Chapter 55. Revenge Ten Years Late (Part 055)

The ground around was covered with spider webs.

This area was clearly territory occupied by the spider race, and all the giant spiders had just been killed by Professor Fox's curse.

Now, only some small spiders that haven't grown up yet remain here.

The term "small" is relative; even in their juvenile stage, they are still about the size of an adult's fist.

Professor Fox stopped short of walking.

Because the tracking magic that brought him here disappeared, which means the person he's looking for is here.

But there wasn't a soul in sight, only a huge figure suddenly bursting out of a cave!

Professor Fox casually waved his wand, and the stone in front of him suddenly turned into a sharp spike a split second before the figure charged at him.

Caught off guard, the enormous creature was immediately slashed in the belly. It let out a painful hiss, and its six long, blade-like limbs curled up, unable to move forward.

Professor Fox quickly took two steps back to get a clear look at the entire behemoth.

This is an unusually large eight-eyed spider, even bigger than a Muggle's car. With each movement of its six legs, it sweeps down large swathes of trees like sharp blades.

Its eight eyes looked somewhat abnormal, displaying a strange grayish-white color, as if it were blind.

This spider is clearly Hagrid's friend, Aragog.

However, its current state is somewhat strange, as if it is being controlled by someone.

These large creatures may look terrifying, but they are actually the easiest targets for wizards to deal with because of their enormous size, making them perfect sitting ducks.

"The legs are so stiff they stop immediately."

The spells used to bind hands and feet were undoubtedly a good way to deal with this jointed creature. Aragog was immobilized by eight legs, completely losing his ability to move.

Killing it would have been easy, but Professor Fox spared Hagrid's life out of consideration for him.

"Aren't you coming out yet, Wilkes?" he shouted from the rainy night towards the empty woods.

"I bet you've had enough, haven't you? Even when I was imprisoned in Azkaban, you didn't dare come out. You've been hiding here for ten years, and now you finally dare to fight back against me. So why don't you come out and meet me?"

A cold wind blew through the winter rain, and apart from the rustling of the leaves, no one answered him.

Professor Fox frowned slightly; he seemed to have heard a voice.

Suddenly, a wooden arrow shot out from the depths of the forest, its target aimed precisely at his head.

But the arrow was stopped by an invisible barrier ten centimeters in front of Professor Fox; his armor spell had not been dispelled.

The attack failed, and the sound of hooves pounding the ground rang out. The figure hidden in the darkness quickly changed position among the trees, giving Professor Fox no chance to lock onto him with his wand.

He is a horseman.

Fox squinted habitually, recognizing the attacker.

He remembered what Hagrid had said when they entered the Forbidden Forest: the centaur tribe had recently lost a member of their tribe.

It now appears that their people were not lost, but rather controlled by dark magic.

The centaur's arrows posed little danger to Professor Fox; the real threat to him came from the person lurking in the shadows.

He didn't make any rash moves, but stood still, waiting for the hiding rat to reveal its true colors.

They remained deadlocked for five minutes before the centaur who had been wandering around finally couldn't hold back and launched an attack!

Knowing that the bow and arrow were ineffective, he decisively put away his longbow, brandished a wooden spear, and accelerated his charge, attempting to pierce Fox through.

"Avada Kedavra!"

Professor Fox was equally decisive. He spared Aragog out of respect for Hagrid, but he showed no mercy to the centaurs, unleashing a Killing Curse with a single gesture.

The ghastly green light seemed to suffocate them, piercing through the rain and shooting straight at the centaur.

No one dared to face the Killing Curse directly, but the centaur moved very nimbly, unlike Aragog who was used as a live target. He nimbly jumped, twisted to the side, and then charged again!

Professor Fox immediately changed his strategy. To deal with a character with maxed-out agility, he couldn't use spells that only worked on hit; area-of-effect spells were more effective against him.

"Thunderous explosion."

Flames shot into the sky, and debris and mud flew everywhere. The centaur managed to dodge the direct damage from the Explosion Curse, but was still thrown back several steps by the shockwave.

Professor Fox seized the opportunity and unleashed his killer move.

"The Divine Blade is Without a Shadow!"

The centaur's heart was pounding, and he instinctively lunged to one side. An invisible blade cleaved through the night, and his action saved him from being cut in half at the waist on the spot, but blood still splattered, and his left arm was severed!

A pitiful wail echoed through the Forbidden Forest.

Just as Professor Fox was preparing his next spell to finish off this man.

A ghastly green curse appeared out of nowhere and suddenly attacked him from behind!

"Avada Kedavra!"

Upon hearing the incantation, Professor Fox knew it was too late to hide.

So he chose another way to escape the curse.

His body suddenly shrank, and his size and appearance changed rapidly. In the blink of an eye, Professor Fox had become Professor Flitwick!

Because of his reduced height, the curse that should have hit him now only barely grazed Professor Flitwick's hair.

Professor Fox, having completed his transformation, did not stop. After waiting for so long, the rat had finally shown itself, how could he possibly give up this opportunity?

Another silent transformation spell.

From the location where the killing curse came from, several tree branches quietly transformed into long ropes, which quickly coiled around the black wizard who had just revealed himself, like snakes.

The rope tightened instantly, binding him completely.

"Aha!" Professor Fox transformed back into his original form and exclaimed excitedly, "I've got you!"

However, the bound dark wizard suddenly vanished the next moment, the rope fell limply to the ground, and a normal-sized spider appeared in the spot.

The dark wizard's Animagus is a spider.

Having revealed his identity, the dark wizard named Wilkes no longer hid; he transformed back into a human form from a spider.

He was a middle-aged man who looked very unhappy with his life. His face was sallow, his hair was messy as if he hadn't taken care of it in a long time, and his robe was tattered.

However, his eyes were unusually fierce as he stared intently at Professor Fox, gripping his wand tightly and speaking through gritted teeth.

"Fox! I never knew you were a natural Animagus!"
