My Hogwarts has a serious problem.

Chapter 69. Knowledge is Priceless (Seeking Recommendations)

"Of course not. If you weren't lying in a hospital bed, I could even spar with you and let you test my progress." Lynn was relieved to see that Professor Fox was alright, so he said with a slight glancing side.

Professor Fox chuckled.

"I'm old, weak, sick, and disabled now; I can't afford to be bothered by a young person like you."

As he spoke, his smile faded, and his expression suddenly became solemn. He earnestly thanked Lynn.

"Thank you, Lynn. I owe you my life. If it weren't for you, I'd probably be lying in a coffin buried in the ground right now."

Lynn waved his hand.

"It's alright, Professor. Didn't you invest in my education and teach me magic in the first place? So you don't owe me anything. It evens out."

With Dumbledore still nearby, Lynn didn't dare reveal that he was learning dark magic from Professor Fawkes.

Professor Fox shook his head.

"Let's keep things separate. I initially invested in you because I wanted you to be my lab assistant after you graduated. What? You regret it now?"

Lynn shrugged innocently.

"Of course not. I don't even know what I'll be able to do after I finish learning magic at Hogwarts. You'll have to take care of my food and lodging, Professor."

"Haha, you're still as funny as ever. Of course I'll provide food and lodging. I'm just afraid that by then you'll have achieved enough and won't want my shabby lab anymore."

He smiled and turned his gaze to Dumbledore, saying nothing, just looking at him.

Dumbledore coughed knowingly twice and patted his back.

"I'm getting old and useless. My back and legs can't take it if I don't go out for a walk. You guys chat first, I'll go for a stroll outside."

The greatest white wizard of the 20th century, a recipient of the Order of Merlin, First Class, president of the Wizarding Union, and headmaster of Hogwarts, was actually being disliked for being in the way in a hospital room. Who can he complain to?

After the troublesome Dumbledore left, Professor Fox began to say what he really wanted to say to Lynn.

Do you remember what I told you in the Forbidden Forest?

Lynn shook her head decisively: "I don't remember, I've forgotten everything."

Professor Fox chuckled at his reaction.

"It's no use if you forget. I'll just tell you again. You don't need to be involved in the things at Gringotts. Once I'm fully recovered, I'll go there to handle the handover of the vault and then give you the keys. As for my house in England, go visit it whenever you feel like it. Don't forget to take all the data with you. As for the lab in Iceland... those things are too dangerous for you right now, and there's no rush..."

Lynn watched him ramble on and on as if he were making arrangements for his own funeral, and sighed with a headache.

"Stop, stop, professor! You're still alive and well, aren't you? Why are you suddenly thinking about me inheriting your family business?"

"I'm all alone now, Lynn." Professor Fox looked at him. "Now that I've avenged my great enemy, I don't really have any other thoughts. The only thing I haven't finished is the experiments I did with my friends. But I gave up on those things once before, so even if I had the idea to pick them up again, it doesn't matter when I start. So I plan to travel around after I recover."

"You're not going to continue being a professor at Hogwarts?" Lynn asked, frowning.

"I barely escaped death, and now I have to go back?" Professor Fox raised an eyebrow and said with a smile. "I never wanted to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor; I wanted to be the Runes professor. If Dumbledore hadn't been desperate and begged me, I would never have taken this risk."

"Besides, those kids don't like me, so I'm not going to bother them."

"So, Professor, where are you planning to go?" Lynn asked.

Professor Fox seemed to be only now beginning to think about where he was going, and after a moment's thought, he said...

"I guess I'll first travel all over Britain. I really like Muggle society. Their inventions and lifestyles seem much more advanced than those of the wizarding world. After that, I'll go to France and Germany. I heard there's been some unrest in the Soviet Union recently, so I won't go there. Then I'll go to Asia. After visiting China once, I still miss the food there."

"So you don't spend money on your trip? If you give me your entire fortune, what will you live on?"

"Don't underestimate wizards, Lynn." As if he had thought of something, he suddenly became excited. "When I was searching the world for Wilkes, I saw people on the streets of Muggles making money by using magic tricks that looked like magic. They called it magic. So I can do that too! I can travel the world while pretending to be a magician on the streets to make money. Wouldn't that be interesting?"

Seeing his enthusiastic expression, Lynn couldn't bear to stop him anymore. Professor Fox was right; it would be too unmagical for a wizard to worry about money in Muggle society.

"Don't feel like you're getting something for nothing." Professor Fox could see that Lynn was resisting something. "I'm just an old man, I might die any day now. Who will get those things? If you don't want them, they'll just end up benefiting those greedy goblins. They've made a lot of money off the dead, and you're the one who deserves them the most."

Lynn remained silent. He never felt that he was helping Professor Fox with anything; on the contrary, he had always been indebted to him. Now, Professor Fox was even going to give him his entire fortune. Lynn would not feel at ease taking it.

But now that the professor has said so, it would seem pretentious for Lynn to refuse. He thought for a moment and then said.

"How about I keep that vault for you? If you change your mind later, or take a liking to that child and want to adopt him, I'll return it to you. As for those dark magic materials in your home in England..."

Lynn said matter-of-factly, "I'll accept those. After all, you're my teacher, and it's only right that you impart knowledge to me."

Ultimately, Lynn was still envious of Professor Fox's knowledge of dark magic. Although he had never seen the area-wide Killing Curse or the Divine Edge Curse, he had seen the large number of spider corpses and the open space as big as a football field cleared by the Divine Edge Curse!

What is a Galleon?

For wizards, knowledge is priceless.

Professor Fox seemed to see through his little scheme and shook his head with a smile.

"No, Lynn, as I've said before, deciding to invest in you was probably the best decision I've ever made in my life."
