Rin Tohsaka snapped back to reality as the cold night wind swept over her exposed legs and feet.

Thick, impenetrable clouds obscured the night sky. The streetlights flickered wildly as if malfunctioning, casting distorted, dancing shadows on the wet asphalt.

The entire street was eerily quiet, with only the sound of my own heartbeat remaining, and a nauseating smell of rust permeating the air.

"Why am I here?" Rin Tohsaka frowned in confusion, looking at her pajamas, her mind a little blank.

Just then, from the darkness at the end of the road, a disproportionately tall and thin figure slowly emerged.

It has no facial features, no limbs, only countless sticky and eerie tentacles that grow wildly from its body, waving wildly in the air like venomous snakes, swallowing up even the light of streetlights wherever it goes.

Rin Tohsaka's breathing suddenly stopped.

The hairs on her body stood on end instantly, her instincts screaming for danger. Without hesitation, she raised her hand and shouted:

"Lancer!"

Nothing happened.

The expected sound of Karna breaking through the air did not occur, nor was there even a trace of magical energy.

Rin Tohsaka was taken aback, only then realizing that the Command Seal on the back of her hand had vanished without a trace, leaving only a patch of fair skin.

Before she could process this horrifying fact, the foremost tentacle, accompanied by a whooshing sound, was already piercing straight at her face!

Rin Tohsaka rolled away to avoid the attack, the tentacle plunging deep into the ground where she had just stood, sending shards of rock flying. She scrambled to her feet and ran without looking back.

"What the hell! Why did I have to be the one to encounter this kind of mess!" She gritted her teeth and tried to fire a few spell bullets, but found that magic was no longer working.

"What a joke!" She was so anxious that her eyes were a little red, and she could only rush forward with all her might.

The dark figure followed her slowly, as if toying with its prey. Countless tentacles reached out from all directions, brushing against her hair and shoulders, each time almost dragging her into the darkness.

Rin Tohsaka darted into the alley, using the complex terrain to hide. Her feet were bled from the friction, and the hem of her pajamas was torn in several places, leaving her looking disheveled.

Just when she was about to collapse from exhaustion and thought she was going to die here, a head suddenly appeared around the corner not far ahead.

A pretty girl was waving vigorously at her, her voice clear and crisp.

"Here! Come here quickly!"

Seeing this, Rin Tohsaka didn't think much about who this person who had suddenly appeared was and rushed over as if nothing was wrong. The girl grabbed her wrist, pulled her open an ordinary door, and went inside.

After a dizzying, spinning sensation, the biting cold wind disappeared.

Rin Tohsaka blinked and found herself standing in a sun-drenched garden.

The afternoon sun shone warmly on me, the air was filled with the scent of roses and lavender, and the buzzing of bees could be heard in the distance. It was a world apart from the eerie and terrifying street I had just been on.

"Huh?" She turned around blankly, and behind her, there was only a wall covered with ivy, not even a door in sight.

"What... what exactly is going on?"

"This is your dream." The mysterious woman released her hand and explained, then paused and added.

"Even if it's a nightmare?"

"Does that mean I'm dreaming?" Upon hearing this, Rin Tohsaka instantly perked up, rolled up her sleeves, and prepared to settle scores with that thing from before.

"In my dreams, would you let me bully you?"

"Hey, hey, wait a minute!" The girl rushed over and grabbed her arm, pulling her back forcefully.

"Even though it's your dream, it's not something you can do whatever you want! If that thing grabs you, it will devour your consciousness, and you'll never wake up again!"

"So what do you do?" Rin Tohsaka stopped and looked her up and down, feeling that she looked somewhat familiar.

"I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Ning Meng!" Ning Meng stood up straight and gave a proper salute.

"Known in the martial arts world as the Guardian of Dreams!"

"...Oh, I remember now, you're that national idol, right!" Rin Tohsaka clapped her hands, a look of sudden realization on her face.

Why are you in my dream?

"Maybe you're a fan of mine too. You think about it during the day and dream about it at night, right?" Ning Meng winked at her.

"Oh, that's true..." Rin Tohsaka smiled, then her expression changed instantly.

"That's impossible!"

Ning Meng playfully stuck out her tongue.

"Okay, actually I have the superpower to travel freely in other people's dreams."

"I'm here to help you. If you don't mind, you can treat me like a game NPC!"

Looking at the other person's serious expression as they spoke strange things, Rin Tohsaka always had a strange sense of déjà vu.

She shook her head, clearing her mind of the jumbled thoughts: "So you know a lot about that dark figure? What exactly is it?"

"I'm not really sure either," Ning Meng shook her head.

Have you been watching the news lately?

"...No." Rin Tohsaka shook her head.

Why are you suddenly bringing this up?

"Many people fall into a coma without warning and cannot be woken up no matter what medical methods are used. What they have in common is that they were fine during the day the day before, slept for a night, and never woke up again the next day," Ning Meng explained.

"That thing is the culprit?" Rin Tohsaka pinched her chin, lost in thought.

"I think so," Ning Meng nodded.

"I've seen it in many people's dreams. It hunts down dreamers, and once it catches them..."

She didn't finish her sentence, but her meaning was clear.

"How can I wake up?" Rin Tohsaka looked around at the cozy garden.

"This place seems pretty safe; it shouldn't be able to find us, right?"

"You can only leave here when your body wakes up naturally. As for whether it will come looking for you..." Ning Meng raised her finger and pointed to the sky, her expression becoming somewhat helpless.

"It's here."

As soon as he finished speaking, the once clear sky was instantly swallowed by deep darkness.

The warm sunlight vanished, the fragrance of flowers turned into a pungent stench, and all the plants withered and turned black at a visible speed. That familiar, tall, thin, dark figure had appeared less than ten meters behind them, countless tentacles writhing excitedly.

"You're giving me some spice!" Ning Meng shouted, then turned and ran.

"Wait, wait for me!" Rin Tohsaka followed closely behind.

Seeing this, the dark figure also waved its tentacles and chased after them.

"Isn't there any way to destroy it?" Rin Tohsaka shouted breathlessly as she ran.

Ning Meng didn't speak. She thought for a moment, then suddenly stopped, took out a black doll from her pocket, turned around and threw it at the chasing shadow in one swift motion.

"Search on Yiku, Pokemon!"

"CATASTROM!"

Thick black smoke billowed up instantly, accompanied by a deafening thud. A muscular, black man burst out of the smoke, his fist, as big as a casserole dish, slammed into the black figure's torso with earth-shattering force!

The terrifying force sent the shadowy figure flying dozens of meters away, crashing into a wall.

"Wow! That's amazing!" Rin Tohsaka's eyes lit up immediately, and she excitedly pumped her fist.

"Isn't this enough to win?! Why didn't you bring it out sooner!"

Before she could finish speaking, countless thick tentacles suddenly burst forth from the ground, tightly binding the calamity's limbs and body like pythons. In just a few seconds, they had bound the imposing black muscle giant into an airtight bundle.

The calamity suddenly exerted its power, breaking free of the tentacles on its body, but the next second, more tentacles surged up like a tide, binding it tightly once again, making it impossible for it to move an inch.

The dark figure crawled out of the ruins, not even glancing at the entangled Calamity, and chased after Rin Tohsaka and Ningmeng once again.

"See, this is how it ends." Ning Meng raised her hand expressionlessly, retracted the calamity, and turned to run away again.

"I've tried it countless times in other people's dreams. This thing is not only indestructible, but it can also control things."

"Aaaaah~ I can't take it anymore!" Rin Tohsaka cried out as she ran, clutching her head.
