Chapter 437 A Family of Three

Chapter 438, Section 435: A Family of Three

On the day Lynn and his friends agreed to depart for the Quidditch World Cup venue.

Xiaomai got up very early.

She was dressed neatly in a Quidditch jersey she had recently bought from Diagon Alley, a jersey Lynn didn't recognize as belonging to any particular team. She wore a baseball cap and had a small megaphone hanging in front of her.

Lynn, with her messy hair, yawned as she watched her excited expression.

"If you could get up this early every day, then Kira wouldn't have to worry about how to wake you up every day."

"But you've been waking up really late lately! And you always look so tired when you wake up!" Umaru said astutely.

Lynn turned and went into the bathroom to wash up.

"That's because I've been reading until very late these past two days."

"Is this a book written by Teapot and his team? Is the content of the book very interesting?"

Umaru usually doesn't go into Lynn's study, but one day she accidentally discovered the three talking tea sets in the study, and she eagerly ran into the study.

Because the teapot could tell wonderful stories, Umaru loved listening to the stories of the Little Mermaid and Snow White fighting over the prince.

"No, it's just dry and boring magical knowledge. Also, although I don't object to you playing with the teapot and the others, you should be careful when you play. You almost dropped it a few times. If it had broken, your good friend would have been gone."

They had just finished breakfast when Hermione showed up at the door.

Ron's family also invited her to watch the Quidditch World Cup, but after much consideration, Hermione decided to go with Lynn and the others.

Harry is no longer with the Weasleys; he is now living with his godfather, Sirius Black.

Both Harry and Sirius are wealthy second-generation heirs who are never short of money, so buying two World Cup tickets is nothing to them.

Besides, they didn't even need to buy them. Mr. Weasley used the Ministry of Magic's internal perks to get two extra tickets and gave them to Harry and his friends.

He had originally intended to give Lynn a few, but Lynn politely declined.

Given Leon's current high standing in the Ministry of Magic, there are naturally plenty of people eager to curry favor with him and send him these tickets.

"Isn't Kira coming with us?"

Hermione held Umaru's hand and stood next to Lynn, who was checking the time.

If you ignore their age, they look like a family of three preparing for a trip.

"It doesn't like Quidditch. It always says that only unambitious wizards would enjoy a sport like flying around in the sky with a broom, so it doesn't plan to come with us."

Umaru exclaimed, "Kira's prejudice! It's only because Lynn isn't very interested in Quidditch that it wouldn't dare say that."

She's the one who loves Quidditch the most here, so Kira's words are a veiled insult, implying she lacks ambition.

However, it wasn't wrong to criticize her; Umaru really does lack ambition, and she's even quite proud of it.

Lynn stared at the time on his pocket watch and muttered, "They should be here by now."

Before he could finish speaking, a "snap!" sound rang out, and a male wizard wearing a very formal suit jacket on top and brightly colored beach shorts on the bottom appeared in front of them.

"Mr. Lynn Bellock?"

The wizard looked at the note in his hand, then scrutinized Lynn to confirm his identity.

"Yes, it's me."

The wizard breathed a sigh of relief after hearing his confirmation.

"I'm sorry, I'm a little late than the agreed time. Because I'm not very familiar with this area, I went to the wrong place twice, and once when I apparated, a Muggle kid accidentally saw me. I had to use a forgetting charm on him to prevent those guys from the Department of Magical Law Enforcement from holding a trial for me just because of this."

The wizard seemed very outgoing, and after meeting Lynn and the others, he started rambling on and on before finally remembering to introduce himself.

"Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Jack Williamson, just call me Jack. Mr. Leon, the Auror supervisor, asked me to take you to the Quidditch World Cup venue."

Lynn nodded. "Hello, you can call me Lynn. Shall we set off now?"

"Of course we can. You hold my hand, we have to get there as soon as possible. If we're too late and the door key has already been activated, we'll be in trouble if we're left behind."

Lynn grabbed Jack's hand, while Hermione pulled Umaru and held Lynn's other hand. Then Jack used Apparition to take them to a small hill on the outskirts of London.

Umaru and Hermione felt distinctly uncomfortable because they had never experienced Apparition's spatial teleportation before.

Fortunately, they flashed to a location that wasn't too far away, so they didn't vomit on the spot like Lynn did the first time.

Two wizards were already standing at the top of the hill. They noticed Lynn and his companions' arrival but did not go up to greet them.

Taking advantage of this moment, Lynn asked Jack a question that seemed to be on his mind.

"Why don't we just Apparate to the competition venue? Why do we have to come here and use a portal key?"

Jack explained, "Because the distance is too far, using Apparition directly from your house to the competition venue would exceed the maximum distance recommended by the Ministry of Magic. Moreover, these two girls seem to be experiencing Apparition for the first time, and continuous jumps are not good for them. Therefore, a safe and stable Portkey is our best option."

His patient explanation to Lynn was not simply because this Ministry of Magic employee was so approachable to everyone.

Instead, Leon explicitly told Jack Lynn that he was his junior, and that he would have come to pick him up personally if it weren't for the fact that his position as supervisor was too conspicuous.

That's why Jack was so friendly to Lynn.

They walked up to the two witches who had arrived earlier, and between them lay a glass bottle lying quietly.

Hermione whispered in Lynn's ear.

"A group of wizards staring at a glass bottle, how eerie."

Lynn shrugged.

"Anything can be made into a Portkey. This Quidditch World Cup is no small event; at least tens of thousands of wizards from all over the world will be watching. In order to ensure that the Secrecy Act is not affected, the Ministry of Magic will naturally arrange for these inconspicuous things to be made into Portkeys."

While Lynn and Hermione were chatting, Jack was already looking at his pocket watch and starting the countdown.

"No one else should be coming. Time's up. Listen to my countdown. When I count to one, we'll touch this bottle together with our fingers."

"Three, two, one!"
