Chapter 68. Visit
Chapter 68. Visiting (Seeking Recommendations)
Lynn was inwardly turbulent, but outwardly remained calm. Regardless of whether it would work or not, he immediately bestowed upon him the title of "newly enrolled rookie."
"I don't think I resemble anyone, Professor. I am who I am. Even if by chance I resemble someone, I will have my own direction and the right path." Lynn calmly organized his words. He had to defend himself and prevent Dumbledore from thinking in that direction.
After startling Lynn so much that he almost mistook her for an immortal, the old bee nodded in agreement.
"Yes, you have your own path. From the fact that you risked your life to go to the Forbidden Forest to find Adrian, and made many friends from different houses at Hogwarts, these are the things that make you different from him."
In just one minute, Lynn's mood went up and down like a rollercoaster. He looked at the old man in front of him and was so angry that he wanted to bite him, but he dared not show it at all.
"Alright, Belloc, if you want to know anything more about Kira, it will contact you after you leave Hogwarts at the end of this semester. Now let's talk about something else." He looked at Lynn and smiled, winking.
Do you have any other plans for today?
Lynn had no idea what this cunning old bee was up to, so he hesitated and shook his head.
"I have nothing else to do today, Professor."
Upon hearing this, Dumbledore stood up from his chair.
"That's perfect. Since you're free, come with me to St. Mungo's Hospital to visit Adrian."
Lynn's face immediately lit up with a look of surprise.
"Professor Fox is awake?"
"It was probably last night when he woke up. According to the therapist at the hospital, he's recovering quite well. Let's go, we'll head over now."
He waved his hand to summon Phoenix Fox, letting it land on his shoulder, while grabbing Lynn's arm with one hand and giving him a reminder.
"This should be your first time experiencing the spatial migration of Apparition. You will definitely feel obvious discomfort after landing. Be careful not to vomit."
Lynn nodded quickly, assuring him that she wouldn't embarrass herself like that.
But then he realized he had made the promise too soon.
Phoenix Fawkes, along with Dumbledore, disappeared from the Headmaster's office. For a moment, Lynn felt as if he'd been shoved into a washing machine, his entire body twisting and spinning wildly in an extremely confined space!
It felt like only a second had passed, yet it also felt like an eternity. After a moment of disorientation, his feet were once again firmly planted on the ground.
"vomit!"
Lynn hugged the trash can and vomited violently.
Dumbledore seemed to have anticipated that he wouldn't be able to hold it in any longer, and the place where he landed was right next to a trash can. He shrugged.
"I told you to take it easy."
Lynn quickly vomited everything in his stomach. His legs were trembling, and his face was pale. He leaned against the wall to straighten up, wiped his mouth, and forced himself to speak.
"I'm fine, Professor."
He raised his head, looked around, and observed the unfamiliar environment.
They were now in a small square, in front of a Gothic building that looked about half the age of Dumbledore, its exterior dilapidated.
A plaque for Purge and Dowse is still nailed to the glass window on the front of the building, but it is dilapidated and seems unlikely to survive much longer.
The building still had a "Closed for Renovation" sign hanging on the door, but Dumbledore ignored it and led Lynn to the shop window next to the door.
Behind the glass display window was a crudely made doll. It was so ugly that it wasn't even cute. If any toy company stocked this kind of doll, it would probably never sell.
"We've come here to visit a patient named Adrian Fox," Dumbledore said, looking down at the Ugly Doll.
The doll nodded slightly in a human-like manner, then waved its sewn-together hand, gesturing for them to come in.
Dumbledore took Lynn's arm and led him through the glass display case, just as he had done through Platform Nine and Three-Quarters.
The surrounding scenery changed instantly, and all sorts of noises suddenly rang in Lynn's ears, with a smell similar to disinfectant permeating the air.
They appeared in a large hall, which was filled with people, almost all of whom were wizards, most of whom looked strange.
A plant resembling a cactus grew on the top of someone's head.
A dog with a human head on its body trotted behind a wizard in a green robe, constantly asking, "How many days will it take to turn back? I can't wait to try again..."
Some people had empty sleeves, as if they had no arms, but upon closer inspection, it was discovered that their arms were leading the way.
Lynn looked at the various wizards, who resembled strange creatures, with astonishment, thinking to himself how clever they were.
A wizard whose neck was twisted 180 degrees, whose body was walking forward but whose face was looking back, noticed Lynn's gaze and glared at Lynn fiercely.
"You ignorant brat! What are you looking at?"
Lynn, relying on Dumbledore's presence, wasn't intimidated at all and made a face at him.
The wizard glanced at Dumbledore, clearly intimidated, snorted, and left.
Dumbledore patted Lynn on the shoulder, signaling him to follow him.
They arrived at a table in the reception area marked "Inquiry Desk," behind which were pasted parchments. Dumbledore quickly found the information he needed among them.
"Second floor, Biological Injury Department, Ben Hadley Ward, let's go, Belloc, I've found his ward."
They went up to the second floor together and finally stopped in front of a hospital room.
There was a sign hanging on the door that read, "Out of danger, severe penetrating injury."
Dumbledore knocked on the door, and soon Professor Fox's voice came from inside the ward.
"Please come in."
Dumbledore pushed open the door and left, with Lynn following behind him.
Professor Fox was leaning against the bed reading a magic book when he saw who it was, and he immediately smiled with delight.
"Albus and Lynn, thank you for coming all the way to visit me."
Dumbledore suddenly had a carnation in his hand, which he placed in front of Professor Fox's bedside.
"Wishing you a speedy recovery, Adrian."
Professor Fox seemed to be recovering well, he said with a smile.
"Of course I will. I feel great now that I've avenged myself."
As he spoke, he turned his gaze to Lynn.
"And you, Lynn, have you neglected your spell practice while I was away from Hogwarts?"
