Chapter 9, Day 9 of Enrollment

Chapter 9 The Ninth Day of School (Part 2)

Some women have very accurate intuition.

Molly Kidman didn't know why, but she sensed that Link was different—different from Jimny and Chris, different from herself, and different from all the new blood she had ever seen.

Therefore, she instinctively took Link's thoughts seriously, and after hearing that Link had chosen Rivosos, she no longer hesitated and made up her mind.

If she could become more closely tied to Link, in a strange world where she knew no one, and without having to pay any price, Jasmine would be more than willing to do so.

It's just releasing some ambiguous and vague messages. It's not like we're actually losing money or losing out. It's a win-win situation. Why not?

Therefore, she had previously tried using some tricks she had learned from several noble ladies on Link.

For example, taking the initiative to hold hands, being charming and cute, or deliberately showing a vulnerable side...

Link's instantaneous reaction showed that he understood the ambiguous message she was sending.

He neither responded nor refused, acting as if he hadn't received the messages, yet his words and actions inadvertently revealed his respect and care for her.

What's going on here?

Therefore, while searching for a private room, Jasmine was actually feeling frustrated, and her cheeks puffed up with anger.

Am I not pretty? Am I not cute?

Why are you ignoring me?

The more I think about it, the angrier I get.

Therefore, after sitting down, Jasmine decided not to pull anymore, and I asked whatever I was wondering.

Jasmine was even angrier when she received Link's seemingly sincere and logically consistent answer.

"snort!"

After staring intently into Link's eyes for a while, Jasmine wrinkled her nose, pouted, let out a muffled groan, turned her head away, and turned her back to Link.

You're not being sincere, I don't want to talk to you anymore!

Link was completely baffled, not understanding what was going on.

However, Link was happy to have some peace and quiet.

With nothing else to do, he searched through a small hidden compartment on the right side of the seat and actually found something valuable: a handheld terminal that looked like a tablet.

He reached out to pick up the handheld terminal, but couldn't move it.

Link looked down and saw a palm-sized glass screen below the hidden compartment. After thinking for a moment, he tried placing the newly acquired document on it.

Really useful.

The glass screen emits blue light to scan documents.

A click sound immediately came from the bottom of the handheld terminal, indicating that it could be moved.

The display screen then woke up and lit up with a faint light.

Link retrieved his identification, picked up his handheld terminal, and before he could even operate it, a pre-loaded video started playing automatically.

"1763 years ago, the sixth-level wizard Sage Rivo and the sixth-level wizard Sage Soth responded to the call of the five great saints of the wizarding world and jointly founded the Rivo-Soth Biological and Medical Academy to advance the great revival of the wizarding world."

"Since its founding, the academy has cultivated a large number of outstanding wizards, achieved several significant accomplishments, and waged numerous wars against foreign powers, ultimately emerging victorious..."

Hearing the noise, Jasmine whirled around, staring intently at the handheld terminal playing a video in Link's hand, her eyes brimming with tears, and exclaimed, "What's this? I want one too!"

Link felt that Jasmine's behavior was becoming increasingly strange, but she was also becoming more and more like an ordinary girl rather than a haughty noble lady, so he didn't dislike this change.

Link pointed to the glass screen in the hidden compartment to the left of the Jasmine chair and said, "Put your ID there. When you hear a click, you can take out the tablet."

"flat?"

Jasmine muttered to herself as she reached for her ID.

"Well……"

Link carefully considered his words and offered a remedial explanation: "I don't know its real name. It looks like a square, flat wooden board, so I just called it that."

"Is that so?"

Jasmine was skeptical, but she didn't press for details. After taking out the tablet, she was immediately captivated by the video playing on it.

This nearly half-hour video concisely introduces the origin, development, current status, and achievements of the Rivosos Institute of Biomedical Sciences, and also showcases some of the institute's buildings, natural environment, and overall layout.

Five building complexes were specifically showcased.

The five buildings are: 1) dormitory buildings; 2) teaching buildings; 3) laboratory buildings; 4) student service buildings; and 5) library buildings.

After the video finished playing, a long notification popped up on the screen.

"Congratulations to Link Grand, the 'new blood' from the Stormy Sea Quete Islands, for your courage to explore, your willingness to try, and your discovery and unlocking of this portable AI."

As a reward for your courageous exploration and proactive attempts, this portable smart brain is now presented to you.

It is linked to your personal identification documents and physical information, so no one other than you can operate this device. You don't need to worry about your personal privacy and information security.

With this device, you can connect to the college's interactive network to search for information, make friends, and communicate online...

College activity notices are also sent to this device.

This device has many functions, and we hope you can make the most of it to help with your studies and life.

... "

After closing the notification, the display finally revealed its clean and simple appearance.

Apart from the college's "official website" which uses a badge as its icon, the "tablet" has no other "programs" installed.

"How do I use this?"

Jasmine had also finished reading the notification and tapped the "tablet" screen several times, but received no response. She then turned to Link and asked him.

"I don't know either."

Link replied casually, fumbled for the "power" button, locked the "tablet" screen, and then carefully put it into the bag.

Jasmine frowned slightly, somewhat disbelieving, but she didn't press the issue. Instead, she continued tinkering with the device, determined to find more functions.

In fact, if Link puts in some effort to play around and explore, he can definitely discover some of the features.

But Jasmine's previous probing questions and change in attitude towards him made Link secretly more alert.

He constructed a mental palace using the "brain-sealing technique," hiding memories that wouldn't reveal his transmigrator identity, which greatly reduced his vigilance.

So much so that even Molly Kidman noticed some of his unusual behavior that seemed out of place with his background.

A thousand-mile dike can be breached by an ant hole.

It's fine now, but what about later?

So, while Jasmine was engrossed in "playing on the tablet," Link closed his eyes, lay back in the chair, activated "Brain Lockdown," entered the temple of thought, reviewed his words and actions over the past few days, especially today, and reflected on himself.

The private room fell into a silent and peaceful atmosphere.

A boy and a girl, each doing their own thing, without disturbing each other, waited for the wizarding organization to finish recruiting new blood, and waited for the large aircraft to take off, carrying them to the final destination of this sudden long journey.

A new chapter in life is about to begin.
