Chapter 46 The Great Wild Boar

Wayne watched expressionlessly as the bald, burly man led his men toward him, his eyes quickly scanning the battlefield.

Finding that the others were still hesitant and dared not step forward, he decided to intensify his efforts to destroy their fighting spirit.

He extended his left hand and unleashed the Alder sign, sending the bald, muscular man and the two people beside him flying.

Then, with a burst of speed, he rushed to the spot where the three men lay on their backs, kicked away a man who tried to stop him, and mercilessly slit the throats of the three men on the ground with his steel sword.

The combination of magic and swordsmanship is extremely effective, capable of quickly overcoming the enemy's resistance.

The death of the bald, burly man finally shattered the will of this rabble. They swayed, exchanged glances, and soon a few of the less determined ones chose to flee.

Seeing this, the other gang members lost their will to fight and stared at Wayne with terrified eyes. They grabbed their weapons and quickly retreated in another direction from the farm.

Wayne snorted coldly, reached into his waistband and pulled out two throwing knives. He aimed at the backs of the two fleeing men and threw them forcefully, hitting them accurately in the back of the heart.

The two unfortunate men's wails did not elicit any help from their companions; instead, they spurred the others to flee even faster.

In less than a minute, only those people lying on the ground remained in the farmyard.

Wayne gripped his steel sword, hesitated for a moment, then decided not to pursue the fleeing men. Instead, he walked behind the two unfortunate souls who were still breathing, raised his sword expressionlessly, and pierced their necks from top to bottom, ending their lives.

Anyway, his goal was just to destroy the Wild Dog Gang, and he didn't necessarily have to wipe them out completely. Too much killing would always arouse suspicion from some people.

Just as Wayne was preparing to delve deeper into the farm to continue his investigation, a heavy footstep and an angry voice came from another direction of the farm.

"Cole, is this the guy who's been causing trouble in our gang?"

"Huh, Bald Anak is dead too."

"Damn it, where are my men? Where did they all go?"

Upon hearing this, Wayne looked up and saw a fat man weighing at least 300 pounds, holding a long-handled iron hammer, staring blankly in Wayne's direction, pointing at him, and asking a henchman next to him a question.

Those were the bald, burly man's men who had gone to call for backup; it seems this fat man is their boss.

To his surprise, the creature that Old York called the Dog King was not riding a horse, nor was it accompanied by vicious dogs, but rather a huge wild boar the size of a rhinoceros.

It has glossy black fur, a pair of huge white fangs, strong limbs, and a pair of bright, piercing eyes.

Upon seeing the carcasses on the ground, the wild boar showed no fear. Instead, it seemed to be drooling, with copious amounts of saliva dripping from its mouth. Two plumes of smoke-like breaths shot out from its nostrils, hitting the ground and leaving two small craters.

Upon seeing the arrival of the large wild boar and its owner, Wayne remained expressionless and stared at them.

The fat man paused for a few seconds, his expression changed, becoming slightly more cautious. He asked in an angry tone:

"Who the hell are you, and why are you causing trouble for our Wild Dog Gang?"

Wayne did not reply. In the current situation, any communication would be pointless. It would be better to take advantage of this opportunity to strike first and launch a surprise attack.

He formed a hand seal, pushed his left hand forward, and the light of Yakshi shot out, instantly enveloping the fat man's head.

Unfortunately, the light only enveloped the fat man's head for a moment before being dispelled by some invisible force.

The fat man shook his head, then flew into a rage. He gripped the saddle handguard on the wild boar with one hand, pointed his long-handled iron hammer at Wayne, and roared:

"Damn it, they actually ambushed me."

"Another wizard, Hogg, charge at him and kill him."

Upon hearing his command, the wild boar let out a loud squeal, its eyes fixed on Wayne. It pawed the ground a few times with its powerful front legs, and then charged towards Wayne with the speed of splitting mountains and rocks, accompanied by a gust of wind.

A hint of surprise flashed in Wayne's eyes, but he nimbly rolled to the side, dodging the wild boar's charge and narrowly avoiding the big fat man's hammer blow.

With a bang, a tree behind Wayne was knocked down, and accompanied by the fat man's curses, the wild boar named Hogg quickly turned around and faced Wayne again.

The missed impact enraged the boar even more. It furiously pawed at the ground with its front legs, let out a huge roar, and charged towards Wayne again.

This time, however, Wayne was prepared. Before rolling away from the attacks of the wild boar and the fat man, he picked up a short axe from the ground, aimed at a general direction, and threw it forcefully.

With a scream of agony, Wayne looked up, grinned, and saw that the short axe had luckily struck a critical hit, embedding itself firmly in one of the boar's eyes. Crimson blood spurted out, splattering the ground around it.

The intense pain drove the boar named Hogg completely mad. It ignored the commands of the fat man on its back. No matter how the fat man roared, it just let out a huge howl, stared in Wayne's direction, and charged at him like a madman.

But such a reckless attack is completely ineffective against a well-prepared witcher.

Wayne had rolled away a few seconds earlier, revealing the solid wall behind him.

Bang! A huge wail was heard, and dust billowed up.

This time, behind Wayne was the most sturdy farmhouse on the farm.

Although the wild boar was incredibly strong, it knocked the log farmhouse to the brink of collapse.

But the powerful reaction force not only threw the large, fat boar off its back, but also broke its tusks and knocked the boar unconscious.

The wild boar rolled to its side and landed directly on the fat man's leg, causing the man called Dog King to cry out in pain.

"Damn it, you broke my leg, you stupid pig! You don't listen to my orders. After this, I'm going to roast you."

But he had only let out two howls when Wayne was already beside him, the cold blade pressed against his throat, and asked in a chilling voice:

"Are you the leader of the Wild Dogs gang?"

Faced with Wayne's question, whether the fat man was mentally unstable or simply used to being arrogant, he not only failed to answer Wayne's question honestly but also launched into a tirade of insults:

"You bastard, when I get out, I'll smash your head with a hammer."

"How dare you mess with me, you damned bastard, you bloodthirsty idiot! I'm going to kill you!"

Seeing how ungrateful this guy was, Wayne didn't indulge him. After all, he was just a gang of thugs, and there was no point in asking him anything.

He gripped the hilt of the sword, and with a thrust of the cold blade, plunged it into the fat man's throat, the gushing blood silencing the man's curses.

He stared at Wayne with dead fish eyes, his mouth agape, as if trying to say something, but warm blood gushed from his nostrils and mouth, silencing him completely.

Wayne drew his steel sword, wiped the blood off his body, and then reached out and groped him.

Sure enough, not long after, a blue necklace was found around his neck, with a round metal tag hanging from the bottom.

Based on what Wayne learned from Kaermerham, this should be a necklace forged from anti-magic gold.

No wonder his Axii sign didn't have the intended effect; it was dispelled in an instant.

The Dog King's shout of "another wizard" and the Wild Dog Gang's special methods of taming vicious dogs and wild boars aroused Wayne's curiosity.

Perhaps this gang is hiding some secret.

But now, the enemy is either dead or has fled, and it's time to reap the spoils.
