Wang Yi glanced at Chen Dusheng and whispered a few words in his ear. Chen Dusheng nodded and went to the back room to write a letter.

Just after he finished giving the instructions, Zheng Xingtou arrived in a hurry with Boss Shen.

"Boss Wang, I heard the magistrate just invited you over. How did it go?"

The one who asked the question was Boss Shen. The anxiety in his eyes seemed genuine, and Wang Yiyi felt a warmth in her heart.

He replied with a smile, "What could be wrong? It's just that Mr. Wu is quite old and still likes to complain."

Hearing Wang Yiyi say that everything was alright, Zheng Xingtou and Boss Shen both visibly breathed a sigh of relief.

Zheng Xingtou: "After Boss Wang left yesterday, I went to see a few more people. Currently, half of the Chamber of Commerce is on our side. I have decided to hold a Chamber of Commerce meeting in three days to re-elect the head of the Chamber."

Wang Yi cupped his hands in a respectful gesture: "I will definitely give Zheng Xingtou my full support when the time comes."

Zheng Xingtou said modestly, "I don't deserve such praise. If it weren't for Boss Wang, we wouldn't have been able to make this decision."

After exchanging pleasantries for a while, the two took their leave.

After Wu Xingtou's outburst, Wang Yiyi didn't dare to leave easily and waited until the shop closed before leaving.

When she got home, she was surprised to find Xie Yu there as well.

She was somewhat surprised: "What are you doing in my house?"

Wang Dashan, who was standing to the side, explained, "You silly child, what are you talking about? General Xie heard that our house is finished, so he came here today to give us a congratulatory gift."

Da Tou and Er Tou didn't come back; the house was full of women, and Wang Dashan was with Xie Yu.

Wang Yi could only say thank you.

"Husband, hurry up and fetch some water!" Li suddenly shouted.

Wang Dashan slapped his forehead, realizing that he had forgotten about fetching water because Xie Yu had arrived.

He glanced at Xie Yu, then at Wang Yiyi, and then at the two of them sitting outside the shack. It wasn't inappropriate.

He then stood up with relief: "Thank you, General Xie. I'll be right back."

For a moment, only Xie Yu and Wang Yiyi remained.

Wang Yiyi was still angry because Xie Yu had refused to help her in her time of need, so she didn't initiate a conversation.

After a moment of silence, Xie Yu spoke up first: "Luo Yan will begin his return journey in the next couple of days, and if all goes well, he will bring back everything you requested in about a month."

This happened earlier than Wang Yiyi had expected. Her inventory was running low, and she was planning to go to the Northwest herself if there was no further news.

She finally managed a smile: "Luo Yan is quite reliable when it comes to getting things done."

Xie Yu opened his mouth, wanting to say that it was he who kept urging Luo Yan, which made Luo Yan speed up. Otherwise, given Luo Yan's personality, it would have dragged on for another month. He was the reliable one.

But in the end he said nothing.

Wang Yiyi seemed to have thought of something and nudged Xie Yu with her shoulder: "Your family must have quite a bit of power in the capital, right?"

Xie Yu was taken aback. Did Wang Yiyi find out something?

He forced himself to remain calm: "The Xie family has served in the military for generations. My maternal grandfather is now the Grand General of the State, personally appointed by His Majesty. He still has some influence in the capital."

Wang Yiyi gave Xie Yu a deep look. If it weren't for what happened before, she would have believed him, but she didn't expose him. She then asked, "How does the Xie family compare to the Prime Minister?"

Xie Yu said with a serious expression: "The Prime Minister is the head of all civil officials in the land; the two cannot be compared."

Wang Yiyi understood. The Xie family wasn't as powerful as the prime minister, which explained why the county magistrate suddenly felt less apprehensive.

She said meaningfully, "No wonder the magistrate isn't afraid of you anymore."

Xie Yu suddenly chuckled: "Did the magistrate bully you?"

This person was indirectly complaining to him.

Thinking of this, he felt much better: "Although the governor is the prime minister's man, there is no need to be overly afraid. You can do whatever you want. For your brother's sake, no one can do anything to you."

Hearing this, Wang Yiyi felt relieved; Xie Yu was still willing to protect her.

The two chatted for a while longer, as if they had returned to the days when they went to the Northwest.

Xie Yu didn't linger. When Wang Dashan returned after fetching water, Xie Yu was already gone.

"Where's General Xie? Didn't he say he was staying for dinner?" He put down the water bucket and eagerly searched around the shack.

"He had something to do in the army, so he left first," Wang Yiyi casually made up an excuse.

Wang Dashan had no doubt that Da Tou and Er Tou had been busy ever since they went to the military camp, as there were no trivial matters in the army.

Mrs. Li also grumbled a bit: "So hasty, without even giving a heads-up."

Wang Yiyi wondered to herself if she could leave after saying hello, but she only dared to think this to herself.

Li grumbled as she served the dishes. Since the family had a stable income, she stopped being stingy and ate fine grains at every meal, with eggs and meat on the table. Today's meal was especially lavish.

Wang Yi took a big bite of his meal.

Li lovingly placed a piece of meat on her plate, saying, "Eat slowly, you're starving."

"Mom, I haven't eaten all day," Wang Yiyi replied earnestly.

She was so busy all day that she forgot to eat.

Li paused for a moment, then immediately put a few more pieces of meat on her plate: "I'll go to town with you tomorrow. I need to buy the vegetables in advance. We can take advantage of your older brother's return to visit the Zhao family."

Wang Yi nodded vaguely. Although Madam Li didn't hold a grand banquet, quite a few people still gave gifts, so a few tables still needed to be set up.

The family discussed some specific items to buy, and didn't rest until very late.

The next day, Li got up very early and baked a lot of fried dough sticks. By the time Wang Yi got up, she had already finished preparing them all.

Wang Yi looked at the dozen or so fried dough sticks with a bit of helplessness, but let Li Shi do as she pleased.

The mother and her three daughters soon arrived in the city.

Instead of immediately going to buy things, Ms. Li went to Wang Yiyi's shop first.

She's been so busy at home lately that she couldn't even attend Wang Yiyi's store opening.

She rubbed her hands together, straightened her clothes, and then stepped inside. She walked around the store with a proud look on her face, but then her eyes welled up with tears. Her daughter must be working very hard to support such a large family business all by herself, no wonder she didn't have time to eat.

Soon, many customers came to the shop. Li Shi couldn't help and was afraid of disturbing Wang Yiyi, so she told Er Ya and took Daya with her to buy things.

Daya and Erya often help out at the shop. Erya usually works in the front, while Daya usually learns the accounts from the back. This time, only Daya is free to leave.

Fortunately, no one caused trouble today. After Li finished shopping, Wang Yiyi led the group home.

On the day they moved in, Da Tou and Er Tou came over with Xie Yu early in the morning.

The three of them couldn't be of much help, so Li sent Da Tou to take some gifts to the Zhao family.

Big Head blushed, but thinking of Zhao Hehua, he still hurried over.

The Zhao family was clearly caught off guard by Da Tou's sudden visit: "What brings you here?"

Fortunately, after her initial surprise, Zhao's mother immediately put on a warm smile: "Come in quickly, Lotus has gone up the mountain and will be back soon."
