The mastermind behind Hogwarts
Chapter 457 The Iron Triangle Appears Simultaneously
Harry and Draco exchanged a glance.
I remembered the mysterious wizard from last night.
"What should we do if that person from last night really was the professor?"
Harry asked nervously.
There's nothing more tense and exciting than this.
"What do we do?" Draco retorted. "I don't believe Professor Snape could be that person!"
"But, but!" Harry tried to convince Draco of his judgment. "You saw it yesterday, and Senior Sister Pilliwick saw it too—that man was lame! Professor Snape was lame too! He became lame after yesterday's battle!"
"Oh, please," Draco said, rubbing his forehead, "maybe that guy last night was just born a cripple!"
Harry paused, then thought for a moment and said, "You're right, Draco. There's another possibility, yes, maybe that person was born lame..."
"Yeah, we don't know him, who knows?" Draco shrugged. "Anyway, I don't believe the person who broke into the alchemy classroom was from the Cult of Spies. Why would he do that? There's no reason."
The two were whispering and so engrossed in their discussion that they didn't notice Professor Snape had come up behind them.
The classroom had fallen silent, and Professor Snape stared intently at Harry and Draco.
Seeing them all huddled together, Professor Snape's expression changed, and he tensed up.
Professor Snape frowned, quickly rolled up his sleeves, and simultaneously grabbed Harry and Draco by the back of their necks with his left and right hands.
"A reason? You owe me a reason for talking in my class!"
"Professor Snape!"
The two were startled, like two cats whose fate had been seized, at a loss and with panicked eyes.
"Oh no, I've been caught red-handed. Will he kick me out? And my college points are definitely going to be deducted."
Harry thought sadly.
To everyone's surprise, Professor Snape just kept a cold face and spoke after a while without moving his lips.
"Pansy, you and Poot switch seats."
Professor Snape finished speaking and left, and Harry and Draco landed back in their seats with a "plop".
Pansy walked over happily; she loved sitting at the same table as Draco.
Harry could only sit between Daphne and Nott.
Nott made a few sarcastic remarks, and Harry snorted, "That coward Sabine, too scared to come himself, so he had to send you?"
"You actually brought up Sabini."
Nott looked toward the Gryffindor seats with a smile in his eyes.
"Before you arrived, Sabini tripped Ron, and Ron's stool sent him flying! He hit his head on the ground and his face was disfigured."
Harry quickly turned to look at Ron and saw that Ron had a bruise on his face, a fist-sized dark bruise on his forehead.
Many students in the classroom sized up Ron, then suppressed their laughter.
Unable to bear the strange looks, Ron complained to Snape, "Professor, Sabine from your house cast a spell on me."
Shabini immediately retorted, "It's not me, it's your curse! Don't try to pin it on me. Everyone knows your curse brings you bad luck, and it's working again today."
"Ha ha ha ha!"
Laugh out loud.
Ron gritted his teeth, and Professor Snape roared, "Shut up!"
"You didn't raise your hand, Weasley! Who told you Potions class is where you tattle? Five points deducted from Gryffindor!"
Ron was so angry his eyes were blazing. It took Seamus kicking his chair so hard to calm him down.
"Fine, fine, Sabini, you'll get what's coming to you."
Ron glared at Sabini with hatred.
Pansy, Nott, and the others laughed so hard they were doubled over, while Harry struggled to straighten his glasses.
"Crazy Merlin! I never expected that they would be so busy mocking Ron Weasley that they wouldn't bother mocking me. I have to thank Ron."
This little incident cheered Harry up.
So much so that he temporarily put the lame, mysterious wizard out of his mind.
however.
By the afternoon, news spread throughout the castle that a mysterious wizard had broken into the alchemy classroom.
Dumbledore instructed all the prefects to inform the students to remain vigilant at all times and not to go out alone.
Furthermore, some snakes say that this mysterious wizard is suspected to be the murderer who killed Sirius Black!
The story was told in great detail, so it spread very quickly.
The murderer has entered the castle!
A tense atmosphere instantly filled Hogwarts. The upperclassmen were already used to it. Percy told the new students more than once, "This is nothing. Vampires and Japanese dark wizards have all broken in, but Mr. Moriarty chased them all away."
As the new students listened to the story, a sense of unease mixed with anticipation lingered in their hearts.
Harry was eager to try, and he remembered Professor Snape's limp.
"Could it be that Professor Snape killed Sirius Black and then broke into the alchemy classroom?"
In the library, Harry whispered to Draco.
"What? You're so stupid!" Draco said angrily. "If you keep being stupid, I'm going to consider not being friends with you anymore."
"Oh! Why?" Harry was hurt, but even more confused.
Draco ignored him and walked away alone.
"Hey, Draco!"
Harry watched with disappointment as Draco walked away without looking back.
Suddenly, Ron's voice rang out beside Harry.
"That's just the kind of person he is—proud, selfish. The truly foolish one is him, not you."
Ron watched Draco's departing figure with disdain.
"I'm sorry, I'm very unhappy that you said that about my friend." Harry glared at Ron.
The slight goodwill I felt on the train vanished without a trace.
Ron's eyes widened in astonishment: "You hate me because of Malfoy? We were the first people to know each other! Harry, I know you're different from them! You're different from Snape, from Malfoy, from all the Slytherins!"
Harry was about to leave, but when he heard "Snape," he sat back down.
"See? I told you you're different from them." Ron, seeing Harry return, assumed it was his fault and became smug. "Spending more time with us, Harry, won't do you any harm. If you want to make friends with some real, great wizards, I think I can help you with that."
Ron raised his face slightly and extended his right hand in a pretentious manner. Just as Professor William had said, he indeed found a sense of superiority in Harry.
"Professor William is so kind to me."
Ron thought to himself with a smug satisfaction.
Harry instinctively felt some resistance towards Ron, but he was so eager to be recognized that he told Ron his deductions about Snape.
Ron, who had just been penalized by Snape that morning, was filled with rage. He slammed his fist on the table, shouting, "I knew it! I knew it! Snape is a real scoundrel! I heard from Percy that Snape and Sirius were sworn enemies back in school! It must have been him!"
"Hello!"
A girl at the next table slammed her hand on the table and stood up.
He glared at Ron: "Do you think you're so cool yelling like that? This is a library. If you can't control yourself, go to the Quidditch pitch and don't bother others!"
Hermione stood prettily opposite Ron, arms crossed, glaring at him with displeasure.
Hannah sat next to Hermione, also looking displeased.
Harry suddenly realized that the students around them were giving them disapproving looks, so he tugged at Ron and said, "Let's go."
Ron frowned. "Let's go?"
Leaving would just mean losing face in front of Harry!
Moreover, the person opposite her was a girl, and a freshman at that.
We're both first-year students, so why should I be the one to leave?
Ron grew increasingly angry and said to Hermione, "I don't know what you're studying! Aren't you paying attention in class?"
Hermione simply couldn't believe there could be such a shameless person!
Everyone knows the name "Unlucky Ron" these days. Hermione had initially felt a bit of sympathy for him, but at this moment she suddenly realized that there's always a reason for all the bad luck.
Hannah couldn't stand it anymore, so she packed up her books and notes, grabbed Hermione, and left.
Before leaving, she waved the book in front of Ron's eyes, "Look carefully, Hermione is studying 'Standard Spells Level Three'!"
A low gasp rippled through the crowd.
First-year students only need to learn "Standard Spells for Beginners". The last person to learn advanced spells on their own was Moriarty.
Hermione and Hannah stormed out, and the older students seemed to see Moriarty teaching himself "Standard Spells Level Seven" back in the day.
"Is another genius going to emerge in the first year?"
Listening to the discussion around him, Ron's face turned pale and then red.
At that moment, the librarian, Ms. Pins, walked in with a livid face.
Before leaving, Hannah complained to Mrs. Pince about Ron.
"Get out of here!"
Ron ran out in a panic, and Harry, after apologizing to everyone, followed him out.
"Hey, Harry," Ron called out to Harry, a troubled look on his face. "Could you come with me to Professor William's office? Sigh, he asked me to borrow a book... and as you can see, I definitely won't be able to."
"I'll go with you," Harry said understandingly. "I'll explain to Professor William that it's not your fault. It was because I kept you talking about those things that you were delayed in borrowing the book."
"That's great, thank you, Harry."
Ron smiled happily, thinking to himself, "I've completed Professor William's task brilliantly. What reward will I get?"
Harry shook his head and asked, "What book did Professor William ask you to borrow?"
"It seems to be a spellbook about alchemy?" Ron replied casually. "You know, alchemy classes are offered after the professors graduate."
