I'm sorry, but your fiancé loves me.
Chapter 47 Yun Muqian, will your life remain unchanged without me?
Qin Qihan finally admitted that she had been tricked.
He stopped begging for forgiveness in a polite manner and directly had someone follow her, eventually finding her new address.
Actually, admitting that she didn't love him was much more painful than he had imagined. He thought he could bear it, that once he realized she didn't love him, he could calm down and cleanly deal with it like he would with any other mess.
But he underestimated what she had left on him.
It was something indescribable, like an invisible thread that stretched from his heart to hers, and when she walked away, that thread would tug painfully at his heart.
He wanted to let her go, but then he realized, quite pathetically, that he couldn't. Without her, he couldn't live a normal life at all.
He was sitting in his office, looking at the tracking record, which stated that Yun Muqian had moved into a high-rise apartment building near the Third Ring Road, lived alone, and occasionally went out, only to nearby supermarkets and shopping malls. Her life was as regular as that of an ordinary, clean, single woman.
Without him, she's actually doing better and better.
Qin Qihan stood up, grabbed his coat, and walked out of the office. His assistant, seeing him at the door, paused, then said, "Mr. Qin, there's a meeting at 3 PM—"
"Push it." Qin Qihan walked into the elevator without turning her head.
He drove to the apartment building and waited in his car for two hours.
At 9:07, he saw Yun Muqian walk in from the door at the other end of the corridor. She was wearing a beige knitted cardigan, her hair was loosely draped over her shoulders, and she was carrying a Sam's Club shopping bag with half a loaf of toast and a carton of milk sticking out of the bag.
Qin Qihan stared at her for a few seconds, then opened the car door and got out.
He walked quickly, his footsteps echoing faintly in the empty underground parking garage.
Yun Muqian took the elevator to her doorstep, completely unaware that someone was following her.
She had her back to him, looking down at her phone. A message lit up on the screen: "Are you free tomorrow night?" from Shen Xubai. Her thumb hovered over the chat box, about to type, when she suddenly felt something approaching from behind.
Before she could turn around, her wrist was suddenly grabbed.
The phone slipped from her hand and fell to the ground with a thud. Her body was pulled by a tremendous force, and her back slammed against the cold side wall of the elevator door with a dull thud, leaving her shoulder blades numb from the impact.
She gasped, about to cry out, when a hand covered her mouth. That hand was warm to her ears, and a deep voice pressed down on her from above, hoarse, carrying a suppressed anger she hadn't heard in a long time:
"Where did you go? Who did you go on a date with?"
Yun Muqian's pupils contracted sharply. After her eyes adjusted to the dim light, she could see the face in front of her clearly—Qin Qihan.
"Qin Qihan," she struggled, her wrist aching from his grip, her voice muffled as it escaped through his fingers, "how did you know I lived here—"
He did not answer her.
His other hand gripped her waist, and her back slid down the cold wall. Before she could even cry out in pain as her knees hit the hard floor tiles, he had already pinned her to the floor.
Her breathing became erratic, and she pushed against his chest with both hands, "What are you doing—"
Qin Qihan's hand had already grabbed the collar of her cardigan. He didn't know any manners when he did it, as if he was taking apart something he hated. His fingertips hooked the button and pulled it outwards. A white button fell to the ground and rolled twice.
"Let me check," he forced out through clenched teeth, head bowed. "What did you just do?"
"I went to the supermarket," she said, gesturing with her chin towards the door. "Isn't that Sam's bag?"
Qin Qihan paused. He turned his head and looked in the direction she indicated. There was indeed a white Sam's Club shopping bag lying on the ground near the elevator, its opening open, with an orange rolled down beside it.
He turned back to look at her.
Yun Muqian lay on her back on the floor, her hair scattered on the gray-white tiles, her breathing still ragged: "Are you satisfied now? I didn't go on a date with anyone else. You can get up now."
Qin Qihan looked at her for several seconds, then released the hand that was pulling at her collar, but didn't completely let her go, and kissed her with his burning lips.
This kiss was completely different from the way he had kissed her before. Before, he kissed her with patience and gentleness, but now this kiss felt like he wanted to devour her. He bit her lower lip, rough to the point of being savage, his breath pressing heavily and hot against her face.
Yun Muqian was breathless from his kisses, making soft, muffled sounds in her throat. She raised her hand to punch his shoulder, but his hand held the back of her head, preventing her from escaping.
The air was quiet, with only the sound of two people breathing and the occasional muffled thud of a car passing by in the distance.
Then she felt it.
Qin Qihan's kiss suddenly faltered. His lips were still pressed against hers, but his breathing suddenly became heavy, with an abnormal, broken tremor.
She felt something warm drip onto her cheek, sliding down her face and landing on the edge of her open collar, leaving a small, damp, cool patch.
He cried.
Yun Muqian's body stiffened. Her hand stopped on his chest. He finally released her lips, but their foreheads were still pressed together. A tear seeped from his closed eyelids, hung on his eyelashes at the corner of his eye, trembled slightly, and fell down.
His voice rang out, hoarse, carrying a hint of grievance that even he himself might not have realized: "Yun Muqian."
He didn't open his eyes, and another tear fell.
"Will your life remain completely unchanged without me?"
