128. A snake enters an eagle's nest
Lynn, who did good deeds anonymously, did not stay where he was after scaring away Peeves.
He walked past the group of young wizards who were still discussing why Peeves had suddenly run away and continued upstairs.
Lynn didn't actually have any goals or purposes right now; he was simply enjoying the thrill of being invisible. He continued climbing the stairs, which were bustling during the day but became much quieter at night, as if they were asleep.
He arrived at the fifth floor of the castle, and as soon as he stepped out from the corner of the stairs, he saw a familiar figure.
It's Hermione.
She was carrying a thick, brick-like book and several sheets of parchment covered with words, as if she had just returned from the library.
She muttered to herself as she walked toward the Gryffindor common room.
"Demon Yurik, freak Emeric; Demon Yurik, freak Emeric..."
Lynn realized that she was being taught first-year history of magic, but she was reciting it all wrong.
As she passed by Lynn, Lynn suddenly whispered a reminder.
"It's the demon Emeric, the freak Yuric."
"Oh! Yes, it's the demon Emeric, the freak Yuric. Thank you."
Hermione instinctively thanked them, then suddenly startled and looked around.
"Who's there?"
No one answered her, because the surroundings were empty and there was no one else around.
Hermione frowned; the voice sounded familiar. She asked again.
"Lynn?"
There was still no response, because Lynn had already left.
After reminding the little girl that she had recited the history of magic incorrectly, he turned and continued up the stairs.
Lynn didn't want Hermione to know he could turn invisible so soon, as that would undoubtedly take away a lot of his fun.
He continued to wander through the castle, where he encountered Nick, the nearly headless ghost of Gryffindor, Mrs. Lorris, Filch's cat, and the Weasley brothers who were trying to plant a booby trap in front of Filch's door...
They couldn't see Lynn, but Lynn could see them.
Lynn finally understood why Harry and Ron loved going out at night after they got the Invisibility Cloak—the feeling of being invisible was just too wonderful.
Before he knew it, Lynn had arrived at the westernmost tower of Hogwarts Castle. He climbed a long and winding staircase and walked for a long time before finally arriving at a wooden door with a conspicuous bronze eagle-shaped knocker on it.
With such obvious signage, he recognized this as the Ravenclaw lounge at a glance.
Lynn had no intention of sneaking into the other college lounges, but he was quite interested in the eagle-shaped bronze door knocker.
It is said that Ravenclaw wizards do not mind wizards from other houses entering their house's common room.
But to enter Ravenclaw's lounge, one must answer a question about the eagle-shaped bronze door knocker.
He had heard Ian say that when they first enrolled, the Ravenclaw prefects told them that no outsiders had entered the Ravenclaw common room for thousands of years.
Lynn thought it was a bit impossible. Even if the problem of the bronze door knocker was difficult, if the young wizards of Ravenclaw could answer it, there was no reason why the young wizards of other houses couldn't.
After all, the Sorting Hat is responsible for selecting the most suitable houses, but many young wizards often possess multiple qualities.
Take Hermione, for example; she's suitable for both Gryffindor and Ravenclaw.
And Lynn himself, Professor Fox has said more than once that when he first met him, he thought he would be sorted into Gryffindor.
Therefore, what the Ravenclaw prefects told the new students was either boasting, or someone had come in without their knowledge, or there was some other magic in the Ravenclaw common room preventing outsiders from entering.
Lynn had been standing in front of the wooden door for a short while when she heard footsteps coming from not far away.
A group of young Ravenclaw wizards walked over.
"Hopefully, today's riddle hasn't changed yet."
"Do you remember what the answer to that riddle was again?"
"The riddle that Campbell solved this morning, you forgot? The answer is the sun."
"Oh right, it's the sun."
They gathered in front of the wooden door, recalling the answer to the question about the bronze door knocker from today.
Someone knocked on the door knocker, and the bronze eagle suddenly spoke.
"A gust of wind, a boat, six sailors rowing together, and a helmsman in charge of everything."
The young wizard who knocked on the door scratched his head.
"The riddle seems to have changed."
But these young Ravenclaw wizards weren't worried about being locked out at all; instead, they were eager to see who could solve the puzzle first.
This is very Ravenclaw.
Lynn looked at the group of young wizards, each of them looking very small, probably a year below him, and must be a first-year student who had just enrolled this year.
He watched with great interest as the eaglets solved the riddles, seeing them guess one answer after another, but the wooden door showed no sign of opening.
This riddle isn't actually difficult; anyone with a little imagination can usually figure it out. However, for these freshmen who have only been in Ravenclaw for less than a year, it's undoubtedly a difficult puzzle.
"Could the answer be a musical instrument?"
"It's a little eagle guessing," one of the eagles guessed.
Lynn, hidden in the shadows, nodded and muttered to himself, "That's right, the answer should be the flute."
The next moment, as if sensing something, the bronze eagle door knocker opened the wooden door with a creak.
The young Ravenclaw wizards looked bewildered.
They looked at each other and at their companions around them.
"So who guessed it?" someone asked.
But all the eaglets shook their heads, indicating that it wasn't them.
One of the young wizards hesitated and said.
"Maybe... the door knocker is broken?"
"Should we report this to Professor Flitwick?"
"Let's talk to the prefect first, just in case we've made a mistake."
They filed in and entered the Ravenclaw common room.
After satisfying his wicked sense of humor, Lynn was about to turn and leave when he suddenly felt a gaze fixed on him.
He looked in the direction of his gaze and found that it wasn't a person, but the bronze eagle door knocker on the wooden door.
After the young Ravenclaw wizard went inside, the wooden door was not closed; it was ajar, as if waiting for someone to come in.
Lynn looked at the bronze eagle and tentatively pointed to himself.
"Are you waiting for me to come in?"
The bronze eagle did not reply; it seemed to only speak riddles.
"But I'm not Ravenclaw, I'm a Slytherin."
Lynn still received no response.
He glanced at the half-open wooden door, feeling conflicted.
As everyone saw, it wasn't him who wanted to go in and spy; it was the Ravenclaw gatekeeper who invited him in, and he couldn't refuse such hospitality...
After finding a reason for herself, Lynn immediately felt relieved of her mental pressure.
He sneaked into the Ravenclaw common room.
It looked like a small snake sneaking into an eagle's nest.
