I'm sorry, but your fiancé loves me.

Chapter 36 Don't toy with my feelings, Yun Muqian, stay with me properly.

"Qin Qihan,"

She spoke, her voice soft but exceptionally clear in the quiet bedroom, "I have a question for you."

Backlit, his deep features stood out sharply under the dim bedside lamp. He sat back down beside her, waiting for her next words.

"Have you ever thought about," she said, her tone casual, "what kind of person you want to marry?"

Qin Qihan's expression changed in that instant.

Her face, which was originally quite gentle, suddenly became more slanted, her brow bones lowered slightly, and her eyes darkened in the dim light, even the lines of her shoulders hardened.

"What do you mean?"

Yun Muqian didn't show her emotions; she even smiled slightly and added in a light, casual tone, "I was just asking. Since you're not with Zhou Xue anymore, what kind of person are you going to be with in the future?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Qin Qihan suddenly grabbed her wrist.

The force wasn't heavy, but it carried an inescapable sense of control. He leaned down, enveloping her in the small space between his body and the pillow.

"You're asking me who I'll be with in the future?"

Every word he spoke was laced with anger. "Yun Muqian, you're asking me this kind of question?"

His fingers tightened slightly, the pressure on her wrist making her frown slightly, but she didn't pull away.

"Don't you know who I broke up with Zhou Xue for?"

His gaze was fixed on her. "You think I'm just bored?"

Yun Muqian was pinned down by him, trying to calm him down.

"You're asking me now what kind of person I want to marry?" But he couldn't calm down. "I'll definitely be with you. Do you understand?"

She suddenly found herself unable to respond.

She had thought she was ready to leave at any time, but now that he had her pinned down and was staring at her with such intense heat, she found herself speechless and unable to give him a reply.

"I was just saying it casually, don't overthink it."

"Don't ask those kinds of questions again," he whispered. "I don't want to hear them."

"Okay," she said, "then I won't ask anymore."

But Qin Qihan wasn't going to let her off so easily. He buried his face in the crook of her neck: "Yun Muqian, do you want to be with me or not?"

Her mind told her that the best course of action now was to go along with what he was saying and glide the conversation away in a relaxed manner, just as she had done countless times before.

She's good at this.

So she smiled, reached out and hooked her arm around his neck, leaned in and gently pecked him on the corner of his mouth: "Of course I want to. How could I not want to be with you?"

But this time he didn't let go. As soon as she finished speaking, Qin Qihan raised his hand, placed his palm on her neck, and pressed her back onto the bed.

"Yun Muqian," he called her name, "look at me."

"Are you really with me?"

Yun Muqian's throat moved slightly. His palm was pressed against her neck. His hand was so big that it could almost encircle her entire neck. The feeling of being completely controlled made her breath catch in her throat for a moment.

"Didn't I already say that..." But this time, just as the corners of her mouth curved up, he increased the pressure of his thumb, causing her smile to stop halfway.

"Don't give me that joking around look," he said. "Answer me seriously."

She stopped smiling. "I'm serious about being with you."

Qin Qihan stared at her for several seconds before slowly releasing his grip on her neck, sitting up straight, and the bedroom remained quiet for a while.

Yun Muqian looked down at her wrist. There was a faint red mark where he had touched her earlier. She rubbed the spot, then pulled the blanket up to cover herself and turned her face away from Qin Qihan.

Qin Qihan sat on the edge of the bed, sensing her sudden change in demeanor, and turned to look at her: "What's wrong?"

Are you angry?

"No."

Qin Qihan sat there for a few seconds, then reached out and touched her shoulder: "Yun Muqian."

She ignored him.

"Mu Qian." He called again, his voice lower than before, with a hint of probing.

She still ignored him, only tilting her head slightly to turn her face further to the side.

Qin Qihan looked at her curled-up back, took off his shoes, got into bed, leaned over from behind, and wrapped his arm around her waist.

"I'm angry."

Yun Muqian was held in his arms, she didn't struggle, but she also didn't turn around: "You were too fierce just now."

Qin Qihan tightened his grip on her waist slightly, his chin brushing against her shoulder: "Getting fierce again?"

"You choked me," she said, her tone accusing, "You almost strangled me to death."

"I didn't pinch you," he said, a hint of helpless amusement in his voice. "I was just holding you down."

"Isn't that the same?"

Qin Qihan placed his hand on her hand that was rubbing her wrist, pushed her hand away, looked down at the faint red mark on her wrist bone, and gently rubbed the skin.

"I'm sorry," he said in a low voice, "I wasn't careful with my strength."

That's the kind of person he is. As long as the topic of leaving him isn't brought up, he's gentle and kind, but as soon as he senses something's wrong, he immediately turns hostile.
