"That's wonderful!" Medici raised an eyebrow. With the support of the legion, he was at his strongest and most suited for war.
"Here..." Truman stared in astonishment at the city before him, a city several times more magnificent than Silver City, a city that was at least thousands of years ahead of its time.
Ancient Greek colonnades, Byzantine domes, Gothic spires—architectural styles lost to time have been reborn in this divine realm.
"It's quite unique of you extraordinary people to be construction workers," Truman chuckled.
There is no shortage of low-sequence materials and extraordinary individuals here; they can be given potions after a simple selection process.
This place is a true paradise for humanity, both now and in future generations.
"This will be the future," Truman concluded.
This illustrates why the ancient sun god was able to become the creator of the Third Age.
"Why is the progenitor of vampires named Lilith?" Truman asked Sasriel after visiting such a massive city.
"The origins of humanoid ancient gods are all humans," Sasriel said.
Truman nodded slightly.
"However, Lilith has maintained her humanity quite well, making her the only one worth cooperating with."
Sasriel was very satisfied with the partners Truman and the goddess had chosen.
"I have received news that the Demon Wolf Clan has already set off for the Giant Royal Court."
"The goddess has already caused trouble so quickly?" Truman was somewhat surprised.
"This is related to the commotion you caused in Silver City."
The appearance of the Chaos Sea aura awakened the demon wolf that had taken over the Fool's Path from its slumber, and the location where it appeared made the demon wolf even more vigilant.
The wolf and the giant are mortal enemies, constantly plotting to devour each other. The wolf is even more insane, its destructive desires becoming uncontrollable once stirred.
As a result, all the ancient gods turned their attention to the giants' royal court.
"...Then I'll have to laugh a couple of times!" Truman chuckled and shook his head.
Around the time Truman met the ancient sun god, the turmoil caused by the fluctuations in the chaotic sea's primordial essence began.
In the divine kingdom that destroyed the demonic wolves, a figure emerged from a rugged yet tranquil temple.
Amanises, the goddess of misfortune, opened her eyes and emerged from her hidden state. Her face was indifferent, as if a suppressed madness was pulsating within her.
She stepped out of the rugged temple and looked out into the vast, endless primeval forest and a towering mountain range whose peak was hard to see.
Further away, several terrifying giant beasts seemed to be rolling around, their howls echoing endlessly, making the earth tremble.
The goddess walked silently toward the mountain peak, as if on a pilgrimage, with great devotion.
"Woo!" A wolf howled from the towering mountains, its intense malice undisguised.
The goddess of misfortune, Amanises, remained calm as she faced the enormous demonic wolf blocking her path.
This demonic wolf was terrifying, resembling a small mountain, its entire body covered in dark, short fur. Its eight legs were exceptionally thick and powerful, and its pitch-black eyes stared at Amanisis with malice.
"I challenge you! The position of God of Misfortune belongs to the great Gozlat!"
The demon wolf opened its mouth, and an eerie light flickered on its body. It was the deepest and most intense darkness, with a hidden and terrifying power spreading, symbolizing silent destruction and disappearance.
Amanisis looked behind the demonic wolf, where several other similar demonic wolves were lurking. If Amanisis showed any weakness, he might be devoured by these wolves.
A mad ancient god might need a doomed follower, but wouldn't care who becomes that follower.
This is just the daily routine of the goddess of misfortune.
These wolves are so annoying; you can't kill them, and you can't kill them.
Amanisis was clearly used to this daily routine of being challenged as soon as he stepped out of his house. He merely glanced at the walking characteristics of these creatures and walked away.
"Roar!" The eight-legged demon wolf roared, and fear and hidden power poured out with the darkness.
But Amanises simply walked away, his own form turning into a pencil drawing, which was then erased by an eraser, and he reappeared at the mountaintop.
The power of concealment and misfortune was immense; those eight-legged demon wolves, equivalent to Sequence Two or Sequence Three in later times, couldn't even see her back, though they were somewhat annoying...
"Amanisis".
Another demonic wolf approached, but this one was different. It lacked the terrifying power it possessed and was much more elegant than the other demonic wolves. Glistening spirit insects occasionally crawled in and out of its body.
"Antigonus." The goddess nodded gently, and soon another demonic wolf arrived. This demonic wolf was similar to Antigonus, with its jet-black pupils occupying three-quarters of its eyes and a tuft of white hair on its forehead.
"God of Wishes," the Dark Wolf Cortal.
Hmph! Antigonus gave Cortar a disgusted look and walked on his own.
Ahead lay a divine creature, half-human and half-beast, covered in black and white feathers, with a head more resembling a bird. Its pale skin bore eerie symbols and exuded a thick, deathly aura.
Salinger, the god of the dead.
