Chapter 631 The Four Great Masters of Hogwarts Through the Eyes of the Goblins (Part 1)
In the study.
Thanks to Lilith's reminder, Moriarty avoided the trap of the time-tamper and turned his attention to the rest of the details.
"Counting back a thousand years, when Light rescued Gamp and the other two from Ishcher, Light has appeared a total of three times!"
"If a time converter is not a necessary condition for the appearance of light, then there must be another way."
"Time travel..."
"Time travel..."
Moriarty pondered deeply, wondering what the possible way to travel through time would be.
The hands of the clock turn round and round, and time passes little by little.
"Tick-tock, tick-tock..."
Sweat dripped from Moriarty's forehead, landing on the black wooden table and pooling into a small puddle.
Moriarty had never strained his brain cells so much; the last time he broke a sweat was when he was competing with Nicolas Flamel to create the alchemy prop shop.
It was the same thought process, the same sweat, but this time, Moriarty failed to solve the problem.
"call…"
Moriarty exhaled a breath of stale air. He was completely clueless and still couldn't find a way for light to travel through time. He couldn't find even the slightest detail, let alone a flaw.
"Looks like I need some fresh air."
Moriarty rubbed his sore eyes as he walked out of the study. The house-elf Luke and the goblin Ingo were already waiting outside the door.
"We were sent by Lady Narcissa. She said that you would need us sooner or later, young master."
"Hehe, she's not wrong."
Moriarty felt a warmth in his heart. No matter how powerful the enemy was, he always had all kinds of support behind him.
"Take me to the Fairy King," Moriarty commanded.
Upon hearing "Fairy King," Ingo's eyelids twitched violently.
Moriarty saw it all, but said nothing.
Moriarty already knew that Ingo was connected to the fairy royal family.
Moriarty had kept quiet all along, deliberately sparing the Fairy King's life, all for today—Ingo might need him now.
Upon reaching the castle dungeon, it was still filled with venomous snakes, clumps of them covering the entire floor.
The Fairy King was bound into a mummy by ropes transformed from a black snake and lay on the ground.
"Waaaaah..."
Upon seeing Moriarty, the Fairy King's eyes flashed with malice, his mouth sealed shut.
"Hmph." Moriarty sneered at this and walked into the dungeon. The viper, upon seeing Moriarty, immediately became a docile child, just like seeing its parents.
Ingo's expression changed slightly. "Young Master, we'll go out first. If you need anything, just let us know."
With that, Ingo and Luke slowly retreated outside.
However, halfway there, Moriarty's indifferent voice came: "Ingo, stay."
Ingo's face turned deathly pale, but he dared not disobey Moriarty's order. He stopped and Luke went out alone.
The dungeon doors closed, plunging the dungeon into complete darkness.
Moriarty waved his hand at the wall, and a few flames drifted onto the wall, lighting up several lamps and illuminating the dungeon.
"Smack."
Moriarty snapped his fingers, and the Fairy King floated down from the ground to Moriarty's front.
"Ingo, look at it. Do you recognize this face?"
Ingo took two steps forward with its head down, sensing the killing intent in Moriarty's indifferent voice.
The fairy slowly raised her head, a movement that seemed quite difficult. She blinked her two large, protruding eyes and carefully examined the Fairy King.
The snake rope binding the Fairy King was partially untied, and the Fairy King poked his head out, looking angrily at Ingo.
The two fairies met face to face. The Fairy King's eyes were still filled with malice and anger, but Ingo's eyes gradually became moist.
Moriarty's lips curled into a playful smile. In the firelight, Ingo and the Fairy King did look somewhat alike!
"Young Master," Ingo's voice trembled slightly, "it is my grandson."
"Huh?" The Fairy King's eyes widened in disbelief, and he vehemently protested, "Waaaaaah!"
Moriarty gave Ingo a deep look. "A true master doesn't reveal his abilities," he thought. "Ingo is the Fairy King's grandfather!"
His own Salazar ancestors really left him a good piece of the game!
However, Moriarty still had a lingering doubt: "Ingo, the Fairy King doesn't seem to quite agree with what you say."
"Young Master, let me explain," Ingo said bitterly.
Seeing the approval in Moriarty's eyes, Ingo sighed and said, "I thought I'd never see it again, Legnac IV!"
"Legnak?"
This name sounds familiar.
"Let me think," Moriarty pondered, "Is it the goblin king Legnark, who forged the Gryffindor sword for Godric of Gryffindor?"
"Yes," Ingo lowered his head, while the Fairy King let out an even more violent sob, his eyes filled with madness. Ingo ignored him and continued, "Young Master, you once judged that among fairies, the longer the name, the higher the status, and you were right."
"If I still have a real name, I am Legnac II, Legnac Ingo."
"And it—" Ingo looked at the Fairy King with his cloudy eyes, "is King Legnac IV."
The Fairy King suddenly fell silent, because Ingo was right about at least one thing: the fairy royal family was called "Legnac," and it was indeed Legnac IV.
The Fairy King thought that, besides himself, only Gamp and Light knew this.
"Ingo, as you said, you are still the Fairy Prince, huh?" Moriarty said with great interest.
In the midst of the tedious process of searching for clues, hearing such a secret seems like a fun and interesting thing.
"Ah, it used to be," Ingo sighed again, "until Salazar Slytherin captured me. So I was excommunicated from the goblins by Legnac I, my father."
"Because in the era of the Four Great Wizards, wizards were persecuted and their living conditions were precarious. A goblin captured by a wizard was a disgrace to the entire goblin community."
Even though thousands of years have passed, this event still left a deep scar on Ingo, and the melancholy is clearly visible in him.
"So? It doesn't know me." Ingo glanced at the Fairy King.
"So here's the question," Moriarty said, not having time to concern himself with Ingo's family matters, his gaze fixed on Ingo, "Why did your ancestor Salazar want to capture you?"
This question had been lingering in Moriarty's mind for a long time, ever since he first entered Slytherin Castle and saw Ingo five years ago.
"I don't know why the old Slytherin arrested me, but I suspect it has something to do with my father, King Legnac I."
Ingo gradually regained his composure and said, "Young master, you should know that in the era when the Four Greats lived, wizards had a very low status and the living conditions were extremely harsh."
Moriarty nodded. That period was definitely the darkest time for wizards, when they faced suppression everywhere.
All forces are suppressing wizards!
That's why the four founders established Hogwarts—to protect wizards and to deter other powers.
"I remember back then, we fairies harmed many wizards, but there was one exception," Ingo said with a look of reminiscence in his eyes, "that was Godric Gryffindor!"
"He and my father were very close friends, which is why my father had the Gryffindor sword made for him."
"Oh, really?" Moriarty frowned slightly. "But it's common knowledge that fairies covet the Gryffindor sword!"
This is so obvious, and they never try to hide it. Even the goblins of Gringotts make no attempt to conceal their greed for the sword.
“Yes, that’s right,” Ingo licked his lips, “but this phenomenon happened after that incident.”
"That matter?"
"My father's personal relationship with Mr. Godric continued until one day, my father suddenly changed his mind and wanted to take back the Gryffindor sword!"
"Of course, Mr. Godric refused to hand over the sword. My father was powerless to retrieve it, so getting the sword back became the wish of all the goblins."
Moriarty stroked his chin, pondering, "So what caused your father's change?"
"I don't know about that," Ingo shook his head. "It's probably because of this that old Slytherin arrested me."
"As you say, my ancestor did this to avenge Mr. Godric?" Moriarty couldn't help but chuckle. These two old men, who loved and hated each other!
But it wasn't just about venting his anger; otherwise, Salazar wouldn't have written in his diary, "Never trust fairies!"
There must be some reason why Legnac I's attitude toward Godric changed.
"It seems we'll have to get the rest of the story from it."
Moriarty turned his attention to the Fairy King.
