Chapter 239, Section 236: The Recognition of the Three Giants

The curfew at Hogwarts has begun.

Lynn also left the castle at this time, and he and Lady Grey came to an open grassy area outside the castle.

"How do you plan to destroy it?" Mrs. Grey couldn't help but ask.

"The Fiendfire spell, this magic can destroy the crown along with the Horcruxes inside." Lynn chose a spot near the Black Lake to prevent his Fiendfire from getting out of control and spreading towards the castle.

"I'm actually quite interested in the effects of this crown itself. Can wearing it really enhance one's wisdom?"

Ms. Grey had worn this crown before, so she certainly knew its specific effects.

"Yes, the crown can indeed enhance the wearer's wisdom, similar to taking Felix Felicis. However, you have to wear it all the time. Once you take it off your head, the effect will be gone."

Lynn felt that the effect of the golden crown was similar to his system title, which could increase his learning efficiency, but only when he was officially wearing it.

"If possible," Ms. Gray suddenly said with a conflicted expression, "do you have any way to destroy the remnant soul inside without damaging the crown?"

Lynn raised an eyebrow; even now, this ghost still harbored an obsession with the crown.

"That's impossible." He shook his head. "I've also studied the method of making Horcruxes. The moment an object is made into a Horcrux, it becomes one with the soul of its owner. There's no way to separate them except to destroy them together."

Among the magic books Rozier sent to Lynn was one called "Cutting-Edge Black Magic: Deciphering," which provided a complete and detailed explanation of how Horcruxes were made. This kind of magic was indeed evil and rare, but given Grindelwald and the Saints' abilities back then, they couldn't have failed to obtain it.

However, no one tried to use it. Lynn guessed that his great-uncle had long ago seen the flaw in this magic: the split soul would affect the user's emotions and even cause them to lose their rationality.

This alone was enough to make Grindelwald dismiss this dark magic.

He was actually an idealist, just like Dumbledore, and everything he did was not for his own selfish desires, but for the future of all wizards.

Compared to him, Voldemort's formation of the Death Eaters and his dark and oppressive rule over the wizarding world were merely to satisfy his own lust for power.

Ms. Grey looked at the crown with some regret. After all, it was something she had once pursued, but now she had no choice but to destroy it.

"Am I going to make my move?" Lynn raised his wand and turned to look at Ms. Grey.

Ms. Gray nodded slightly.

Ravenclaw's glory cannot be tainted by such evil things, and even if her mother were here, she would make the decision to destroy this crown.

Lynn waved his wand and cast Fiendfyre on the crown by the lake.

A tiny flame shot out from the tip of his wand, like a small snake made of flame, and moved somewhat clumsily toward the crown on the ground.

Fiendfire is very powerful; it can burn almost anything that can be burned, including water, soil, and stone. It doesn't even distinguish between friend and foe. Wizards with slightly weaker control over Fiendfire are very likely to perish under their own spell, which is why dark wizards rarely use this magic.

However, the Fiend Curse is not an unforgivable curse, so it can still be countered. For a skilled wizard, its threat is far less than that of the Killing Curse.

Because of the Fiendfyre curse's ability to burn anything, even the remnant soul of Voldemort hiding in the crown could not escape its effects.

As the fire serpent completely enveloped the crown, an ominous black mist rose from it, coalescing in mid-air into a terrifying human face that roared silently at Lynn and Lady Grey.

Ms. Grey was terrified by the sight, and her face became transparent as she floated back a distance.

Lynn stood motionless before the face. He could tell what Voldemort's remnant soul was saying, just like when he had captured Voldemort himself. He was cursing himself with the most vicious language, his words utterly unoriginal.

"You are a thing of the past, Voldemort," he said softly. "Don't worry, I won't leave any of your remaining Horcruxes behind. This world only needs one honest and kind Tom Riddle."

The black mist did not respond to Lynn's words, nor could it respond.

The fire serpent rose up, growing from the shape of a small earthworm to the size of a giant python. It coiled around the rising black mist, then opened its blood-red maw and swallowed Voldemort's remnant soul whole!

After Fiery Flame devoured the Soul Weapon, it did not stop. The scorching flames began to spread along the surrounding grass, reaching the surface of the Black Lake without stopping. The fire serpent stood upright, carrying immeasurable heat as it pounced straight at its master!

Lynn paid no attention to the Fiend's betrayal. He waved his wand lightly, and the massive Fiend vanished without a trace, leaving only a scorched earth.

Knowing how dangerous the Fiery Blaze was, he had already learned how to break the curse before formally practicing the Fiery Blaze Spell, just to prevent the situation that just happened.

"Is the threat from the mysterious man really gone? Just now... just now that was one of his souls." Seeing that Lynn had resolved the matter all by himself, Ms. Gray approached again.

As Lynn used a restoration spell to restore the scorched earth to its original state, he said, "Don't ask questions you shouldn't ask. Just tell me what you promised me."

He also tried using a restoration spell on the crown, which had already turned to dust, but it obviously had no effect.

This Ravenclaw relic is completely destroyed.

"Of course I will keep my promise." Ms. Grey held her head high, trying her best to remain haughty in front of Lynn.

Although Lynn was now standing before her in the guise of Hermione, his behavior and the magic he used gave Lady Grey the impression that he was as mature as an old wizard of the same age as Dumbledore.

"You need three things to confirm where that place is hidden."

Lynn frowned: "Things?"

Instead of answering his question, Ms. Gray continued, "The Ravenclaw door knocker eagle, the Gryffindor Sorting Hat, the Hodgepodge kitchen painting—you need to find these three things and ask them: Am I worthy of this honor? Whether they will tell you the place is up to you."

Lynn's brows furrowed. These three things all sounded related to the four great masters of Hogwarts, but why would they use these things that the hidden goblins built at Hogwarts?

Also, why are all three of the Big Three present, but Slytherin is missing?
