The mastermind behind Hogwarts

Chapter 716 The Veil of Death!

Chapter 716 The Veil of Death!

"Brother Moriarty?"

Hermione called Moriarty twice, but he didn't respond.

Hermione stretched out her right hand and waved it in front of Moriarty.

"How are you?"

"Hey!"

Hermione was getting anxious.

"Okay, I was just distracted and remembered something."

Moriarty took Hermione's small hands in his own, feeling how smooth and tender they were, and began to gently caress them.

He played with it while talking.

"Professor Sybil Trelawney's words about you—it's definitely a genuine prophecy."

Hermione panicked immediately: "Huh? Does that mean..."

Moriarty extended an index finger and pressed it against Hermione's lips, gently rubbing them.

He continued, "But it would be too arbitrary to regard it as a prophecy; it's more like a warning than a prophecy!"

"After all, prophecy itself contains a warning meaning."

"Professor Sybil Trelawney must have had a premonition, and your appearance that day happened to touch a nerve with her sensitive and fragile nerves. That's how the so-called death prophecy came about."

With his brain enhanced by the Alchemy Matrix and magical AI, Moriarty could easily recreate a small scene.

After hearing this, Hermione tilted her head thoughtfully, unconsciously sticking out the tip of her tongue and gently licking Moriarty's index finger.

My fingers felt tingly and itchy, which was extremely comfortable.

Moriarty squinted. "That little kitten is really something!"

But he added, "Perhaps you have some connection to that place."

"That place?" Hermione's tongue retracted, and she asked, puzzled, "Where is that place?"

"Didn't you notice?" Moriarty patted Hermione's head and chuckled. "You lose all logic when it comes to anything involving Professor Sybil Trelawney, don't you?"

"That's not good."

Hermione lowered her head shyly, blushing slightly.

Moriarty's large hand stroked down her head, kneading Hermione's cheek.

He said with obvious affection, "Let me tell you."

"That prophecy refers to the veil of death!"

"The specific location is in the Department of Mysteries at the Ministry of Magic."

"Legend has it that those who pass through the veil of death will die forever, while others say they go to another world."

"In short, it's an ominous place."

Hermione's pretty face hardened with a defiant expression as she glared at the clouds on the horizon: "How annoying! What right does she have to make such a prediction about me?"

"I have absolutely no connection to the veil of death!"

"Yes, you don't, and I won't let you be associated with anything ominous." Moriarty pressed Hermione's forehead against his own.

"But perhaps I'm connected to the veil of death?"

"Or rather, the people I know—my enemies—are most likely connected to the Veil of Death!"

"!"

Hermione froze.

"Is it the Immortal Organization?" she asked sullenly.

"Yes," Moriarty nodded, his chin gently rubbing against Hermione's head, "besides Light and Gump, I can't think of anyone else this bored!"

"What two annoying guys," Hermione muttered under her breath, then called out, "Let me help you!"

"Perhaps I really do have some connection to this veil of death?"

"Maybe this can help you?"

Hermione felt boundless courage at the mere mention of the enemy.

She is no longer the little kitten who loves to drink milk, but a little lion.

Moriarty hesitated for a moment, then shook his head.

"No, at least not now."

"I do acknowledge your intelligence, but we are in the open while the enemy is in the shadows. Let's investigate first before making a decision."

Hermione nodded in deep agreement.

Both of them are action-oriented; they act on their ideas immediately!

……

Hermione went to find information about the Death Veil.

Moriarty wrote a letter to Lohart, instructing him to inspect the Department of Mysteries.

Herbal medicine class in the afternoon.

Slytherin and Ravenclaw go together.

Moriarty sat between Lilith and Penelope as usual.

He was surrounded by two beautiful women, enjoying the bliss of having two wives.

Herbalism in sixth grade is a large course.

They will spend the entire semester learning about and cultivating a magical plant.

Lumpy vine pods!

Pomona Sprout explained the plant from the podium, but the theoretical part was rather uninteresting.

The young wizards below seemed listless, or were simply doing their own thing.

But once they get to the practical part, they complain endlessly.

Penelope nudged Moriarty with her elbow as she took notes.

"I heard Hermione's been investigating the Death Veil everywhere, what's going on?"

Moriarty wasn't surprised; as Penelope was Hermione's senior in the same house, Hermione couldn't possibly not ask her about it.

"It's related to my enemies," Moriarty said briefly.

"I've already given Hermione all the relevant information and data from our college." Penelope wasn't sure if it would make a difference, but she wanted to help Moriarty.

Lilith joined the conversation.

She said, "According to the intelligence I have, the Department of Mysteries is one of the earliest departments established by the Ministry of Magic."

"But for hundreds of years, no one has known exactly what the work of this department is."

After she finished speaking, Lilith herself laughed.

"Sigh, this intelligence is definitely useless."

"Previous ministers didn't take the Department of Mysteries seriously, but now it seems that this is what Gamp wanted, his way out."

Moriarty said to the two girls, "Alright, don't think about that. Let's get to the lesson. I'll handle it."

"Listening to the lecture is one thing," Lilith poked Moriarty's forearm with her quill, "but could you please put your hands off our thighs?"

"No way."

……

The day's classes have ended.

Moriarty received Lockhart's reply at dinner time.

As he took the letter, he chased away Jericho, who was feeding Poseidon.

Jericho fed Poseidon like cattle, and in six years, Poseidon went from a handsome owl to a handsome fat owl.

Upon hearing its master's words, Poseidon let out an innocent coo and flew away amidst Jericho's reluctant gaze.

Seeing this, Soldaya put his arm around Jericho's shoulder and said, "Let's open a farm together sometime. You'll be in charge of feeding the animals, and I'll be in charge of slaughtering them. May the business thrive!"

"Get lost!" Jericho said irritably. "I fatten up these cute little animals not so you can eat them."

"What's that for?"

"I'll eat it myself, hehe~"

The two laughed and joked, but Moriarty's expression grew increasingly grim.

Just because!

The letter said...

Lockhart received Moriarty's letter, canceled all his work, and led Leon's Auror squad into the Department of Mysteries.

Here, Lockhart had a cordial and friendly exchange with the current director, Stan, who gave a very professional report on the work of the Department of Mysteries.

However, when Lockhart inquired about some secrets of the Department of Mysteries, Stan was completely clueless.

Lockhart, a master of memory, could tell at a glance whether Stan was unaware of the truth or simply didn't know.

Stan genuinely didn't know!

If Stan knew but didn't want to say, that would be understandable.

It seems that none of the ministers in the past have taken charge of the Department of Mysteries.

But Stan is not.

As the director, he knew absolutely nothing!

Lockhart concluded that Stan was a puppet, and that the real master here was someone else.

He pretended to be nonchalant and withdrew, sending Leon and a large number of Aurors to surround the Department of Mysteries.

Everything depends on Moriarty's decision.
