My Hogwarts has a serious problem.
88. Take this headbutt!
"Belok".
"exist."
At the gate, Lynn stood meekly before Snape and Hermione.
"How dare you tarnish Hogwarts' reputation like this!" Snape's voice remained low as he glared at Lynn, his displeasure evident.
Lynn offered a feeble defense.
"I was just joking with my friend, just kidding."
He glanced at Hermione out of the corner of his eye. The little girl had been staring at him menacingly ever since she saw him, without saying a word.
"And this is all before the child has received an acceptance letter from Hogwarts. If you hadn't omitted magic, this would have violated the Ministry of Magic's laws!" Snape's tone was stern, clearly intended to give Lynn a warning.
"I will deduct ten points from your college score for this after the semester starts."
Lynn stared at him in shock, feeling as if he had taken Professor McGonagall's script.
"Professor, you haven't forgotten, have you? I'm from Slytherin!"
Snape: "..."
He coughed lightly, looking embarrassed.
"Ahem, the penalty of deducting points was a bit too lenient. I'll change it to making you come to my office every night for the first month after school starts to process potion materials!"
"Yes, Professor, I'm willing to accept the punishment." There's not much to say. Helping Professor Snape with potion ingredients isn't a bad thing. He might not praise you if he's in a good mood, but he might give you some rare ingredients.
Snape nodded. After being scolded by the little girl yesterday, he had to come here again today. Now that Lynn knows this freshman, he doesn't need to worry about what happens next.
Before leaving, he glared at Lynn with a sour face before using Apparition to escape.
After sending Professor Snape away, Lynn didn't relax at all, because he knew the real challenge was yet to come.
"Hermione, let me explain... ugh! No, I mean, let me clarify!"
Hermione remained expressionless as she looked at him, not stopping him from continuing.
Lynn immediately stopped arguing; he could tell that Hermione was truly angry.
"I was wrong, I shouldn't have lied to you."
He stole a glance at her expression, but it remained unchanged.
"You know, you're my only friend. I can't find anyone else to help me take care of my yard."
He glanced at her again; she still had no expression, but her gaze seemed to have softened.
"And you really took good care of the yard for me. I could tell you put your heart into it. Thank you, Hermione."
One more glance, and she looks a little angry. Angry is good! It's better than having no expression!
Lynn kept up the good work.
"I will try my best to make up for my mistakes. This summer I will take you to Diagon Alley to do some shopping, introduce you to the wizarding world, tell you about life at Hogwarts, and introduce you to my friends at school."
He opened his arms, ready to deliver the final, devastating blow.
"So, can you forgive me now, Hermione?"
Hermione finally reacted at this moment.
She took a half step forward with one leg, then used the calf of her other leg to push off, and with her head down, she suddenly crashed into Lynn, who was wide open.
"Forgive you my foot! You big liar!!!"
Caught off guard, Lynn was headbutted by Hermione, staggering back a few steps while clutching his chest and wincing in pain.
"It hurts."
Hermione, who was still furious and about to turn and leave, stopped in her tracks when she heard Lynn's cry of pain. She turned back and looked at Lynn with concern.
"Does it really hurt?"
Lynn gasped for breath and nodded repeatedly, saying, "Of course it's true!"
Of course it's fake.
His physical attributes make him comparable to a normal adult, allowing him to ride a bull with ease, and easily knock a little girl's head off.
Now have Lynn lift up his shirt and look at his chest; the red mark there is definitely not as big as the red mark on Hermione's forehead.
"Serves you right for lying! You deserve it!"
Hermione was still very angry. She was so worried and had been diligently cleaning his yard every week, only to find out that he had been lying to her!
Lynn readily agreed with her.
"Yes, it's my own fault, so calm down. Look how well you've taken care of my house, I have to repay you. How can I repay you if you're so angry? That just benefits me, and you'll be even angrier then!"
"Who wants you to repay me!" Hermione was still a young girl after all; her anger flared up quickly, but Lynn's coaxing calmed her down just as fast.
"Magic is very interesting," Lynn's voice sounded like a devil's whisper.
"I'm a top student who always ranks first in my grade. I can teach you magic before school even starts, giving you an edge over your classmates. Don't you want that as a reward?"
Hermione looked defiant.
"That's because I'm not in the same grade as you, otherwise I would definitely be number one."
"Of course, I've always thought you were a brilliant person," Lynn said.
Hermione glanced at him sideways.
"I don't really feel like what you said was a compliment."
"How could that be? You must be imagining things. Tomorrow I'll take you to Diagon Alley and we'll go shopping for the necessities for Hogwarts, how about that? You can actually use mine for your textbooks, don't worry about them being secondhand. I've taken lots of notes in them, and I might not sell them to anyone for twice the price of a new textbook."
The little girl grumbled and glanced at him, seemingly having forgiven him but unwilling to say it outright, only saying it before leaving.
"Then I'll come find you again tomorrow."
"I'll be waiting for you at home."
Lynn waved to her retreating figure, watching the little girl's steps become lighter and lighter as she got further away from him, and couldn't help but smile knowingly.
The little girl is so easy to fool (scratch that), so cute.
After resolving the crisis, Lynn breathed a sigh of relief and returned home.
This mishap was purely accidental. If he hadn't been trapped in Abrose for two days and hadn't returned before Snape arrived, he wouldn't have been in this predicament.
He packed his luggage from Hogwarts, prepared his first-year textbooks, and planned to leave them for Hermione the next day.
During dinner, he told Umaru and Kira that he was going out the next day and asked them to stay home and look after the house.
Lynn had been excitedly preparing to take the little girl to Diagon Alley tomorrow to broaden her horizons.
Unfortunately, he was stood up the next day.
"Dad suddenly said last night that he's going to take us to Paris this week," Hermione explained.
"He and his mother simply couldn't accept the idea of magic, so they needed to go out and clear their heads."
"Alright." Lynn, who had suffered the consequences, could only wave her hand magnanimously, "We can go to Diagon Alley anytime, it won't make a difference if we go a few more days."
It wouldn't make a difference if we spent a few more days. This week would be a good opportunity for Lynn to go to Professor Fox's home in England and retrieve his research materials on dark magic.
Lynn had been envious of the large-scale release of dark magic for a long time.
