Gu Feng didn't think he was particularly arrogant.

He was simply stating the facts; there was no exaggeration involved.

However, such words would be a huge insult to anyone who heard them, let alone to the group from Chu and Han.

This not only enraged Captain Wu and his team, but also angered Director Chu, who was usually very well-mannered.

"Gu Feng, stop making trouble here." Chu Hanzhong said, turning to his daughter and shouting, "You take your classmates back to school right now, we don't need you here."

"dad--"

Chu Xinran felt extremely wronged. She called out to her father, but he ignored her. She couldn't help but give Gu Feng a reproachful look.

I had hoped that calling him would be of some help, but when he arrived, he just caused trouble and didn't offer any assistance.

"Tch, if you don't welcome me, I don't care to get involved in this mess either." Gu Feng said, turning to leave while still insulting the others, "You're all pig-brains, so stupid, and you want to save people? Just wait to collect their corpses."

This was intolerable! Captain Wu finally lost his temper, swiftly catching up to Gu Feng and blocking his path, his eyes wide with fury as he demanded, "What did you say? Say it again!"

Gu Feng sneered: "Didn't you hear what I said? I said you're all hopelessly stupid—"

"You bastard, if I don't beat you up today, I'm not a Wu!" Captain Wu was furious and raised his big hand to slap Gu Feng across the face.

"Wait." Chu Hanzhong finally seemed to understand something—he felt that there was something more to Gu Feng's words.

"Chief, don't stop me, this kid needs to be taught a lesson!" Captain Wu said indignantly.

Chu Hanzhong glared at him until Captain Wu's anger subsided, then turned to Gu Feng: "Gu Feng, do you have some kind of plan?"

"Of course I have a plan. But why should I tell you? Citizens aren't obligated to offer brilliant ideas, are they?" Gu Feng sneered. Although he knew that what he was doing was petty, so what? He couldn't be bothered with pretense when dealing with people he didn't like.

Chu Hanzhong was left somewhat amused and exasperated. It seemed he had inadvertently offended this man again.

Gu Feng didn't find it particularly funny.

His pettiness wasn't unintentional; it was deliberate. "If someone treats me with respect, I will treat them with even greater respect; if someone mistreats me even an inch, I will retaliate with vengeance."

He was determined to teach these ignorant fools a lesson.

"Gu Feng..." Her clothes were gently tugged, and a sweet, soft voice called out from beside her.

Gu Feng didn't even need to turn around to know that Chu Xinran had used that trump card again.

The "honey trap" strategy can be effective once or twice, but if you rely on it too much, it becomes tiresome.

Gu Feng said impatiently, "Get to the point, why are you dragging me around like this?"

As Chu Xinran spent more time with Gu Feng, she gradually figured out his temperament—he was someone who would only respond to gentle persuasion and not force.

Tailoring her approach to the situation and addressing the root cause was something Miss Chu excelled at. So, far from being angry, her voice softened even more: "Good Gu Feng, what time is it? Don't stoop to their level, okay? Saving lives is the priority. Chen Hongyin and his gang of bastards have long lost their minds. My mother... who knows what she's suffering. If you have any ideas, just say them, okay?"

Lust can cloud judgment, and Gu Feng knew all too well that beauty was like poison, so he wouldn't be easily fooled. However, he still revealed his plan. Having already achieved his goal of humiliating Chu Hanzhong and his group, and having vented much of his anger, it was time to get down to business after all this time. Since Chu Xinran had come to ask for his help, he might as well take the opportunity to comply.

"Actually, finding Zheng Fengjiao is incredibly simple. But some people insist on making it complicated, with things like airplanes, police dogs, and marine police. Pshaw, I'm more like a water snake." Gu Feng's words, delivered in that sarcastic tone, caused everyone present to turn red and white, glaring at him.

"If you keep glaring at me, I really won't say anything more," Gu Feng said in a pretentious tone, putting on a very high-handed act. Seeing that the crowd glared at him even more fiercely, he actually shut his mouth and didn't say another word.

"Gu Feng, don't take it to heart." Chu Xinran was originally a girl with a strong personality, but when she met Gu Feng, her sharp personality melted away like ice cream on a hot summer day.

Seeing that Chu Xinran's eyes were red with anxiety, Gu Feng finally relented: "I glanced at the phone video just now and saw that Zheng Fengjiao was tied up along with her car. I rode in her car today and know it's a very high-end sedan. My sister said that most high-end sedans produced nowadays are equipped with GPS tracking systems. I don't quite understand how it works, but my sister explained it clearly: as long as it has this tracking system installed, no matter where the car is, you can find out with just one phone call."

Upon hearing this, everyone suddenly realized what had happened. Although the video taken by the helpful citizen was blurry, it clearly showed that Zheng Fengjiao had been abducted along with her car.

That means—if the car is there, the person is there. Finding the car would most likely lead to finding the person. Using GPS to locate them is the simplest method imaginable. Yet, none of them seemed to have thought of it.

"But what if they abandon the car halfway and move the people away instead?" Captain Wu instinctively questioned.

"You're asking me? Who am I supposed to ask?" Gu Feng rolled his eyes at him and said coldly, "If the car really gets stolen, then it's just bad luck for Zheng Fengjiao..."

As he spoke, a glance out of the corner of his eye caught Chu Xinran's suddenly pale face, and he quickly changed the subject: "...However, I think the first thing you should do right now isn't praying to gods and Buddhas, hoping that Chen Hongyin isn't that smart. Instead, you should quickly get someone to locate the car. Once you find the car, you'll know if the person is nearby, right?"

These words were a wake-up call. Without Chu Hanzhong's instructions, Captain Wu had already taken out his phone and called the Criminal Investigation Technology Section.

Not long after, the Criminal Investigation Technology Department called back, providing not only the car's real-time location and specific address, but also the latitude and longitude accurate to the decimal point.

With the specific address, Chu Hanzhong and his group found the abandoned warehouse without any effort.

Gu Feng had warned them that Chen Hongyin's group might have guns. To be on the safe side, Chu Hanzhong didn't let everyone approach rashly, but instead found a high place at a distance to observe the activity inside the warehouse first.

When Chu Hanzhong peered through the binoculars at the scene inside the warehouse through a corner of the window, a surge of intense nausea, dizziness, powerlessness, and despair welled up in his chest. This culminated in a devastating rage, like a raging fire exploding within his chest.

Overcome with rage, he felt a sharp pain in his chest. Weakly, he put down his binoculars, clutched his chest, and stepped aside, panting heavily.

Seeing that the bureau chief's expression was off, the subordinates beside him also raised their binoculars and looked into the warehouse. Immediately afterward, their expressions all changed.

The female hostage inside is Director Chu's wife. Even though she's his ex-wife, what man could tolerate something like this?

"Chief, why don't you take a break and leave this to me?" Captain Wu's words were filled with respect, but even more so with sympathy. If it were his own woman inside, he probably would have gone mad long ago; he wouldn't be as calm and strong as Chu Hanzhong.

"No need." Chu Hanzhong waved his hand abruptly, but the gesture clearly lacked its usual strength.

"Chief..." Team Leader Wu and the others felt the same pain as Chu Hanzhong, seeing the agony on his face. Their chief was a man of strong character, clear principles, and always treated subordinates with respect, deeply loved by everyone. Such a kind man, it was bad enough that he married that woman, but now he had to endure this utter humiliation. Heaven had been so unfair to him.

"No need to say anything more, I'm fine." Chu Hanzhong's voice deepened, and he decisively shouted, "Everyone, listen to my command!"

"Yes," the crowd responded in unison.

"These kidnappers are likely armed and have hostages. Our primary task is to rescue the hostages and ensure their safety; only then can we apprehend the criminals. We must be extremely cautious during the operation. These kidnappers are ruthless and could commit inhuman acts at any time; we must not act recklessly. Do you understand?" Chu Hanzhong said in a deep voice, scanning the crowd.

Everyone was taken aback. Even Gu Feng, who was standing at a distance, was secretly surprised. He didn't need to look closely at the warehouse; he could guess what was going on just by looking at Chu Hanzhong's expression.

Any incompetent man would have been filled with resentment and rushed in to fight to the death. Let alone Director Chu, who held a high position; a single order, "Charge in and kill without mercy," would have ended everything.

Although doing so would very likely result in Zheng Fengjiao being accidentally injured, that woman was already vulgar and unbearable, and now she was a withered flower, tasteless to eat and not a pity to discard. If she were to unfortunately be shot and die, it would be the end of everything.

However, Chu Hanzhong chose neither of these two paths. He endured with an extraordinary willpower, using remarkable calmness and rationality to orchestrate the encirclement. How much courage and determination did that require?

"Well done, Chu-Han Contention! A true man who can bend and stretch. I underestimated you before." Gu Feng silently praised him in his heart, then turned and left without a sound.

Seeing everyone staring blankly in silence, Chu Hanzhong roared angrily, "Did you understand?"

"Understood!" Everyone's hearts tightened, and they responded in unison.

"Sniper, where are you?" Chu Hanzhong shouted again.

"Your subordinates are here." Two snipers immediately stepped forward.

"Each of you choose a favorable terrain, lock onto your target, and be ready to act at any time," Chu Hanzhong gave a brief and powerful order.

"Yes, sir." The two snipers acknowledged the order and hurried off.

"Captain Wu." Chu Hanzhong's gaze shifted.

"Here." Captain Wu's expression turned serious.

"Take a squad and go around to the back of the warehouse. Seal off all the exits."

"Yes."

"The rest of you, follow me to the main gate," Chu Hanzhong said finally.

"Yes!" The crowd's emotions began to rise. Because the battle was finally about to begin.

Just as Chu Hanzhong was about to order immediate action, one of the police officers monitoring the warehouse suddenly exclaimed, pointing to the warehouse roof and crying out, "Chief, look, something's up!"

Everyone looked in the direction he pointed, and their faces paled in horror—sometime during the night, a solitary figure had silently appeared on the high roof of the warehouse.
