Chapter 80, Chapter 079: We wiped out his stronghold! (Seeking recommendations)
Lynn rushed to Professor Fox's bedside and pulled back his blanket.
Fox was startled and stared at Lynn with a bewildered look in his eyes.
"Go! Hurry! Professor, that cripple from yesterday has brought a group of men! They're carrying guns!"
He called out softly, and the next moment, Professor Fox was jolted awake, all sleepiness gone.
He had spent some time in Muggle society before, so of course he knew how much of a deterrent a gun could be to normal people!
"They want to kill us? But there's no reason!" Professor Fox jumped out of bed. He didn't seem very panicked, but he looked completely puzzled.
"Never mind all that for now, let's make a strategic retreat!" Lynn said urgently.
"Why didn't you just say you were going to run away?"
"Because that would seem unimpressive."
"..."
……
"They're not up yet, are they?" Smith frowned as he watched Leon call for room service and knock heavily on the door again.
Leon sensed something was wrong, so he stepped aside and gave instructions to Simon.
"Break through!"
"That's not a good idea, considering the hotel owner is Stock's brother-in-law."
"Who cares! If we don't break them open, they'll get far away!"
Simon took a few steps back, then charged toward the door.
In just one moment, he smashed the door open.
The three old men rushed forward, but the room was empty.
"Fuck! They got away!" Smith cursed.
The room's windows were wide open, and the bedsheets that had been tied up were fluttering in the wind outside.
Leon peeked out the window and could still see Lynn and the others running down the street.
"Let's give chase!"
Countless guests in the hotel peeked out of their rooms, watching the three old men run downstairs with a thud, completely bewildered.
They got into Simon's pickup truck and chased after Lynn and his men in the direction they had fled.
Lynn glanced back, then immediately pulled Professor Fox into a side alley.
"Luckily, I didn't have time to bring my luggage back yesterday," Lynn said with a sigh of relief as she ran.
Professor Fox sighed regretfully, "It's a pity about the room rate; we paid for three days' accommodation."
"We're lucky we escaped at all. The key is, we have no grudge against them, so why are they chasing us?"
"They're mistaking us for people from the Ministry of Magic?"
"What crime should be charged with for hunting down an agent of the Ministry of Magic?"
"The law of magic does not include the death penalty; it should be life imprisonment in Azkaban."
During their conversation, they suddenly realized that they had unknowingly wandered into a dead end!
"Get over it!" Lynn made the decision immediately, seeing that the wall wasn't high.
"Professor, you climb up first, then pull me up!"
However, just as Professor Fox was perched on the wall and had pulled Lynn up, a loud shout suddenly came, stopping them from doing so.
"Don't move! Or don't blame me for shooting you indiscriminately!"
Simon grinned maliciously, pointing his shotgun at Lynn and his group. Leon followed behind him, panting, while Smith, the cripple, lagged even further back.
"Well done, Simon! You didn't mess up anything this time after all." Lemon patted the fat man on the shoulder happily.
Lynn and Professor Fox were utterly despondent; they had even raised their hands.
At that moment, Lynn suddenly caught a glimpse of the hunting rifle in Simon's hand.
"Keep running, Professor! That gun is just a bluff!"
Lynn shoved Professor Fox, and the two jumped off the wall and ran away!
Simon was puzzled: "How did they know my gun was a fake?"
Leon glanced at the shotgun in Simon's hand and instantly felt like he was about to go crazy with anger!
"You idiot! The gun barrel's crooked! Who do you think you can fool?!"
Once they climbed over the wall, they couldn't see Lynn anywhere.
They lost track of him.
……
Lynn and Professor Fox ran for more than an hour before stopping to rest at a bus stop.
"That shouldn't be the case. We've never even met. What grudge could there be?" Professor Fox muttered.
Lynn came up with a reason.
"Could it be that they found out you're a professor at Hogwarts and want to kidnap you and me to extort money from Dumbledore?"
Professor Fox stared wide-eyed: "Even after all that, they still have the nerve to do this?"
"What else can we do? There's no other explanation now."
"So what do we do now? Given their attitude, reconciliation is basically impossible."
Lynn pulled at her hair, feeling that the past two days had been absolutely terrible, with everything going wrong.
"We cannot passively take a beating; we must fight back."
Professor Fox now largely relies on Lynn for decisions, but he finds this proposal unreliable.
"They outnumber us and are local bullies; we can't beat them."
Lynn squinted at Fox.
"Professor, you've misunderstood me. This isn't the magical world; it's a society governed by law. Fighting and killing will get you arrested and imprisoned."
"So how do you plan to retaliate?"
Lynn raised an eyebrow.
"Didn't I say this is a society governed by law? Their act of wielding guns and committing violence in the street is utterly lawless! Isn't there a saying? 'If you're in trouble, call the police.' Let's call 999!"
Five minutes later, inside a telephone booth.
Professor Fox hung up the phone with a blank expression.
His expression was quite peculiar, like that of an elderly father who had just learned that his son had undergone gender reassignment surgery in Thailand.
"How so?" Lynn asked, blinking.
Professor Fox seemed to be still in shock.
"They said...we stole cattle from those people's farm."
"ha?"
They also told us to hurry up and turn ourselves in to the police station in hopes of getting lenient treatment.
"fu...k!"
Lynn was now trembling with rage, his hands and feet were ice-cold, and he was furious at the political corruption and incompetence of the British Empire!
"Another road has been cut off," Professor Fox said with a worried expression.
"What else can we do now? Why don't we just leave here and live the rest of our lives as Muggles? I think life as a Muggle is not bad compared to that of a wizard. We have food and drink, and we can watch TV."
Lynn listened to Professor Fox's farewell speech, "You go back to your Flower Fruit Mountain, I'll go back to my Gao Village," and looked at him with a face full of anger at his lack of ambition.
"How could you think like that, Professor? We're not in dire straits yet; we still have a chance!"
"What chance do we have left?"
"The curse on this city is a protection left by Grindelwald to his men. We can go to the Saints' lair and see if we can find anything."
Professor Fox looked at him in surprise: "You know where their hideout is?"
Lynn subconsciously touched her smooth chin.
"I know where one of them is based."
He pointed to a GG sign not far away.
Simon Farm serves you. Our farm specializes in wheat, vegetables, and high-quality live cattle…
Farm address: 106 Hanks, northwest of Abros.
The GG sign also featured a large headshot of Simon, a fat old man grinning with a mouthful of yellow teeth, looking like a complete idiot.
Thank you Xingshi for the 500 points!
