Chapter 308 The Shadow of the Vampires
Chapter 308 The Shadow of the Vampires
All eyes immediately focused on Soldaya's head and body.
Soldaya's eyes lit up; he had suffered a loss on the train and was looking for a way to get revenge!
Duveen glanced at Soldaya with disdain. He had already defeated Soldaya on the train. If it weren't for challenging Moriarty, Duveen would never have chosen to make a move.
"Get your wands out and let's get started. I'm getting sleepy, let's finish this quickly." Duveen yawned, and Soldaya yawned in response.
Soldaya sensed a deep contempt from Duveen, and a murderous glint flashed in his eyes.
With a flick of his wrist, the wand landed silently in his hand, and Soldaya suddenly aimed it at Duveen.
"Extremely painful!"
"Don't bring out spells that are no longer useful." Duwene lazily flicked his black cloak, knocking the Crucifixion away.
In the school board's private box, Sordaya attacked Duveen with the Cruciatus Curse, but it was blocked by a black cloak made of some unknown material.
Soldaya's lips curled into a cold smile. Seizing the moment when the black cloak covered Duveen's eyes, he raised his arm and shot out a dark blue spell.
"The soul leaves the body!"
The small snakes watching let out a low growl—it was a Soul-Stealing Curse!
A hint of surprise appeared on Professor Snape's face, as if he wondered why Sordaya possessed such profound dark magic.
Then he frowned, gripped his wand tightly under his robes, and prepared to save either Duveen or Soldaya at any moment.
Only Moriarty remained unfazed. From the first moment he met Soldaya, he knew that Soldaya possessed extremely high talent and was prone to emotional fluctuations.
He meets all the requirements for unskilled use of dark magic.
This soul-stealing curse is both swift and ruthless.
Because the magic power is not fully utilized, the spells may not be as powerful as those of a seasoned dark wizard, but they look quite impressive.
Sordaya has now mastered the Cruciatus Curse and the Imperishable Curse, and is only missing the Killing Curse to complete the set of the three Unforgivable Curses.
Duwene flung off his cloak, the spell already flying to his eyes. He didn't have time to use his wand, so he swung his arm and punched the spell.
"Snap."
A slight cracking sound came, the spell disappeared, and Duveen stood unharmed opposite Soldaya, his eyes burning brightly.
Soldaya's eyes were filled with disbelief; he had never seen anyone break a spell with their bare hands!
"The vampires' physical structure is somewhat different from ours," Moriarty's voice came calmly, explaining the incredible scene that had just occurred and also rescuing Soldaya from the predicament: "Come back, Soldaya."
"Yes, sir." Sordaya retreated with a reluctant expression. The Imperius Curse had drained too much of his magic power, and if the fight continued, he would surely be the loser.
Duveen ignored Soldaya's departure. He blinked, a glint in his eyes, and said to Moriarty, "Now it's your turn."
"If you want to challenge me, you'll have to get past me first."
Marcus said in a deep voice, and walked into the circle with the force of a war elephant.
Duveen sized up Marcus a few times, tilted his head, and said, "Are you sure you don't have troll blood?"
Marcus smirked coldly. "Torn to pieces!"
Duwein didn't even glance at the spell flying towards him, and instead raised his hand to unleash the same splitting spell.
The black and red cursed light pierced through Marcus's Split Curse, its momentum undiminished, and continued flying towards Marcus.
"Torn apart! Torn apart! Torn apart..."
Marcus stared intently, firing the Split Spell like a machine gun firing bullets.
The little snakes were surprised to find that the number of spells had increased and their power was gradually increasing; the later spells made crackling and popping sounds as they flew.
Duveen's spell had been broken, and his eyes widened slightly. "You don't only know the Split Spell, do you?!"
Marcus remained expressionless as he continued casting spells, seemingly unconcerned about the magic power.
Lilith suddenly said to Moriarty, "I remember when we were fighting the Quinlan vampires, Marcus used a splitting curse to kill a vampire, and later everyone said that Marcus split that vampire's head into pieces."
Meeting Lilith's thoughtful gaze, Moriarty smiled and nodded.
"It was on that occasion that Marcus developed a different understanding of the Split Charm. He didn't have many spells, but the Split Charm was one of his best."
As the two were talking, the situation in the circle changed, and Marcus slowly walked towards Duveen.
Duwein was forced back by the flying splitting spells!
A flash of anger crossed his arrogant eyes, his pupils turned golden, and a dark shadow emerged from behind him. Marcus instantly felt as if he had fallen into an ice age.
"What exactly is that thing?"
Jericho noticed Marcus's odd behavior and squinted at the dark figure behind Duveen.
Moriarty didn't understand either; he was certain that the chill emanating from the shadowy figure wasn't from water elemental magic or dark elemental magic.
He tried to initiate an alchemical matrix analysis, but the results were vague.
Seeing that Marcus was struggling to resist, Moriarty told him to come down.
Marcus retreated tremblingly, and Duwene also withdrew his shadow, his eyes turning black again.
"It seems the secret lies in the eyes." Jericho pondered, then walked towards Duwayne as if he had made a decision.
"You're that stinky wizard who wouldn't give me his seat." Duveen recognized Jericho and glared at him with disdain and contempt. "What are you doing here? Are you Moriarty?"
Jericho wasn't annoyed. He chuckled and said, "You're not qualified to challenge Moriarty unless you defeat me. You can ask them if you don't believe me."
Jericho gestured with his chin toward the small snakes around him, as if it were perfectly natural.
Lilith said softly, "What is he doing? Jericho's demonstrated strength is insufficient to defeat Duveen Vandro."
Moriarty looked at Jericho. "He has his own ideas, but perhaps a little setback is a good thing for him."
Jericho was too comfortable staying with Moriarty.
However, Duveen might be more relaxed. He lazily yawned, "Well, whatever. I just want to challenge Moriarty as soon as possible and defeat him!"
"Then, I won't stand on ceremony." Jericho casually raised his wand and drew a circle. "Immediately imprison."
The rope silently descended towards Duweyne, whose ears twitched. The little snakes found it rather cute, but the next second—
"Cang!"
Duwene stretched out his arm, his right hand fully exposed to everyone, its five sharp red fingernails gleaming coldly.
With a "whoosh," Duwein flicked his wrist, cutting the rope into several pieces, which scattered and fell to the ground.
Jericho had anticipated the outcome and waved his wand, casting a disarming spell. "Expelliarmus!"
A red light shot out, and Duwein, repeating the same tactic, shouted, "Disarm you!"
The two spells collided low in the air, emitting a dazzling red light. Jericho, without blinking, aimed at Duveen's feet: "Blazing Flames."
A line of fire shot across the ground, engulfing Duwein in flames. Duwein remained calm and wrapped himself in a black cloak.
The flames shot up high, but they couldn't reach Duweyne.
"My turn." Duwayne smiled slightly. "Blazing flames!"
A ball of dark red flame lunged at Jericho!
The little snakes discovered that Duveen's flames were hotter, but Jericho's fire spell had a wider range, so it was hard to say who was stronger.
Jericho's solution was simple: he stretched out his right arm, flicked his wand lightly, and summoned a huge stream of water to extinguish the flames.
"Freeze Spell!" Jericho maximized the effect of the water flow, chanting the spell he had learned in Charms class last semester. Strands of ice spread towards Duveen along the water flow.
"I have that too, the Freeze Charm!"
But this time, the freezing spell didn't work.
"Huh? Why?" Du Weien blinked, and for a moment the little snakes present felt embarrassed but found it cute.
Time didn't allow Duveen to think it through. He twirled his wand and remembered a particular wand: "Crush!"
"Slap! Slap! Slap!"
Several shards of ice shattered into fragments. Jericho, quick-witted, transformed the ice shards into countless small knives, which he then unleashed upon Duveen.
"it's useless."
Duwene snorted, his eyes flashing with golden light, and the shadow behind him reappeared, causing the knives to fall to the ground!
"It's here, a strange shadowy figure." Jericho's eyes narrowed slightly. He had come in to fight Duwayne in order to uncover the secrets of the shadowy figure.
Jericho aimed directly at Duveen and unleashed a massive amount of magic, imprisoning the air in front of him.
Having lost the support of the air in front of him, the air behind Duwein surged out like a landslide, colliding head-on with the dark shadow behind him!
Everyone clearly saw the dark figure flicker.
For a moment, Moriarty seemed to be seeing things.
A face appeared in the shadows, without eyes, nose, or mouth, only two eyebrows that suddenly furrowed.
