My Hogwarts has a serious problem.

Chapter 233, Section 231: Borrowing Your Identity

Chapter 234, Section 231: Borrowing Your Identity

Hermione, carrying a whole stack of spellbooks borrowed from the library, gently knocked on the door of Professor Flitwick's office.

Despite her slender arms and legs, she could lift six or seven brick-thick magic books with one hand, looking completely relaxed and without any pressure.

"Come in," came Professor Flitwick's voice from inside the office.

Hermione gently pushed open the door, and once inside, she began to struggle again, her thin arms tightly clutching the spellbook in front of her, her breathing slightly rapid, and she looked anything but relaxed.

"These are the books on various spell theories you requested," she said in a clear voice.

"Oh, thank you, Miss Granger. Those boys ran too fast, otherwise you wouldn't have needed to do this kind of work." Professor Flitwick, who wasn't even as tall as Hermione, stood up from his chair and helped take the books from Hermione's arms.

"Sit down and have a cup of tea to rest. If you're hungry, I have some small cakes here. Almost every Ravenclaw student who has been to my office has tried them, and they all say they taste pretty good."

Hermione didn't stand on ceremony with Professor Flitwick, drinking the tea he offered in one gulp. Then she took the rather nice-looking little cake and said goodbye to Professor Flitwick.

"I won't eat the cakes here, Professor. Harry and Ron are still waiting for me in the Great Hall."

"Okay, eat slowly, don't choke." Professor Flitwick said worriedly as he watched Hermione walk out of the office, stuffing small cakes into her mouth.

"Don't worry, Professor." Hermione left the office with a cake in her mouth.

Professor Flitwick watched her retreating figure and muttered to himself, "What an unpretentious girl."

Hermione devoured the small cake in a few bites, a look of enjoyment on her face.

Professor Flitwick's little cakes were indeed delicious; I'll have to raid his office next time I get the chance.

She sighed inwardly as she lightly skipped a few times down the corridor.

This Hermione is certainly not that Hermione; let's rewind the clock by 20 minutes.

"Of course I can help you, but you have to tell me the truth about what you want to do. I don't want to hear lies."

Hermione didn't ask Lynn what he needed help with first, because she would never refuse if Lynn asked her for a favor. However, Hermione really disliked the feeling that Lynn was hiding something from her, which made her feel very useless and that she didn't even have the right to know what Lynn was doing.

Lynn ruffled Hermione's hair, tilted his head back and thought for a moment, then spoke to Hermione, who was struggling to break free from his clutches.

"It's not that I can't tell you, but you absolutely cannot tell anyone, not even Harry and Ron."

Hermione held out a hand with a serious expression: "I promise!"

"No need to be so formal. We're like family, I don't trust you." Lynn waved her hand.

A thought suddenly occurred to him, an idea that required Hermione's help.

As for the Basilisk, it's not exactly a top secret. Telling Hermione alone isn't out of the question, but it absolutely mustn't be spread around. After all, the Basilisk's threat is still unknown, and causing panic is not Lynn's intention.

"I wasn't kidding you, I really was protecting Hogwarts." Lynn rattled off the story of how he found Tom's diary, how he went into the Chamber of Secrets to deal with the Basilisk, only to discover that the Basilisk had disappeared, and then told Hermione everything.

Aside from not mentioning the time converter, he explained that his reason for hiding in the shadows was to catch the real culprit who took the basilisk away. He told her everything else he could, and then frankly admitted it.

"Besides these, there are some other things I'm hiding, but I can't tell you about them right now due to some issues. However, I can tell you later. Of course, you can also use your intelligence to guess. If you can guess correctly, I can give you a reward."

The things Lynn was hiding were, of course, the Time-Turner and Professor Lockhart, which he certainly couldn't tell Hermione right now.

We can tell her about the time converter after September 21st, but as for the professor, he'll have to guess for himself.

Lynn and Dumbledore promised not to tell anyone about it.

After listening to Lynn's story, Hermione looked at him with concern.

"Why does this have to be done by you? Can't Professor Dumbledore do it? Or can't we find another professor?"

Lynn shook his head: "Professor Dumbledore will take action after we find the basilisk, but it's undoubtedly most convenient for me to find out who took the basilisk away and where it's hidden. If the professors take action, it will alert the basilisk. If the real culprit is a junior wizard, he can simply move the basilisk to another location and wait for things to calm down before it comes out to do evil again."

"But you're only in third grade, this is too dangerous. Even if we really have to give this task to a student, we should choose an older wizard." Hermione was still worried about Lynn's safety.

"It's okay. You know, I'm actually most afraid of dying. I wouldn't rush to the front if I wasn't sure."

"So how do you want me to help you?" Hermione didn't try to persuade Lynn any further; she knew that once Lynn made up her mind, no one could change it.

Lynn looked Hermione up and down, then stroked his chin and said.

"I need to borrow your identity."

Hermione stared at him blankly: "Me, my identity?"

"I've actually found some clues about the Basilisk's new hideout. These clues are in the hands of Lady Grey, the ghost of Ravenclaw. However, for some reasons I can't reveal right now, I can't contact Umaru, nor can I appear in public at Hogwarts using my true identity. So I need your help, Hermione. I want to use your identity to contact Lady Grey and ask her about the goblins building the cellar entrance in Hogwarts Castle," Lynn said earnestly to Hermione.

"Then what should I do? There can't be two Lynns at Hogwarts at the same time, so there certainly can't be two Hermiones at the same time, right?"

Lynn exclaimed, "That's brilliant! Of course, there can't be two identical people in Hogwarts, that would cause a huge problem. So I have another task for you."

He pointed to the wall behind them.

"Have you ever heard of the Room of Requirement? When I appeared in your guise, you hid in the Room of Requirement first."

Hermione looked at Lynn blankly, then slowly figured out what Lynn meant.

She said with a dark expression, "So you don't actually want my help at all, you just want to use my identity to show off?"

That's the truth, but we can't say it so bluntly.

Lynn coughed twice and said righteously, "Of course not. Your task is actually very important, Hermione. I'll borrow some medieval books about fairies from the library later. You can help me check whether those fairies really did build a treasure trove in Hogsmeade."
