Chapter 326, Section 323: The Guardian Cannon

"I'm a little cold to Lynn."

Before the train stopped, Umaru was huddled in Lynn's arms, looking quite unwell.

Ian and Cedric in the carriage also noticed that Umaru was acting strangely.

"Could she have a fever?"

Lynn reached out and touched Xiaomai's forehead; it was indeed a little hot, and she seemed to have a low-grade fever.

"That's what you got for staying up all night playing games."

While grumbling, Lynn helped her wrap her robe tighter, then took out several bottles of potions he always kept in his pocket, and picked out a bottle of a special medicine for treating fever and colds that he had swindled from Snape's office.

Open your mouth.

Little Mai, with her eyes closed, obediently opened her mouth after hearing Lynn's words, and then Lynn fed her little bites at a time.

"It's so bitter, Lynn," she muttered, frowning.

Ian handed Lynn a piece of honey candy that he had bought from the snack cart at noon, and Lynn peeled it open and put it into Xiaomai's mouth.

Snape's potions were reliable; not long after Umaru drank them, her face turned bright red, and steam began to rise from her head.

Lynn laid her down on the soft chair and was just about to take another robe from her suitcase to cover Xiaomai when the train suddenly slowed down.

Cedric looked out the car window in surprise: "Have we arrived at our destination?"

As he spoke, the train came to a complete stop. It was pitch black outside the windows, but it seemed that some people could be seen walking around outside.

Just then, all the lights in the carriage went out.

Footsteps echoed from the train aisle outside, and the young wizards curiously emerged from their compartments. At the same time, the surrounding temperature seemed to have suddenly changed seasons, dropping several degrees.

"The fireflies are twinkling."

Lynn, his face grim, extended his wand and used the Wand Illumination Charm. He pulled over a suitcase in the corner, pulled out a thick robe, wrapped it around Umaru, and then stood up to give instructions to Ian and Cedric.

"You guys stay here and watch over Umaru, I'm going out to check on her."

Ian keenly noticed that Lynn seemed to already know what was happening.

"What happened?"

Lynn opened the carriage door.

"Some smelly things are coming."

He closed the carriage door again, and Cedric and Ian could still hear him shouting to the young wizards who came out of the carriage.

"Go back! Go back to your carriages! Leave this to me!"

The young wizards, who had been startled by the sudden turn of events, fell silent upon seeing Lynn's figure in the train's aisle.

At this moment, the benefits of Lynn's prestige established at Hogwarts last semester became apparent, and the students outside the carriages obediently returned to their own carriages.

Lynn walked along the carriage towards the train door, and soon he reached the door of this carriage.

Several cloaked monsters, reaching the ceiling in height, entered. Their faces were completely covered by a black headscarf, and their entire bodies exuded an ominous and deathly chill.

The students in front of the door seemed to be frightened by the monster; they stood there dumbfounded.

A withered hand emerged from the cloak. The hand glowed faintly; it was gray, thin, and scabbed over, as if something had died and rotted in water.

Then, the thing under the headscarf took a long, slow, and trembling breath, as if trying to draw in something other than air from its surroundings.

The young wizards' eyes became vacant, and their lips and faces visibly began to turn white rapidly.

"You bastards don't even deserve to be called employees of the Ministry of Magic." Lynn coldly raised his wand.

The Dementors noticed Lynn speaking at this moment, and as if they had discovered a new dish, they were about to start enjoying Lynn's emotions when a blinding silver light suddenly shone in the small space of the carriage.

"Praetorian Guard (100% Boost)!"

Soft, bright silver light gushed out from the tip of Lynn's wand like a fountain, and finally a blinding, unknown object like a cannonball shot out from his wand!

A piercing scream echoed through the train. The moment Lynn released the Patronus Charm, the Dementors turned and ran out of the train as if they had encountered their natural enemy.

However, Lynn's Guardian Cannon was significantly faster than theirs, and the Dementor, lagging behind, had no chance to escape, striking the black robe behind it directly.

The sharp, piercing scream, like a cat's claws scratching at a blackboard, abruptly stopped.

The Dementor, struck by the Guardian Cannon, collapsed helplessly to the ground, while its companions fled without looking back, seemingly afraid that if they were too slow, they would end up like their friends.

Lynn raised an eyebrow as he watched the Dementor fall to the ground, its black robe gradually collapsing and turning into a pile of black powder that drifted away in the wind.

He hadn't expected his guardian spell, which hadn't even been fully formed yet, to be so powerful, especially since he hadn't chosen the triple amplification and had deliberately used the single amplification to test its effects first.

After the Dementors escaped, the young wizards whose emotions had been partially drained regained consciousness. They all felt a chill in their bodies and looked around blankly, not knowing what had happened.

"Go back to your own compartment and settle down. It would be best to eat a few pieces of chocolate; it will make you feel better."

After leaving those words, Lynn continued walking along the aisle. There were definitely more Dementors on the train than just these few. These disgusting monsters used the pretext of hunting down criminals, but actually wanted to board the train and find these little wizards to have a good meal for them.

Later, Lynn used the Patronus Charm to scare away several Dementors. After realizing how powerful his Patronus Cannon was, he stopped using the magical amplification effect of his inherited bloodline.

After all, if he were to kill a large number of Dementors, that would be a troublesome matter.

He walked all the way to the very last carriage, where another Dementor stood. Opposite it was a middle-aged man who looked somewhat disheveled and down on his luck, standing in front of a group of young wizards and negotiating with the Dementor.

"None of us hid Sirius Black under the cloak. Go."

The middle-aged man seemed to be trying to negotiate with the Dementor, but the Dementor was unmoved. It hadn't come here to catch any fugitives; it was simply hungry and wanted to have a delicious dinner.

The middle-aged man shook his head. He took out his wand, and just as he was about to chant a spell, a silvery-white light illuminated the carriage.
