The mastermind behind Hogwarts
Chapter 71 Chaotic Battle
Chapter 71 Chaotic Battle (Please continue reading!)
The werewolf Gorgri arched his shoulders, and more black hair grew on his face, hands, and legs. His fingers bent into sharp claws, and with a light slash at his legs, he severed the ghost snake.
The venomous snakes on the ground opened their mouths and bit the werewolf's legs, only to find that their fangs could not penetrate the werewolf's flesh and were instead pricked by the werewolf's fur.
The werewolf's tough fur provided it with a great deal of magic resistance, and dozens of spells were fired from the chaotic crowd, most of which failed to harm the werewolf.
Moriarty was the first to rush to the store entrance. He cast "Super Armor" on himself to block the spells coming from all directions, and launched an attack on Gorgri.
"Flames blazing! Flames blazing! Flames blazing!"
Moriarty, taking advantage of the werewolf's lack of magic, unleashed wave after wave of fire, quickly engulfing the little red shop in flames.
Most people retreated, looking at Moriarty in awe amidst the flames—everyone knew that the Little Red Shop belonged to the largest werewolf settlement in France, and no one dared to burn it down!
A small group of people were also eager to take advantage of the chaos to loot the small red shops.
Gegri was furious. He leaped high into the air and was in front of Moriarty in an instant. His ten sharp claws gleamed coldly, like ten swords slashing down at Moriarty!
"Touch of Frost!" Moriarty transformed his hands into a pair of icy hands, grabbing the werewolf's wrist with his left hand and turning his right hand into an icy fist, slamming it into the werewolf's claws.
The moment the two made contact, a chill quickly enveloped Gegri's arms and spread toward his heart and head.
The freezing occurred much faster than Gegri had anticipated; in the blink of an eye, he and Moriarty were joined by arms—the ice had created two ice sleeves for their arms, connecting them in a bizarre posture.
Gegri was horrified to discover that the muscles and blood in his arms were gradually congealing, but the person opposite him did not react at all, as if he had not been frozen.
Moriarty used his arms to sever the connection with Gorgri. With a muffled "crack," Gorgri's left hand broke off at the wrist. The black left hand became like glass and shattered on the ground. The claw of his right hand was broken off at the root.
Moriarty's hands were unharmed. He pressed his wand against Gorgri's chest, and the surging magic stirred up gusts of wind, causing his wizard's robes to flutter.
The other two werewolves dared not move, and the crowd was also stunned into silence, except for the screams of the wounded Gegri.
Gegri was defeated far too quickly!
The vampires, lurking in the shadows and preparing to attack Moriarty, cursed inwardly.
They could tell that this werewolf had high magic resistance and great strength, but was not good at magic. He could only switch between wolf form and human form, but could not use magic to change his body structure.
Water elemental magic flowed into Gegri's blood through the wound, freezing his organs and internal organs from the inside out.
Seeing that Gorgri was growing weaker, Moriarty decisively activated Legilimency to search his memories, but unfortunately the werewolf's brain was not quick enough—he only knew that vampires were targeting elves, but not why!
The trail went cold again! Moriarty slammed his hand on Gorgri's head, and a chill enveloped the wolf's head, turning Gorgri into a complete ice sculpture.
The other two werewolves, trembling with fear, ran into the crowd. Moriarty pointed his wand into the air, and ten emeralds, like ten small meteorites, emitted an eerie green light and whistled as they hurtled down on the werewolves' heads.
The crowd scattered with a whoosh, completely descending into chaos. More and more people looted the goods and fought, with thousands of people running around in all directions.
Moriarty realized this was a good opportunity to escape. He waved his wand, took away the emerald that had killed the werewolf, pulled his hood over his head, and hurriedly left in the northwest direction.
The vampires lurking in the shadows, witnessing this scene, knew that if they didn't act now, they would miss their chance.
They cursed, "Useless werewolves, a bunch of trash! Let's go! Catch up with this wizard, kill him, take his jewels, and bring that leprechaun with us!"
The little girl was still tied to the rope. As the fire grew, the rope burned through, and the girl nimbly jumped to the ground. She blinked and looked around. There were flames and screaming crowds everywhere!
The girl realized that the only safe place for her was to stay with the white-haired wizard!
The little girl remembered the moment she locked eyes with Moriarty; a strange feeling calmed her down amidst her panic.
But when she looked for Moriarty again, she found dark shadows flying towards her. She forced herself to take a step, but her legs trembled uncontrollably as she watched helplessly as pairs of blood-red pupils drew closer and closer to her.
At that moment, a brilliant red flame shot out from the flames behind her.
"Faint down!" a loud female voice shouted, and a vampire immediately collapsed to the ground!
Then came several more spells!
"Torn apart!"
He collapsed to the ground, completely unconscious!
"Obstacles are numerous!"
A group of people emerged from the firelight: a short man, a red-haired boy, and a middle-aged man. Led by a tall woman, they attacked the vampire!
The red-haired boy shouted loudly, trying to create a commotion: "The Aurors are here! You have nowhere to go!"
The people here all chose to flee for their lives, and the vampires, not wanting to linger any longer, went after Moriarty, seeing that there was no hope of taking Meva.
Fleur breathed a sigh of relief. She stared blankly at the tall woman emerging from the firelight, tears streaming down her face: "Mrs. Maxim!"
"Furong! Come here, let's see who dares to touch my student!" Maxim strode towards Furong, his footsteps creaking on the burning wooden planks, the firelight illuminating her face.
Fleur regained her strength and rushed to Maxim. Maxim picked her up, stroked her head, and comforted her, "Oh Merlin, you must have been terrified! Don't be afraid, child, you're safe now."
"Furong, my daughter!" A male voice, trembling with sobs, rang in Furong's ears. Only then did Furong realize that her father was standing behind Mrs. Maxim, his face already streaked with tears.
"I'm sorry, Dad, I made you worry."
Fleur broke free from Madam Maxim's embrace and wept bitterly with her father. After they calmed down, Mr. Delacour, wiping away his tears, said, "My father was lucky; he ran into Madam Maxim and Professor Flitwick of Hogwarts after leaving the Ministry of Magic, and—excuse me, young sir, what is your name?"
Mr. Delacour smiled sheepishly at a red-haired boy not far away. The red-haired boy didn't mind and chuckled, "Charlie Weasley, I must remind you, this is not the place to talk. The Aurora is coming soon. Do you think they will be angry with us when they see the mess here? I think we'd better leave as soon as possible."
"That's right, we'll leave right away!" Mr. Delacour's face turned ashen as he recalled the argument he had with the Auror's office director in front of the Department of Magic.
He glanced at Mrs. Maxim, who nodded and called out to the dwarf chasing the vampire ahead, "Professor Flitwick?"
"Madame Maxim!" Professor Flitwick responded in his shrill voice as he conjured fire dragons from the raging flames, driving the vampires into a rout.
After the last vampire fled northwest, Professor Flitwick returned to the group. Madam Maxime said to him, "Fleur is safe and sound. I think we can leave now. Charlie Weasley is Hogwarts' representative in this year's European Wizarding Tournament. We can't let the Ministry of Magic see him at the underground stock exchange!"
Professor Flitwick knew this, of course. He brought Charlie to Paris for the competition, where they were received by Mrs. Maxime and taken to the French Ministry of Magic to report. There they met Mr. Delacour and learned that Fleur had been kidnapped.
Flitwick wouldn't have come if Mrs. Maxim hadn't sought their help.
Charlie's background is clean. If the French Aurors saw Hogwarts students frequenting the underground exchange, what would the French Ministry of Magic think? No matter what trouble the Delacour family is in, they can't drag him into it.
After discussing it, the group decided to leave the underground exchange as soon as possible, but then they heard a series of explosions coming from the northwest!
The All England Wizarding Tournament is the official setting, while the European Wizarding Tournament is a fan-made adaptation of this book. It is held every four years, and this year's event is in Paris. Read on for more details.
