Border Prisoner: The Mad Boss Seduces Her Every Night
Chapter 51 First Meeting with Xu Chenglin
The border town, which is considered a "no man's land," has an official name: Wumeng. However, the locals call it the Gate of Hell.
The three border lines twist into a knot here, and countless hidden paths lie tucked away in the folds of the mountains.
Shi Luyu was lured in by a photo: someone posted a set of pictures of the morning mist in the border village in the group chat, and she immediately fell in love with the light and shadow.
She followed the guide for most of the day and shot a lot of footage. The afternoon sun slanted down from the back of the mountain ridge, and she squatted by a dry riverbed to photograph wild grass, completely unaware that the soil under her feet was a shade darker than the rest of the area.
It was a patch of freshly filled topsoil.
The moment she stepped on it, the entire ground collapsed.
Shi Luyu screamed as her body plummeted downwards, her side slamming against the rough earthen wall, the pain making her vision blur. She had fallen into a trap about two meters deep, the bottom of which was covered with soft mud and dead leaves. She hadn't broken any bones, but she twisted her ankle when she landed, and a large patch of skin on her side was scraped off, causing a burning pain.
She looked up at the cave entrance, where sunlight streamed down, and dust swirled in the beams of light.
"Is anyone there? Help!"
She called out several times, but only her own echo reverberated through the valley.
Just as her voice was about to go hoarse, the roar of an engine came from afar.
It wasn't just one vehicle, but an entire convoy. The sound grew closer and louder, causing bits of soil to fall from the pit walls.
Shi Luyu stood on tiptoe to look out and saw a large armored vehicle convoy coming from the hillside. The lead vehicle was a few military off-road vehicles, followed by troop carriers. The wheels rolled over the dirt road, raising clouds of yellow dust.
The convoy stopped beside the trap and circled the area where she was twice.
The door of the first car was kicked open from the inside, and a young man jumped out.
He was probably in his early twenties, wearing a black tactical vest that revealed his muscular arms.
His features were rugged: thick eyebrows, a high nose, sharp lips, and a naturally curved mouth that looked like he was always smirking. His hair was shaved very short, almost a buzz cut, revealing a clean and sharp scalp.
He walked to the edge of the trap, squatted down, and looked down at the jade stones in the pit. The slight smile on his lips slowly widened:
"Hey, we caught one alive."
Shi Luyu looked up at him, unsure whether to ask for help or run away.
The man waved, and several people behind him quickly lowered the rope. He jumped into the pit himself, put one arm around her waist, grabbed the rope with the other, and kicked off the pit wall twice to pull her up.
The movements were swift and decisive; her feet had barely left the bottom of the pit before she was lifted to the ground.
Before Shi Luyu could even say thank you, a black cloth was put over her eyes.
"What are you doing—" Her words were cut off by a rough, large hand.
Someone forced her into a car, and the sound of the car door closing was dull and resolute.
……
About twenty minutes later, the blindfold was removed.
Shi Luyu was led into a military tent.
The tent was large, with a thick moisture-proof mat on the ground. A folding table stood in the middle, with a map and walkie-talkie spread out on it. Ammunition boxes were piled up in the corner, and the air was filled with the mixed smell of engine oil and gunpowder.
The young man sat casually on the folding chair behind the table, his legs propped up on the tabletop, his boots covered in red mud.
He pulled a military knife from the leather sheath at his waist and casually trimmed his nails, the blade scraping against the edge of his nails with a soft rustling sound.
He looked up at her, his gaze sweeping over her from head to toe with the casualness of someone appraising merchandise.
"You're the woman my brother's been seeing a lot lately? What's your name?"
Shi Luyu stood in the middle of the tent, her waist still aching and her ankles throbbing.
She instinctively took a half step back, but the guards behind her blocked her way.
"Who is your brother?" She tried to keep her voice from trembling too much and forced a wary expression. "Since you know me, don't you know my name?"
The man stopped wielding the knife.
He stuck the tip of the knife into the wooden board on the table, stood up, and walked towards her.
He was a full head taller than her, looking down at her from above. His arrogant appearance seemed even more intimidating at that distance.
"Stop talking nonsense," his voice wasn't loud, but every word was laced with impatient harshness. "I told you to speak, so just speak."
Shi Luyu was startled by his sudden increase in imposing manner, and her eyes immediately turned red.
But she bit her lip to stop the tears from falling, raised her chin, and said, word by word, "Shi Luyu! Just say it, why are you being so fierce?"
The man frowned slightly when he saw her timid yet stubborn appearance.
"Stop crying, I haven't even started to tormenting you yet." He reached out and pinched her chin, turning it from side to side as if checking a horse's teeth.
"Do you know how many mercenaries my brother cost me? 26. You'll have to pay for them all."
Shi Luyu finally couldn't hold back her tears, and one fell with a plop.
But she didn't dodge, letting him pinch her chin, her voice trembling with tears as she stubbornly said, "Who exactly is your brother? I didn't break it, why should I pay him back?"
"Stop playing dumb!" The man suddenly raised his voice, causing Shi Luyu to tremble. "Who exactly is Xu Yuanjia to you?"
Xu Yuanjia.
These three words were like a bucket of ice water poured over her head. Shi Luyu was stunned for a moment, tears still clinging to her eyelashes. She opened her mouth, her voice barely audible, like a mosquito's buzz: "It's...it's my brother Jiajia."
"Jiajia? Brother?"
The man released her chin and took a step back.
He tilted his head to look at her, his expression changing from sharp to confused, then from confused to ridiculous, and finally to uncontrollable maniacal laughter.
He bent over, slapping his thigh, laughing so hard tears were almost streaming down his face. The guards inside the tent looked at each other, none of them daring to utter a sound.
After laughing enough, he straightened up, wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes with his thumb, and pointed to his chest.
"I am Hsu Yuan-chia's younger brother," he said, emphasizing each word as if he were watching an interesting play.
"My surname is also Xu, and my name is Xu Chenglin. How come I didn't know I had a 'sister' like you in my family?"
