The boy pressed the button for the 18th floor, then whispered something in the girl's ear, and the girl laughed and playfully punched him.

Yang Zhiyan shifted her gaze to the elevator's digital panel.

Qin Yuzheng pressed the button for the 22nd floor. The numbers ticked down, and the couple got off on the 18th floor. The elevator doors closed, leaving only the two of them inside.

We've arrived at the 22nd floor.

The elevator doors opened, revealing a corridor carpeted in dark gray. Several abstract paintings hung on the walls, and the warm yellow lighting cast a soft glow on the carpet.

Qin Yuzheng walked ahead, his leather shoes making almost no sound on the carpet.

Yang Zhiyan followed behind him, not knowing what he was going to get or why he had brought her along.

He stopped in front of a door. It was a dark brown wooden door with no number, only a silver doorknob. He pushed the door open, stepped aside, and made way for him.

"Wait for me," Qin Yuzheng said, his voice trembling with nervousness, "It'll be quick."

Yang Zhiyan didn't understand why he was so nervous.

Yang Zhiyan walked in. The room was large, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the riverside night view. Cruise ships were moving slowly on the river, and the lights on the ships were reflected in the water, casting long golden ribbons of light.

The room wasn't fully lit; only a few wall lamps were on, casting a soft light as if filtered through a thin veil.

There was a faint floral scent in the air, a blend of roses and lilies, mixed with some indescribable freshness.

She went inside and stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the river view for a while. Then she noticed the room's decor.

The ground was covered with red flower petals, which stretched from the doorway all the way to the French windows.

A round table was placed in front of the French windows, covered with a white tablecloth, and on it was a small vase with a single white lily in it.

Why is this decoration so romantic? Did I come to the wrong place?

Yang Zhiyan turned around.

Qin Yuzheng stood behind her, holding a bouquet of roses in his hands. The petals were still glistening with water droplets in the dim light.

His white shirt shimmered with a soft beige hue under the warm yellow light, and his collar was neatly trimmed.

His hair was more carefully styled than usual, and his eyes shone with a warm, earnest, and slightly nervous light.

Yang Zhiyan's heart pounded. What was going on? Her fingers gripped the fabric of her skirt tightly.

"Zhiyan." Qin Yuzheng's nervous and blunt words suddenly popped out.

"I like you."

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

Yang Zhiyan stood at the end of the path paved with flower petals, watching Qin Yuzheng stare at her with nervous anxiety.

He had never shown this expression in front of her before; he was always calm, composed, and in control of everything.

But at this moment, Yang Zhiyan sensed his nervousness and unease.

"Say yes, say yes, say yes..."

Mu Cheng's voice came from the corner, accompanied by the rhythmic sound of clapping.

Qiu Jinyi joined in, and the two grown men stood in the corner, one clapping and the other making a fuss, creating a ridiculous yet lively scene.

Yang Zhiyan's nose suddenly stung with tears. She had been so carefully cherished, and on the night of Qixi Festival, her love had been expressed with roses, petals, and the view of the river outside the French windows.

It's truly a happy thing.

Jiang Siya said that if a relationship starts unclearly, it will end in a similarly confused way.

Therefore, at this moment, Qin Yuzheng was very serious about starting a relationship with her.

Yang Zhiyan nodded shyly.

Seeing her nod, Qin Yuzheng felt it was all worth it.

Yang Zhiyan lowered her head, looking at her hands clasped together in front of her. Her fingers were still trembling, trembling violently, and she clenched them even tighter.

Then she felt a hand reach out, warm and dry, gently taking her hand in its place.

His fingers wedged one by one between her fingers, slowly loosening her clenched fingers, then closing them together, their fingers intertwined.

His hands were much larger than hers, completely enveloping hers in his palm. That hand was still trembling slightly with excitement.

Qin Yuzheng, who was once a whiz in the world of fame and fortune and stood at the top of the pyramid, was now holding the hand of his beloved, his hand trembling.

With his other hand, he took the dark blue jewelry box out of his pocket and opened it.

The gold bracelet, with its plum blossom pendant, gleamed softly under the lamplight. He lowered his head, took the chain out of the box, and, somewhat clumsily, managed to fasten it after a few moments.

Her wrist was very thin, and the chain slipped down a bit after it was fastened. He gently pushed it up with his hand, stopping it above her wrist bone.

His fingertips felt a pulse on the inside of her wrist, beating fast, thumping.

"Kiss me, kiss me, kiss me..."

Mu Cheng started again, this time even louder and clapping harder, as if applauding a wonderful performance. Qiu Jinyi laughed so hard he almost spilled his water glass.

Qin Yuzheng turned and glanced at Mu Cheng. His gaze held the same admiration; he had good judgment. Now she had an excuse to ask for her boyfriend's perks.

Qin Yuzheng turned back to look at Yang Zhiyan. His face was very close to hers, so close that she could see her own reflection in his pupils.

She was in his eyes, small, whole, enveloped by his gaze.

"Is that alright?" Qin Yuzheng asked.

His voice was low, and his breath brushed against her face, warm with a hint of minty coolness.

Yang Zhiyan's face turned even redder. She lowered her head, her chin almost touching her collarbone. She nodded shyly.

Qin Yuzheng approached.

His lips touched hers. Very lightly, like a dragonfly skimming the water; he dared not be too bold, afraid of scaring away the girlfriend he had finally won over.

Qin Yuzheng's lips were soft and warm, with a minty coolness.

The moment their lips touched, Qin Yuzheng finally felt her softness, more wonderful than any dream.

The realistic touch made both of them blush.

Qin Yuzheng's ears were so red they looked like they were about to bleed. Yang Zhiyan's face turned red all the way to her neck, and she lowered her head, not daring to look at him.

The two stood in the middle of a path paved with flower petals, holding hands and interlocking their fingers, neither daring to look at the other first.

Mu Cheng squatted on the ground in the corner, laughing so hard. Qiu Jinyi put his water glass on the table, freed his hands to clap, and the applause echoed in the empty conference hall, like the sound of firecrackers on a festive day.

Qin Yuzheng took a deep breath, turned to look at Mu Cheng, who was squatting on the ground laughing so hard his shoulders were shaking, and squeezed out a single word through gritted teeth: "Get lost."

Mu Cheng stood up, raised his hands in a gesture of surrender, and didn't stop smiling.

"Fine, fine, I'll leave, I'll leave. You continue." He pulled Qiu Jinyi along, and the two of them walked towards the door with their arms around each other's shoulders.

As he reached the door, Mu Cheng glanced back, took out his phone, and watched the video he had just secretly recorded.

"Mu Cheng." Qin Yuzheng's tone was full of warning. Mu Cheng had known him for twenty years, how could he not know the implied meaning?

"Such a memorable day, it would be a shame not to capture it." Mu Cheng hid his phone behind his back and backed out the door. The door closed.
