The mastermind behind Hogwarts

Chapter 115 How is Rubeus Hagrid?

Chapter 115 How is Rubeus Hagrid?

As Dumbledore watched the teacher and student arguing, the toffee in his mouth suddenly became very sticky.

Moriarty was his partner, and Diana was a powerful third party. Dumbledore, caught in the middle, had to go to great lengths to persuade them to back down.

"Please have some black tea, you two."

After Diana sat down again, Dumbledore had already brewed three pots of black tea, one for each of them.

Diana stared down at the silver teapot and small silver cup in front of her, her eyes full of suspicion. "Why would someone drink a whole pot of tea by themselves?"

Just as she was about to say something, she saw Dumbledore adding sugar to his jar, spoonful after spoonful.

Diana twitched her lips and quickly turned her head to the side. Moriarty watched this scene with amusement. Elves always had a light palate; they didn't like food that was too spicy or too sweet. Diana was truly overwhelmed by the sweetness.

Dumbledore, seemingly oblivious, took a small sip, a satisfied expression on his face, his brow relaxing. "I recommend adding some brown sugar; it's different from toffee, it won't stick to your teeth. Or what would you like to add, milk? Coffee? Please feel free to add whatever you prefer."

Decades ago, I had a friend who liked to add butterbeer to his black tea. That's bad for your stomach, so don't do it like him.

Diana shook her head helplessly. What does "as if she hadn't noticed" mean? It means that Dumbledore simply hadn't noticed that she didn't like desserts.

Moriarty picked up the silver teapot in front of him and poured himself a cup of black tea. He didn't add anything and took a small sip to soothe his throat. English black tea was really hard to drink.

Dumbledore, on the other hand, always seemed to have a sunny disposition, which was commendable.

"I also have a friend who likes to blend meat into a broth, mix it with fruit juice, and make a unique drink. Everyone reveres it and calls it magical food," Moriarty told Dumbledore. "And another friend of mine always likes to swallow it whole."

"Ugh..." Diana couldn't take it anymore and covered her mouth, dry heaving.

The thought of someone liking to drink sticky, greasy meat broth made her feel terrible, as if she were soaking in meat broth.

But being an elven priestess, she quickly regained her composure, merely glaring at Moriarty with a hint of anger in her eyes, as if to say, "You did this on purpose!"

Moriarty said calmly, "I think you should calm down. No matter what the vampires are up to, you can't face them in a negative state."

So? The most important thing is to resolve the strange behavior of the young wizard and the elves.

"I agree with Moriarty's idea and support his actions," Dumbledore stated. "Furthermore, I will send someone with the sincerity of the Slytherin family and Hogwarts to find the Marquess of Judah."

After saying that, he looked at Diana, and Moriarty did the same. Diana looked at each of them for three seconds. "Alright, I choose to believe you. I hope you won't let me down."

If you can't handle this, I'll go home immediately—I know the Dark Lord has cursed the Defense Against the Dark Arts professorship, and every professor who has ever taught that course will suffer misfortune, but I'm not afraid.

I could easily leave and rally elves, succubi, fairies, werewolves, dragons, and even your house-elves to declare war on vampires!

"The wizarding world will be in chaos then, don't blame me for not warning you."

Diana stood up again; this time she was really leaving, but not departing, but returning to her office.

Before leaving, she said to Moriarty as if she had suddenly remembered something, "Moriarty, a second-year student, you have already missed two classes. I am very worried about your final exam, because if you miss any more classes without a reason, I think you will get a bad grade."

After Diana finished speaking, she walked towards the door. Just as she was about to step out, Moriarty let out a deep dragon roar. Diana immediately pulled back her right leg, which she had just stepped out, and turned her head in surprise.

"You said you weren't absent without reason, but you spoke in Dragon Language!" Diana looked at Moriarty, her eyes sparkling, her expression excited. "You can speak Dragon Language? That's incredible!"

"Yes," Dumbledore said, equally surprised. "We never knew you could speak dragons."

"These aren't the key points. The key point is that you understood." Moriarty automatically ignored Diana's beautiful face, his voice low and his eyes probing.

It's not surprising that Dumbledore speaks dragon language, after all, he's the one who discovered the uses of dragon blood.

It's quite strange that Diana, as an elf, could understand dragon language.

In fact, Moriarty deliberately spoke those words in the Dragon Language, not to explain why he skipped class.

Diana's ability to summon dragons immediately reminded Moriarty, and the Headless Horseman also said that dragons and elves are the most suitable beings in the world to study mysticism.

Clearly, there is some connection between elves and fire dragons.

Diana's current reaction proves this point.

However, she quickly calmed down and left without saying a word.

Moriarty watched her retreating figure with a knowing smile, then bid farewell to Dumbledore; he too was leaving.

"No, no, Moriarty, you can't leave yet. We haven't decided on a suitable candidate." Dumbledore stretched out his right hand and pressed down, gesturing for Moriarty to sit down.

"You decide who to choose," Moriarty said impatiently. "The most powerful wizard in the world can't even send out a few trustworthy people? I'm not in the mood for jokes right now."

Moriarty was about to go to the library to look up information about dragons and elves.

Dumbledore shook his head and smiled, poured himself a cup of black tea, added a watermelon-flavored toffee, and slowly drank it.

"Listen to my opinion."

Who should be sent to visit the Jewish marquis?

To become a representative of Slytherin and Hogwarts, one must first be powerful.

Moriarty nodded impatiently.

"Vampires are long-lived beings. A marquess should have lived for thousands of years, so he also needs to be learned, otherwise they would have nothing to talk about." Dumbledore said matter-of-factly.

"Most importantly, he also needs to have extraordinary courage and resourcefulness!"

Vampires generally harbor ill intentions towards wizards, and we cannot expect to achieve peaceful coexistence with them after just one visit. In such situations, a person's courage and resourcefulness will play a crucial role.

"Oh, my dear Professor Dumbledore!" Moriarty tapped the table lightly, his impatience deepening, his eyes filled with sarcasm and helplessness. "Your analysis is so excellent, so why don't you just say that person's name?"

"Great! I thought you wouldn't agree!" Dumbledore said happily. "Then I'll say it: Rupert Hagrid, what do you say?"

"Who?" Moriarty thought he had misheard.

"Rupert Hagrid!"

"Rupert? Hagrid? Huff..." Moriarty slumped back in his chair, which creaked under the weight of the weight. Combined with Dumbledore's unchanging smile, Moriarty found it both jarring and irritating.

"Excuse me, how does Rupert Hagrid relate to what you mentioned above?"

Moriarty really wanted to smash Dumbledore's tea to pieces. Hagrid, you're his own son, aren't you!

In the original story, it was Hagrid who visited the giants, and now that they're visiting the vampires, is it also Hagrid?

What will happen between a half-giant and a vampire?

Moriarty planned to summon a vampire for Hagrid to experience, to see if Dumbledore's little Hagrid could coexist peacefully with a vampire.

"Excuse me, is Hagrid, whom you mentioned, powerful? Is he learned?"

Courage beyond human comprehension? Oh, that's true—but it's the kind of Gryffindor courage you're talking about! And resourcefulness? Hagrid's resourcefulness, isn't it?

Rupert Hagrid perfectly avoided the adjectives you mentioned!

Dumbledore wasn't angry at all; he kept the teacup to his lips, and the black tea mixed with brown sugar inside turned black.

"Yes, yes, that's certainly true. It seems I was overthinking things." Dumbledore put down his teacup. "Then what about Remus John Lupin?"

He is powerful, experienced in dealing with magical creatures, rational, knowledgeable, and will not disgrace the Slytherin family. Moreover, he graduated from Hogwarts and was an outstanding student there.

Moriarty genuinely doubted whether Dumbledore had made a proper selection.

"Don't you know that werewolves are the mortal enemies of vampires? You sent Lupin to visit a vampire marquis?"

"Do you have a grudge against Lu Ping for stealing your wife?"

Dumbledore laughed and shook his head. "Alright, alright, you're right! So who should we send? I really don't know."

The White Wizard stood up and walked over to Fawkes. "Moriarty, you know I have an Order of the Phoenix, right? You must know, after all, you even know that Lupin is a werewolf."

"Then the people I can mobilize are members of the Order of the Phoenix."

Professor McGonagall is the most suitable candidate, but the school needs her, and I cannot let her go, especially at this time.

Professor Snape was not good at communicating, Professor Flitwick had elven blood, and the other professors were not suitable either.

You've met Arthur Weasley and Kingsley Shackleton at the Pureblood Gathering; they're excellent candidates, but they're tied up with government affairs at the Ministry of Magic and can't get away either.

"And the others? They have no experience in diplomatic missions either. I can't very well send Mundungus, can I? Perhaps I can count on him to steal a coffin!"

Good heavens, even that thief Mundungus has come out!

Moriarty sized up Dumbledore. "So you've been saying you have no one to send, and you're waiting for me to send someone so you can find out my secrets, huh?"

So that's what they were waiting for!
