The mastermind behind Hogwarts

Chapter 629 The Destroyed Time Converter

"My entire arm is gradually aging..."

"The power of time."

Moriarty's eyes flickered slightly, and a bitter smile appeared on his lips. He should have expected this.

In Godric's Hollow, just as Moriarty was about to kill Pidgeot, the Time-Turner above Pidgeot's head shot out a beam of light that transformed into a hand of light, blocking the combined magic of Moriarty, Dumbledore, and Grindelwald.

At that moment, Moriarty was wondering why the Time Converter could shoot out a beam of light.

Moriarty wasn't unfamiliar with using the Time-Turner; on the contrary, he was quite familiar with it—Lilith had once asked Professor McGonagall for one in order to catch up with Moriarty academically and use it in class.

Later, at Moriarty's suggestion, Lilith stopped using the Time-Turner, during which time Moriarty played with it quite a bit.

It can be said that the time converter only borrows time, but does not have the ability to convert time. Using the time converter to travel through time and space is even more fanciful.

Now Moriarty understood that the Time-Turner could not travel through time and space, but that didn't mean light couldn't!

The light of the immortal organization, wielding the power of time!

even……

Moriarty glanced at Ishcher again; his right arm, starting from the fingertips, was now revealing bare white bone.

This power, with its bizarre casting methods and progressively layered magical effects, already constitutes a complete magical system.

This is, in a sense, the magic of time!

That's a terrifying power.

With a worried expression, Moriarty took out the sacred wooden artifact. A circle of emerald light appeared, and the snakewood wand emerged from Moriarty's palm like a small tree spirit, then crawled toward Ishcher.

The healing magic provided by the wood elemental relic gave Ishcher's complexion a rosy glow.

"It works!" Moriarty's frown suddenly relaxed, and a look of joy appeared on his face.

But the next second, a vortex appeared above Ishcher's right arm, trying to suck the wood elemental artifact into it!

The snakewood wand bounced back towards Moriarty, who quickly retrieved it.

"What's going on now?"

Moriarty watched in horror as the vortex gradually shrank—as the wood elemental relic left, the vortex slowly disappeared.

"Could this power absorb the elemental relic?"

The idea had been brewing in Moriarty's mind for a while, and he couldn't shake the feeling that the relic would go if it were absorbed. He didn't know where it would go, but he just had this feeling.

"Splash!"

Moriarty took the Ice Moon Necklace off his neck and placed it above Ishcher's right arm. Sure enough, a vortex appeared, and a suction force tried to pull the Ice Moon Necklace away!

Moriarty, his face cold, took out the Wind Conch and the Flame Mirror and tested them one by one, with the same result.

"So it turns out that the light was also planning to absorb the elemental relics."

"But why is the target Ishcher?"

"If it were me, wouldn't I be able to absorb all four sacred artifacts?"

"That's right. Ishicher has a dragon horn, a sacred relic of the lightning element. If I lose my mind because I'm too anxious and use a sacred relic of the wood element to heal Ishicher, I might have it absorbed."

"Wait, there might be an even more terrifying reason!"

"He knew from the beginning that I couldn't touch his body; he knew from the beginning that Ishcher would attack him!"

"Is he a prophet? Does he know about our latest attack methods?"

Moriarty looked at Ishcher's pale face, and his heart sank to the bottom.

The Alchemy Doorway was a new magic that I and Ishcher researched in the Alchemy Space. How did Light know about it in advance?

Ah!

The enemy knows me very well, but I know nothing about the enemy!

Moriarty quietly walked out of the bedroom, and after closing the door, he immediately started scratching his head in distress. This time, he was completely at a loss!

The pressure brought by light is like a giant mountain, not to mention the light itself.

Can Moriarty just stand by and watch Ishcher's right arm age little by little?

If left unchecked, it will eventually disappear.

Moriarty didn't even have the courage to consider whether the power of time would spread through his right arm to Ishcher's entire body!

"Tap, tap, tap."

Moriarty walked heavily into the study and slumped into a chair.

He had sat in this gold-trimmed down armchair countless times, but this time his feelings were completely different from before.

"To break the time magic, we must study it at its root."

"But the root is light, yet I don't even know who light is!"

Moriarty felt an unprecedented predicament; there seemed to be an insurmountable chasm between time magic and light. Moriarty could not grasp the connection between the two, and therefore had no way of investigating.

"Light!"

"time!"

"Light, time! Light, time! Light, time!"

Moriarty muttered to himself, his eyes gradually turning crazed. There must be a connection between the two, but he hadn't found it yet.

He activated the alchemical matrix to its maximum, repeatedly recalling his experiences in clashing with the Immortal Organization.

From the discovery of the ice necklace in the Himalayas in late 1997 until the final battle in London.

Moriarty looked at it dozens of times, and before he knew it, it was getting dark.

The Great Hall of Slytherin Castle was now filled with people: Lilith, Diana, Narcissa… William, Quirrell… Professor Polly…

They all had things they wanted to say to Moriarty, but Moriarty wouldn't come out, and they couldn't do anything about it.

Late into the night, Moriarty was still analyzing, and finally he saw that when Gamp was facing the four elements rushing out of the Anywhere Door, he crushed a Time Converter.

"Another time-tamper?"

"Gamp faces a deadly threat and crushes the Time-Turner; Pidou, on his deathbed, also crushes the Time-Turner!"

"Then light, or the power of light, appeared!"

"Is this time converter a summoner of light?!"

Moriarty shook his head repeatedly, but a sharp glint flashed in his eyes. Whether it was true or not, he would find a time converter and crush it to find out.

"Luke!"

Moriarty roared at his house-elf, "Tell Lockhart to bring me all the time-twisters from the Ministry of Magic, now! Immediately!"

Moriarty knew very well that he was racing against time.

Luke disappeared with a "poof," then returned. "Young Master, William has brought the latest intelligence from the Ministry of Magic, including information about the Time-Turner, which I'm about to report to you."

A sense of foreboding washed over Moriarty, and he hurried to the hall, where he saw Lilith and the others.

"Tell me quickly, William, what happened to the time converter?" Moriarty stared straight at William.

William was the captain of three elite Auror squads. After the Battle of London, William followed Lockhart back to the Ministry of Magic, only to discover something unexpected.

"We've discovered that all the time-twisters in the Ministry of Magic have been destroyed!" William's expression was full of confusion; he couldn't understand who had nothing better to do.

Moriarty, however, suddenly understood.

Before the Battle of London, Gump controlled the Ministry of Magic, and only Gump could destroy all the Time-Turners in one fell swoop!

Gamp did this because the Time Converter is a Light Summoner!

To ensure that the secret between the time converters and light would never be known to anyone else, Gamp destroyed all the time converters in advance.

The time converter that Gamp crushed was the last one!

"Damn it, Gamp!"

Moriarty erupted with intense hatred. The time-tamper was gone. What would Ishcher do?

He rushed into the bedroom, and Ishcher's entire right arm had been reduced to bone!

"No…"

Moriarty shook his head, a glint of light flashing in his gray eyes, then clenched his fist so tightly it made a cracking sound.

Disordered footsteps sounded as Lilith and the others rushed in, for they had never seen Moriarty so anxious.

When they saw Ishcher's right arm, they fell silent.

A feeling of sadness spread through Slytherin Castle.
