I'm sorry, but your fiancé loves me.
Chapter 35 Don't fall in love with me, I'm just using you.
Yun Muqian did not admit it. She had made a promise to herself that she would not tell anyone about her background before she had successfully taken revenge.
She wasn't ready yet.
She gently but firmly withdrew from Chi Qiusheng's embrace, looked up at him, and said, "I really should go."
Chi Qiusheng looked at her, did not try to stop her, but simply nodded, turned around and took a white coat from the coat rack in the living room.
"It's getting colder outside," he said, handing her his coat. "Wear this, don't catch a cold."
Yun Muqian hesitated for half a second before taking the coat and draping it over her shoulders. The coat was very large, almost covering her entire body, with the hem reaching her thighs.
She didn't refuse, knowing whether she forgot to refuse or subconsciously wanted to take something that belonged to him with her.
"I've washed it and will return it to you," she said.
Chi Qiusheng stood at the doorway, watching her, a slight smile playing on his lips: "No rush."
He also asked for her contact information, without revealing anything, just saying he wanted to know more about her.
He actually thought this was his second chance.
She turned and walked out. As the elevator doors closed, she saw him still standing at the door, one hand on the door frame, his gaze falling on her across the corridor.
When she reached the first floor, she stepped out of the building and was greeted by the night breeze.
She pulled her coat tighter around her shoulders, turning up the collar to cover half her face. The clean scent of soap lingered in her nostrils, making her feel somewhat dazed.
Qin Qihan's car was already parked on the side of the road. The black body reflected a cold light under the streetlights, and the driver's side window was lowered by a third, revealing half of his profile.
She walked over, opened the passenger door, and got in, bringing in a blast of cool air.
Qin Qihan turned his head to look at her. His gaze moved from her face to the coat on her shoulder.
"Whose clothes?" he asked.
"It's for a friend," she said, taking her coat off her shoulder, folding it, and placing it on her lap.
Qin Qihan didn't reply, but his gaze lingered on her face for a few seconds, noticing the slight redness at the corner of her eyes.
"What happened to your eyes?" he asked, his voice lower than before.
"Nothing much," she said, turning her head to look out the car window. "It's a bit windy, that's why."
Qin Qihan remained silent for a while. He started the car, but didn't immediately shift into gear. The car was so quiet that the faint hum of the instrument panel could be heard.
He seemed to think about it for a while.
"Is it because of Zhou Xue?" he asked, his tone softening slightly. "Has she contacted you again?"
Yun Muqian did not speak.
Qin Qihan took her hand off her knee and held it in his palm. His palm was dry and warm, and he gently rubbed his thumb on the back of her hand.
"I've told you before," he said, his voice low, "since I've decided to be with you, I'll be serious about it. I'll handle Zhou Xue's situation; you don't need to worry about it."
"I won't let you suffer any injustice."
Yun Muqian lowered her head, looked at the hand he was holding, and slowly pulled her hand out of his palm.
"No," she said, her voice calm and devoid of emotion, "it's not because of Zhou Xue."
She leaned back in her seat, turning her face towards the car window. "You can keep driving."
The air in the car grew heavy. She heard Qin Qihan speak after a long silence, as if talking to himself:
"Yun Muqian, what exactly are you thinking?"
"Nothing," she said lightly, her voice slightly hoarse from a hangover. "I just drank too much last night, and my head is still a little dizzy."
That's true; she felt that all she needed was a good night's sleep.
After she finished speaking, she closed her eyes. Qin Qihan glanced at her, gripped the steering wheel tightly, and didn't ask any further questions.
After arriving home, she changed into slippers and headed to the bedroom. Qin Qihan asked from behind her:
"Are you hungry? Would you like something to eat?"
"I'm not hungry," she said without turning her head.
But Qin Qihan still went into the kitchen.
She sat on her bed in the bedroom and heard the sounds of the refrigerator being opened, dishes being taken out, and the soft "pop" of the gas stove being lit outside.
She wanted to stop him and say it wasn't necessary, but she swallowed the words back. She really didn't have the energy to argue with him.
About ten minutes later, he came in carrying a white porcelain plate with two slices of golden-brown toast, the edges slightly charred, and a small piece of butter on top, slowly melting.
He placed the plate on the bedside table and glanced at her.
"Eat first, then sleep."
He stood by the bed, still wearing the dark gray shirt he had worn when he left home. The cuffs were casually rolled up to his forearms, and there was a small wet patch on the hem of the shirt.
There's a saying that goes, "A man will do anything if he loves someone."
Qin Qihan is a ruthless and decisive man in the business world, but standing in her bedroom with a plate of freshly fried toast, he looks no different from any other househusband.
"Just leave it there," she said, her tone still indifferent. "I'll eat it later."
Qin Qihan insisted that she eat, saying that while older men are more caring, they can also be quite controlling: "If you don't eat, you'll feel uncomfortable on an empty stomach."
Left with no other choice, she reached out and picked up a slice of toast, which was still warm. She quietly finished the slice, then lay down, pulled the blanket up to her chin, and closed her eyes.
She didn't know when she fell asleep, but she slept very soundly.
In a daze, she felt the bedroom door being pushed open a crack again, and someone walked in, their footsteps very light. She was too sleepy, and after struggling a few times, she couldn't open her eyes, and her consciousness sank again.
In her half-awake state, she felt the mattress dip slightly, indicating that someone had sat down next to her.
She thought Qin Qihan had gone to work, but she didn't expect him to still be here.
Then a warm hand covered her calf, the fingers gently massaging along the lines of her leg with just the right amount of pressure, pushing up from her ankle to the back of her knee, and then slowly pressing back down.
Her legs were indeed a little sore; she had been standing in high heels for most of the night, and her calf muscles were quite tense. The hand massaged her patiently, the fingertips gently rubbing and massaging her tense muscles in circles, without any rush or impatience.
She opened her eyes halfway.
Qin Qihan sat on the edge of the bed, turned to the side, and pressed her calves with one hand outside the blanket. He didn't notice that she was awake and pressed them quietly and gently.
Yun Muqian looked at him, unsure of what to say for a moment.
She had never seen Qin Qihan like this before. When she first met him, he was always clean-cut, sharp, and exuded an unapproachable aloofness. She couldn't imagine him massaging someone's legs, nor could she imagine him going into the kitchen to fry toast for someone.
She finally couldn't resist moving her leg and pulling it out of his hand.
He looked up and met her open eyes, pausing for a moment.
"woke up?"
Yun Muqian propped herself up on her elbows and sat up against the headboard.
"Young Master Qin," she said, her voice still slightly nasal from just waking up, "you can massage people's legs too?"
"I'll only massage you." Qin Qihan looked at her:
"What's wrong with you today?"
He cared a lot about her feelings, but she was just feeling a little unwell after a hangover. However, he felt that she was unhappy, and if she was unhappy, would she break up with him?
Yun Muqian smiled and said, "It's nothing, I'm just a little tired."
Qin Qihan reached out and pulled her into his arms: "Rest if you're tired, I'm here."
Qin Qihan was genuinely good to her, which was too good for her, exceeding her expectations, and she even felt a little uneasy.
Because her original plan was simply to break up Zhou Xue's engagement; that was her only objective.
Qin Qihan was only playing around with her at first, and she knew that very well when they first got together.
He was one of the most prominent figures in the city—young, handsome, rich, powerful, and never short of women.
She was just a secretary with no background or connections; her only assets were her face and her youthful body.
She thought he was after something new, while she was after his status and resources; it was a mutually beneficial arrangement, and they would part ways amicably once they were done with each other.
But things didn't seem to go as she expected.
He made her toast, massaged her legs, and kept licking her when she was cold and didn't want to talk. He approached her in a way she never expected, not the condescending favor she initially thought he was bestowing.
He is taking care of her.
This man truly wants to be with her now.
She suddenly felt a little panicked because she had no intention of taking responsibility for him.
She stole his time, his attention, and the tenderness he should have given to someone else.
She knew perfectly well that once the matter was settled, she would leave without looking back, returning him to the world that originally belonged to him.
Judging from the current situation, she won't be able to get away anytime soon.
She stirred slightly in his arms, and Qin Qihan felt it. He looked down at her, his chin brushing against the top of her head: "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing," she said, making up a casual excuse to cover up her discomfort, "I'm just a little hot."
He loosened his grip slightly. "Then I'll turn the air conditioning down a bit."
Just as he was about to get up to get the remote control, Yun Muqian suddenly reached out and grabbed the hem of his clothes.
