133. Evil spirits causing trouble
Lynn, who hadn't slept all night, was just as energetic the next day.
The improvement in his physique and magic points has brought him comprehensive enhancement. In his current state, unless he maintains a state of mental tension for three days and three nights, not sleeping for one night will not have much of an impact on him.
There are three classes today: Transfiguration and Charms in the morning, and Potions in the afternoon.
Lynn didn't plan to attend any classes, but he also didn't intend to skip any, at least not his own headmaster's class, otherwise who knew how long the petty Snape would criticize him for this later.
If you're not going to skip class, then ask for leave openly and honestly.
Lynn used magic to turn his face deathly pale, then went to Snape's office looking utterly dejected.
"Professor, it rained and got colder yesterday. I didn't cover myself properly with the blanket last night, and I think I caught a cold this morning. So I'd like to ask for a day off to rest in my dorm," Lynn said weakly.
Snape seemed to be writing some potion information. He glanced up at Lynn and snorted coldly.
"Stop pretending. If you want to take leave, just say so. Your little trick of faking illness is not as convincing as the quick-acting truancy candy invented by those two idiots Weasley in Gryffindor."
Lynn chuckled awkwardly. He had almost forgotten that such a simplistic act of feigning illness wouldn't fool any experienced teacher.
"Don't cause me any trouble, or you know the consequences. I've approved your leave request. Now get out of here," Snape said without looking up.
This is the preferential treatment given to good students. It's only because Lynn came that he's allowed to do this. If it were a Slytherin like Goyle or Crabbe who dared to feign illness and ask for leave, Snape would probably punish him with a month of detention. He wouldn't be called Severus Snape; he should be called Severus Potter instead.
After his leave was approved, Lynn did not return to his dormitory but went straight to the Room of Requirement. He planned to practice Animagus transformations there for the entire morning to see if he could reach the point where he could transform without a wand or incantations.
It wasn't as difficult as he had imagined. He didn't know if it was because he was exceptionally talented, or if Animagus Transfiguration was simply difficult to learn at first but easy afterward.
During the second transformation, he felt that the spell was not very effective. The third time, he tried to transform without chanting the spell, but only by waving the wand and succeeded.
In just one morning, Lynn achieved his goal; he can now shapeshift without a wand or spell.
Just as he expected, in the Animagus Transfiguration spell that didn't require a wand, the wand he had hidden in his sleeve turned into a feather from a raven.
Lynn arrived at the auditorium during lunchtime.
The atmosphere at the Ravenclaw table looked rather strange.
The eaglets were all very nervous, even their meals became jerky and startling.
Lynn sat down next to Cedric and Ian, popped a piece of roast meat into his mouth, and casually asked.
"What's wrong with your college?"
Ian wasn't in the common room last night, but he had heard about what happened when he woke up this morning.
"Our common room was haunted last night."
Cedric had just sat down when he glared at the fat monk who was chatting amiably with the young wizard at the Hufflepuff table.
"Isn't Hogwarts haunted every day?"
Ian shook his head.
"It's different. Although I don't know how it's different, the prefect said this morning that the rest room was haunted by evil spirits, which is not the same as normal ghosts. Many people have testified that they saw it with their own eyes yesterday."
He then recounted in detail what he had heard to Lynn and the others.
"They said that when they entered yesterday, no one answered the door knocker's question, so the door knocker opened the door by itself. Then, after everyone outside went into the common room, the door didn't close by itself. The prefect and a first-year student went out to check if the door knocker was broken and were locked out. Just before curfew, the door was suddenly opened from the inside, but no one came out."
Cedric said hesitantly.
"Are you really sure it's not Mischievous Ghost playing tricks?"
"No, I heard that Peeves was teasing the young wizards who were locked out of the Gryffindor common room at the time."
"That is indeed quite strange."
Cedric exclaimed, and Ian nodded in agreement.
Only Lynn remained unfazed, drinking pumpkin juice from her cup through a straw.
Heh, that's right, these must all be the work of evil spirits, what does it have to do with him, the upright gentleman Lynn Bellock?
"By the way, I've asked to skip potion class this afternoon. You'll need to find someone to team up with to brew potions."
Lynn took Potions class with Ravenclaw in his second year; before that, he always teamed up with Ian to make potions together.
Cedric and Ian seemed somewhat surprised.
"What's wrong with you?"
Lynn shook his head and said.
"It's nothing, I just discovered something and need to check it out."
As a friend, Lynn didn't want to lie to them, but it was true that she couldn't tell the truth about these things.
Cedric and the others were already used to Lynn's behavior. For example, regarding the practice of the modified Soul Sealing Spell, they still didn't know what Lynn was trying to do.
After lunch, Lynn went straight out of the castle to the place where he had transformed into an Animagus the day before. There, he turned into a raven and flapped his wings, flying out of Hogwarts.
Upon arriving in Hogsmeade, Lynn flew straight to a branch next to the Hog's Head pub. Following his memory, he identified a window, which was the room where the hunchbacked old man who had made the deal with Quirrell had lived.
The room was empty; the old man was clearly not inside.
Lynn flew to the ground and pretended to be looking for food, hopping around in front of the Pighead Bar.
He could barely make out what was inside the bar through the window.
The reason it was barely acceptable was because the glass was so dirty, dusty and grimy, as if it had never been cleaned.
Soon, he spotted the old man.
He was sitting alone at a table in the corner, drinking.
