The mastermind behind Hogwarts

Chapter 446: Expressing an Attitude

Marcus walked up to William and said in a deep voice, "Sir already knows about the conflict between Harry and Sabine, and he has something to say to them."

William suspected that Moriarty was watching him the whole time, but he put on a warm smile.

"I happen to have something to discuss with Moriarty, let's go together."

Marcus shook his head. "You probably don't understand what I mean. Mr. Moriarty wants those two freshmen."

This is a point that Moriarty and the others emphasized. Sabini is nothing compared to Harry, who cannot fall into William's hands.

Upon hearing this, William's expression turned serious: "Flint, I'm now the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts! Do I need Moriarty's permission to manage two new students?"

Marcus stared intently at William, confirming that William had undergone an unknown change. The William of the past did not value power, and despite being a prefect and the boys' chairman, he would never have said such things.

Regardless of what William said, Marcus's task was to bring Harry and Sabine to Moriarty's side.

He stretched out his two large hands, one on each side, and grabbed Harry and Sabine by the shoulders, pulling them to his side.

"Professor William, the gentleman also said he's waiting for you in the Quidditch lounge."

After saying that, Marcus walked straight to the Quidditch pitch.

William frowned. The Quidditch season hadn't even started yet. What was Moriarty up to?

Filled with doubt and remaining vigilant, William followed, this time to test Moriarty.

Five minutes later, Marcus and William walked into the Slytherin players' Quidditch lounge one after the other.

William was astonished to find that besides Moriarty, there were also Lilith, Jericho, and Soldaya inside.

With Marcus added to his retinue, Moriarty's core clique was now complete.

They sat in an orderly fashion on the chairs in the lounge.

William set his sights on Soldaya. Lilith and Jericho had no doubt that, whether they tried to win him over or tempt him, they would never betray Moriarty.

Soldaya came from the Selwyn family, and the voice in William's mind remembered that the Selwyn family had once been extremely loyal to him.

At this point, Moriarty ignored William, said a few words to comfort Harry and Sabine, and then left Harry behind.

Before leaving, Sabine gave Harry a jealous look, and Harry felt extremely pleased, filled with a sense of pride at being trusted.

"Ah~ Senior William..." Moriarty seemed to have just noticed William's arrival, and warmly opened his arms as if to hug him, but did not actually hug him.

"Senior William, I really didn't expect you to choose to return to Hogwarts. To be a professor? Tsk, how does it feel to see your former juniors become your students?"

Moriarty gave William the same impression of being magnanimous and relaxed as always, and William felt that Moriarty did not doubt him.

"I must say, it felt great, especially seeing the first-years pointing their wands at each other. It instantly brought back memories of your conflict with Flint back then."

William smiled and said.

Harry couldn't help but speak up: "Professor, it was Sabine who cast the spell on me first! I didn't even cast a single spell."

But Harry was immediately silenced by Marcus: "Shut up, Harry! This is none of your business!"

"Ha!" Jericho stood up and stared at Harry. "I remember you. You couldn't even cast a single spell during the Prefect Selection, and you were just defeated by two minor spells from Sabine. When did Slytherin's first year become so weak?"

Harry lowered his head in shame, expecting Jericho to continue criticizing him, but Jericho suddenly turned his head and looked at William.

"Professor William, you must teach us first-year students well in class. He wouldn't want us Slytherin's first-year students to be at the bottom of the magical rankings, would he?"

William nodded and replied, "Of course."

Harry turned his gaze to William, expecting to be greeted by another Snape-like professor, but a sudden sharp pain shot through the scar on his forehead.

"Ouch!" Harry covered his forehead, for some reason the burning pain from the scar was exactly the same as the first day of school.

Moriarty glanced at Harry thoughtfully; he knew exactly what was going on, and the reason lay with William.

Moriarty noticed it the moment William entered: William had two souls!

One was William himself, and the other, of course, was the remnant soul of Voldemort.

I just don't know where Voldemort is possessing William.

"Hey? Potter, why were you staring at William's chest just now?" Lilith noticed this.

Moriarty blinked. Could it be that Voldemort was possessing William's chest?

Harry shook his head, sweating profusely. Lilith didn't press further, but instead said to William, "Senior William, can you guess why Moriarty invited you here?"

William looked around and smiled: "How could I forget Moriarty's first Quidditch match? Right here, this is where Moriarty's legend began! And Jericho, of course."

"Fine, I only deserve to be replenished," Jericho shrugged and muttered.

"What the senior said is right, but that's only one reason."

Moriarty picked up the conversation, his tone becoming serious.

"There are only a few of us here. If others hear what I'm about to say, it will cause a riot. Besides, if Leon comes, my core group will be complete."

Moriarty had been observing William's expression, and when he heard Leon's name, William was moved.

"William, I've always considered you one of my own."

Harry heard Moriarty address a professor by his first name, gaining a new understanding of the power of the Head of House, and trembled slightly with excitement at being there himself.

Moriarty looked at William and continued, "You've seen my changes to Slytherin all along. For three years, I've turned Slytherin's mindset around—from that noseless Voldemort."

Jericho and Soldaya burst into laughter, while a voice roared in William's mind.

"But you saw what happened today. Voldemort, who had no nose, has been gone for 11 years, and his ideas and theories are still poisoning our first-year students."

"Although kids like Pansy are a minority now, blaming an 11-year-old doesn't address the root cause. The best way to eradicate Voldemort's poisonous ideas is to smash Voldemort in front of everyone!"

William could no longer hold back. He said, "Moriarty, after graduating, I traveled the world for two years, and I became increasingly aware of the stupidity of Muggles. Perhaps... perhaps Muggle-born wizards are a hidden danger?"

"Muggles are stupid?" Moriarty retorted. "Or rather, some Muggles and wizards are quite stupid."

"Jellicoe, Soldaya, do you think Muggles are stupid? How long would it take if Muggles attacked us?"

"Huh? If Muggles and wizards go to war, it'll only take a second, right?" Jericho said casually. His trip to the Soviet Union had taught him that Muggles not only had guns and cannons, but also nuclear weapons.

Under the atomic bomb, everything is destroyed.

Soldaya remembered and nodded.

William was somewhat angry: "Blanche! Selwyn! You're purebloods too! Why are you siding with Muggles?"

After saying that, he looked at Moriarty and said bluntly, "During my travels, I also saw that Muggles have guns and cannons, but we also have spells!"

"The situation Jericho described could be avoided with a Muggle Exorcism Charm! Foolish Muggles can't even touch a wizard's robes!"

Moriarty looked at Voldemort with newfound respect. The fact that Voldemort, in his remnant soul state, could conceive of a Muggle banishment charm must have been influenced by William's own intelligence.

“You’re right,” Moriarty retorted. “In my opinion, the biggest difference between wizards and Muggles is that wizards can develop spells—specific, targeted spells.”

To give a simple example, the British Prime Minister knows about the existence of the magical world, and leaders of other countries also know about its existence.

Is what we perceive as concealment merely an illusion created by Muggles?

"Impossible!" William exclaimed. "The Prime Minister is being watched by Aurors!"

"Aurors are human too, and humans can be bribed," Moriarty said impatiently. "As far as I know, the whole of Japan is in chaos. Some Muggles already know about the existence of wizards, but they don't believe it. It's only a matter of time before all the Japanese know."

"Wait a minute, I've got an idea!" Lilith said solemnly, "Is it possible that wizards are actually locked away in the magical world by Muggles? In other words, the fact that wizards cannot be born is a consensus reached by the Muggle leaders of various countries."

"If you have any ideas, you can go and verify them," Moriarty clapped his hands, "but I admit, that's why I said the Secret Service Act protects us."

William remained silent.

Seeing that he didn't speak, Moriarty continued, "Now let's talk about Voldemort. To be honest, I have no aversion to him or the Death Eaters as a whole."

"I've told them this before, and I'm telling William again today."

Moriarty stared intently at William, as if he could see into William's soul and converse with another soul.

"In my opinion, Voldemort's biggest mistake was distorting Salazar Slytherin's ideals. He single-handedly ruined Slytherin's reputation. How could the head of Slytherin tolerate Voldemort?"

"If Voldemort were standing in front of me right now, I would clean house."

Moriarty calmly expressed his attitude to William.

The remnant of Voldemort within William was finally enraged; he had previously avoided discussing Voldemort and the Slytherin family with Moriarty because he felt guilty.

Because Voldemort knew that his proud identity as a descendant of Slytherin was no longer a valuable asset after Moriarty's emergence.

To Voldemort's dismay, he found that he couldn't avoid this.

The only possibility for Voldemort and Moriarty to coexist peacefully is for Voldemort to admit that he is a member of the Slytherin family and to bow down to the head of the family.

But Voldemort wouldn't. He suppressed his anger and walked out of the Quidditch common room to check Moriarty's schedule.

This afternoon, fourth-grade Slytherin and Gryffindor students had a lesson on protecting magical creatures.

A fierce glint appeared in William's eyes.
