His physiological preference

Chapter 140 Overprotection

The man who never hesitates to make decisions in meetings, the man Yang Zhiyan described as "more terrifying than loan sharks".

After learning that he was going to be a father, he turned into an overloaded machine that was on the verge of exploding at any moment.

On her first day back home, Yang Zhiyan saw a pen lying on the coffee table. She bent down to pick it up, but as soon as she bent down, a gust of wind came from behind her.

Qin Yuzheng had already rushed out of the kitchen, his voice coming urgently from behind:

"Don't move! Let me do it!"

Yang Zhiyan had already grasped the pen in her hand, straightened up, and turned to look at him with a puzzled expression.

He stood in front of her, his chest still rising and falling slightly, his expression one of relief, as if he had just escaped a close call.

"I was just bending down to pick up a pen," Yang Zhiyan said, her tone tinged with helplessness.

Qin Yuzheng reached out and took the pen from her hand, putting it back on the coffee table. "The internet says the first three months are the most unstable; you can't afford to make any mistakes."

He held her waist and pulled her towards the sofa. "Sit down, I'll get you whatever you need."

Yang Zhiyan sat down on the sofa, looking at his expression as if facing a formidable enemy.

"I just bent over, what could possibly happen? I'm not made of glass."

Qin Yuzheng squatted down in front of her, looked up at her, and stared intently:

"It's always better to be safe than sorry. My little one and my precious baby can't take any risks."

Yang Zhiyan paused for a moment, then opened her mouth, "Who are the little friend and the big baby?"

"The baby in your belly is a little one," he said, gently placing his hand on her flat stomach. "You are my precious baby."

Yang Zhiyan's ears burned from his use of the word "my darling".

She reached out and slapped his hand away, her tone masking her embarrassment, "Try to be normal."

Qin Yuzheng said, "I'm perfectly normal. Who dares to say it's abnormal to care about a pregnant wife?"

Yang Zhiyan really couldn't refute this.

The milk in the refrigerator was finished, so Aunt Li put a new case on the kitchen floor.

Yang Zhiyan walked over to prepare to unpack the box, and Qin Yuzheng followed from the living room, saying, "Let me do it."

He squatted down, opened the cardboard box, took out a carton of milk, and checked the production date and expiration date three times, then checked them three more times.

"You've practically memorized this carton of milk from looking at it so closely," Yang Zhiyan said from the side.

Qin Yuzheng ignored her and, after confirming that the date was correct, checked the packaging again for any damage.

Then he stood up, took the milk to warm it up, and said, "Wait a bit before you drink it; it's not good for your stomach if it's too cold."

Yang Zhiyan leaned against the kitchen door frame, watching him finish doing all of this.

As he turned to wash his hands, Yang Zhiyan suddenly asked, "So, will I need you to carry me even when I'm walking from now on?"

Qin Yuzheng turned to look at her; the tap was still running, and the water was gushing.

He answered without hesitation, "Sure. I'll hug you every day, whenever you want."

Yang Zhiyan was speechless, "...There's really no need for that."

In the three days following his return from the hospital, Qin Yuzheng took "overprotection" to the extreme.

Yang Zhiyan simply stood up to get a glass of water, and he had already walked over with the glass in his hand.

She went to the balcony to water her succulents, and he followed behind, taking the watering can from her. "I'll water them, you sit down."

She turned over in bed at night, and he immediately woke up beside her. "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Yang Zhiyan was both amused and exasperated by him, but she wasn't really annoyed.

She knew he was nervous.

On the fourth day, someone rang the doorbell. The deliveryman brought several large cardboard boxes, wrapped tightly in dark gray packaging paper.

When Qin Yuzheng signed for the package, he glanced at the sender's name and said, "My dad sent it."

Yang Zhiyan squatted down curiously to open the box, but Qin Yuzheng immediately squatted down and pulled her up, saying, "Don't squat, sit down and watch, I'll open it."

He squatted down and opened the cardboard boxes. The first box contained various nutritional supplements and tonics, including bird's nest, fish maw, and sea cucumber, all neatly arranged.

The second box contained various pregnancy supplies, including anti-radiation clothing, pregnancy pillows, and prenatal education headphones.

The third box contained a document and a letter. Qin Yuzheng opened the letter; Qin Guobing's handwriting was as strong and concise as ever, containing only a few lines: "Take good care of Yan Yan, don't let her get tired. Call me if anything happens."

Underneath the letter were a property ownership certificate and a bank card. The property ownership certificate bore Yang Zhiyan's name, and the PIN was affixed to the back of the bank card.

Yang Zhiyan looked at the property certificate and the card. Qin Yuzheng put the letter and the things away. "These are from Dad. Keep them safe."

Yang Zhiyan nodded and put the card and property certificate in the bedroom drawer.

She thought to herself, "The Qin family's way of giving gifts is so consistent: expensive items, few words, and no prior notice."

Shen Yu arrived in Haicheng without telling anyone in advance.

She called a car directly from the airport and only called Qin Yuzheng when she arrived at the Shengshi Tianxi building.

When Qin Yuzheng saw that the caller ID showed "Mom", his eyebrows twitched slightly.

"Mom," he answered, his tone impatient and eager to get to the point.

"I've arrived in Haicheng, I'm downstairs at your place. Is it convenient for me to come up?"

Shen Yu's voice carried an undeniable forcefulness.

But this advantage is practically nothing to Qin Yuzheng.

"Aren't you going to play with your son? What are you doing here?"

This immediately angered Shen Yu. "Aren't you my son?"

Qin Yuzheng said, "I didn't say that; you said it yourself."

Shen Yu said, "Anyway, I'm already downstairs, so I'm definitely going to go up."

Qin Yuzheng was silent for two seconds. "Come on up."

After entering the room, Shen Yu glanced around the living room and then her gaze settled on Yang Zhiyan.

Her gaze shifted from Yang Zhiyan's face to her stomach.

"I've come to see my daughter-in-law." The tone sounded quite harmonious and normal.

Yang Zhiyan stood up to pour her tea, but Shen Yu waved her hand, "Please sit down, don't bother."

She sat down on the sofa, took a dark blue velvet box out of her bag, placed it on the table, and pushed it in front of Yang Zhiyan.

"This is just a small token of my appreciation. Take good care of yourself and don't overexert yourself."

Yang Zhiyan opened the box, inside was a pair of jade earrings, with excellent clarity.

She paused for a moment, then said, "Thank you, Mom."

Shen Yu didn't linger; she finished her tea and stood up. "I have something to do, I'll be leaving now."

As she reached the door, she glanced at Qin Yuzheng, hesitated, and ultimately said nothing.

Qin Yuzheng stood at the door, watching her walk into the elevator. As the elevator doors closed, he turned and went back into the house.

Shen Yu sat in the car, looking at the street scene outside the window, holding her phone in her hand. On the screen was a message sent by Mo Yunyun's friend.

"I heard Ah Zheng's girlfriend is pregnant? Didn't his ex-wife always say things about him...? Could it be that the baby in her belly...?"

Shen Yu turned her phone over and placed it face down on her lap. Besides seeing Yang Zhiyan, she also wanted to confirm something else when she came to Haicheng.

But this time she was smarter and didn't ask directly. She knew that if she did, Qin Yuzheng would throw her out, since it was a matter of male dignity.

But she will look it up herself.
