Chapter 304, Section 301: The Castle's Achilles' Heel

"Is there anything you'd like to say?"

Lynn certainly wouldn't make the mistake of a talkative villain who, after achieving victory, gloats and spouts a lot of nonsense, only to let the heroes escape and leave behind potential problems for the future.

If Fontana were no longer of any use, he would have immediately sent her to her death with an Avada Kedavra, but clearly she was still hiding something.

Sure enough, after Lynn asked the question, Fontana looked at him with a miserable expression and said with a cold smile.

"Kill me, just like your great-uncle killed me back then."

Lynn looked at her, and a thought suddenly struck him. He stared at Fontana and asked her expressionlessly.

"Of course I'll kill you, but before you die, can you tell me where your fairy accomplice is now?"

Fontana's lips curled into a strange smile as she stared directly into Lynn's eyes.

"you guess."

Harry and his two friends quietly made their way to the corner of the stairs leading to the headmaster's office.

As Ron was about to step forward into the corridor, Hermione grabbed him from behind.

Ron turned around, puzzled, about to speak, but Hermione gestured for him to be quiet.

With Harry and Ron hiding behind her, Hermione crouched at the corner of the wall, cautiously peeking out.

When she saw an ugly creature with pointed ears squatting in front of the rock guarding the principal's office, she quickly pulled her head back.

Ron and Harry were both watching her nervously.

Hermione didn't speak, but nodded solemnly.

The three of them peeked out from top to bottom and, sure enough, saw the thing that had sneaked into the principal's office.

They had all been to Gringotts, so they naturally recognized what it was.

Why would this goblin infiltrate Hogwarts?

After pulling his head back, Harry asked in a low voice, puzzled.

Hermione calmly said, "What we need to care about now is not why it came in, but how to catch it."

Ron, eager to try, said, "That's easy. How about the three of us work together and use the Petrification Charm that Professor Lockhart taught us?"

"For insurance purposes, I think we should notify the professor first. If we fail, not only will we not be able to stop this fairy from doing what he wants, but he will also capture us and use us as hostages to threaten us."

Hermione isn't aiming to accomplish anything extraordinary right now; she just wants to help Lynn in the safest way possible.

"But we can't all leave, can we? What if the fairy runs away now?"

Harry said worriedly.

The three of them exchanged glances; none of them wanted to be the one to go find the professor at this moment.

Let's play rock-paper-scissors.

Hermione came up with an idea.

The three of them quickly played rock-paper-scissors to choose one person to go to the Great Hall to find the professor. In the end, Ron left, while Harry and Hermione stayed behind.

They both peeked out to carefully observe the fairy's movements.

The fairy was squatting at the entrance to the principal's office, next to the stone monster that usually acted as the principal's office doorman. However, the stone monster seemed to be under some kind of spell and could not make a sound, just like a dead monster, letting the fairy do whatever it wanted.

"Why doesn't he go into the headmaster's office?" Harry asked, puzzled, watching the goblin's actions.

Hermione kept a close eye on the goblin's every move, watching him try various spells on the stone goblin, seemingly trying to destroy it.

"His refusal to go into the principal's office may mean that he can accomplish what he wants to do without going inside, from the outside."

"You mean he wanted to destroy that rock?"

"Looking at what he's doing now, that's definitely the case."

The fairy seemed to have been struggling with the stone monster for a long time. He nervously observed the battle outside the castle, and finally looked around warily. After confirming that no one was around, he seemed to make a decision.

The goblin slowly retreated, standing about three meters away from the stone monster, his back to Hermione and Harry.

He extended his long, ugly finger and pointed it at the stone monster, chanting a spell that Hermione and the others couldn't understand.

The next moment, a sound like a firecracker exploding rang out, and a blinding orange-yellow flash of light swept across, filling the entire corridor with a strong smell of smoke.

The fairy used some kind of explosion magic on the stone monster, and some stone chips finally fell off the stone monster under his magic.

At the same time, Hogwarts Castle, which had only trembled twice under the immense force of the basilisk, suddenly developed a tiny crack in its ceiling.

With Hermione's quick wit, she immediately guessed what the goblin was up to.

"He's destroying Hogwarts Castle!"

Harry realized what was happening too, his eyes widening: "Through that stone monster!"

They exchanged a glance and both saw the shock in each other's eyes.

Who would have thought that the only thing capable of destroying Hogwarts would be the doorman guarding the headmaster's office!

The explosions were completely masked by Lynn's battle with the basilisk outside; apart from Harry and Hermione, no one else noticed what the goblin was doing.

After realizing that her attack had worked, the fairy, with a delighted expression, once again pointed her finger at the stone monster.

Hermione and Harry were getting anxious. Ron still hadn't brought the professor back, and who knew how much longer that stone golem could withstand the spell.

"We can't wait for the professor; we have to stop it."

While Hermione and Harry were talking, the goblin had already used that strange explosion spell again, and the cracks in the ceiling of the corridor widened.

This is only what Hermione and Harry can see; who knows what kind of damage has been done to the castle in places they can't see?

"How long will it take you to finish casting the petrification spell?" Hermione asked Harry seriously.

Harry swallowed nervously and excitedly: "It hasn't been tested carefully, but it should be within a second."

"Then you attack. My spellcasting speed isn't as fast as yours."

Harry pulled his wand from his sleeve and quietly aimed it at the goblin who had his back to them.

"Wait a minute, wait until he's casting his spell before you make your move," Hermione whispered instructions from the side.

The fairy was also waiting; he was waiting for the moment when the battle between the basilisk and Lynn outside would create a sound so he could suppress the sound of the Explosion Spell.

"Boom!"

Outside the castle, the colossal beast that blotted out the sky collapsed with a deafening roar, struck by Lynn's Killing Curse.

Under the cover of this sound, the goblin used the Explosion Charm, and Harry used the Petrify Charm at the same moment.

A dark red spell shot out silently from the corner like a venomous snake, striking the fairy precisely.

Tomorrow this volume will be finished. Whether you think it's good or bad, I was really tired writing it.

The story will become more relaxed and enjoyable after this volume ends.
