Chapter 395, Section 393: The Grand Mourning
Chapter 396, Section 393: The Grand Mourning (xdm)
Lynn was completely baffled that Harry could come to such a conclusion.
He couldn't imagine that Blake, with his burly appearance, would use such a timid code name as "Insect Tail".
"Yes! Your previous prophecy, and the signatures on this Marauder's Map—those four were supposed to be a team, but Black betrayed them in the end! Wormtail wanted to harm me, and Black wanted to harm me too, so Black is Wormtail!"
With his sharp mind, Harry cleverly connected all the clues and finally arrived at an answer.
He looked at Lynn with excitement, wanting to get a positive answer from her.
Lynn was stared at by Harry's eager gaze and didn't know how to answer him for a moment.
"Well, based on the clues we have so far, your reasoning doesn't seem wrong, but..."
Before Lynn could even utter the word "but," Harry excitedly interrupted him.
"That's the truth. This Marauder's Map was created by my dad and his team. People as smart as them wouldn't leave their real names on it."
So Moon Face, Worm Tail, Big Foot, and Pointed Fork are all nicknames they gave themselves.
Wormtail is Black. My dad is one of the remaining ones. I feel his code name is probably Fork. One of the remaining two code names is that of the wizard named Peter who has already sacrificed himself. I don't know who the other one is.
They were once close friends, but Black betrayed my father and joined Voldemort. Peter sacrificed himself for revenge, and Black was eventually imprisoned. Now he's escaped and is seeking revenge on me!
Harry's analysis was so logical and well-founded that no one could find fault with it. If Lynn hadn't read the original book and known the truth, he might have actually believed it.
Ron and Hermione looked bewildered, because they had never heard Lynn make that prophecy before.
"Lynn, you truly are a master of prophecy!" Harry gripped Lynn's hand tightly. "Your prophecy consisted of only one sentence, yet it foretold the truth of everything!"
Lynn was already numb to Harry's wild imagination. He squinted and pulled his hand away from Harry's, saying in a defiant tone, "What the hell?"
"Think whatever you want."
Harry was very emotional. There were only a few of them in the Gryffindor common room. Tom wasn't there; the boy was a very diligent student and even spent Christmas in the library. So all that could be heard in the common room was Harry shouting.
In the afternoon, Lynn assigned them tasks. Ron and Harry each had their own jobs, while Hermione simply watched from the sidelines.
Lynn went back to her dorm room halfway through the trip to get the camera she had brought from home last semester.
When Harry and his friends asked him questions, he explained that the joyful scene of Harry getting his revenge had to be recorded so that he could show it off to his grandchildren when he had many children and grandchildren in the future.
Look, this is the heroic figure your grandfather was when he captured his enemy!
Harry scratched his head, looking embarrassed, but didn't stop Lynn's actions; clearly, he thought it was a good idea.
Unfortunately, the photo of his grandfather beating his great-grandfather can only be used as a mere display of filial piety; Harry will probably never be able to boast about such a dark history in his lifetime.
As darkness fell outside the castle, a hazy full moon rose on the horizon.
It looks like we'll have some nice weather tonight.
As per Lynn's earlier plan, Harry took out the Invisibility Cloak passed down in his family and draped it over himself, Hermione, and Lynn.
Then Ron, carrying the mouse disguised as Spotted in his arms, walked ahead as if he were going out alone, while Lynn and the other two followed behind him using their invisibility cloaks.
Ron was actually very nervous, but he tried his best to appear calm and walked aimlessly out of the lounge.
He went down the stairs, and when he reached the eighth floor, a large black dog silently followed behind him.
The big dog's tracking skills were superb. He deliberately walked in the shadows under the candles, without making a sound, like a black phantom wandering in Hogwarts.
Blake didn't find Lynn and his group's whereabouts while they were invisible, but Lynn and his group saw him!
Harry stared wide-eyed at the black dog only three meters away from him, desperately clenching his lips to keep from gasping out.
He had never seen the dog at Hogwarts, nor had he ever imagined that Black would transform into an animal and infiltrate Hogwarts.
Animagus?
Hermione secretly used the linking spell to check on Black's current condition with Lynn.
They were so close to the black dog that even speaking in the lowest possible voice risked being discovered.
"That's right, it's Animagus. This proves that Black is a real dog; even the animal he transformed into is a dog."
Lynn still had the leisure to complain to Hermione while they were in the linking spell, but Harry didn't have that in mind.
He hadn't learned link magic, and the server Lynn created couldn't accommodate more people, so he naturally had no idea what they were secretly talking about.
Harry had only half-heartedly listened to the Transfiguration lesson and still didn't understand what Animagus magic was. This black dog shocked him greatly.
He finally understood why Black hadn't been caught even after escaping from Azkaban for so long.
If you didn't know beforehand, who would suspect that this black dog was the infamous Sirius Black?
Why would such a big black dog give itself such a timid nickname as "worm tail"?
Harry had already labeled Black as sinister in his mind. He was definitely trying to use his code name to mislead unsuspecting people and thus disguise himself!
What a cunning and wicked person!
Although Lynn and his two companions could see Blake clearly from behind, Ron, who was walking in front, had no idea that there were several people following behind him.
As planned, he had no way to contact Lynn and the others to confirm their whereabouts, so he could only continue along the agreed-upon route.
He walked from the Gryffindor tower to the first floor of the castle. The entire Hogwarts castle was silent, except for the sound of his own footsteps and the flickering of candlelight on both sides of the corridor.
Ron tightened his thick robes and then pushed open the castle gates in the darkness.
He went out first, followed by a dog and three others.
