The Nightmare Experience of a Useless Person
Chapter 61 Farewell
"Huh? What! You're going to drop out of school?" Liu Xuyan's eyes widened, her throat contorted with doubt, and she let out a strange growl. Her roommate, who had disappeared for several days, had returned with inexplicable bad news.
"Yes, I..." Jiang Zhiyang lowered his eyes and fidgeted with the hem of his clothes. His chaotic thoughts blocked his mind and also prevented him from speaking. "I have completed the formalities and will move out of the dormitory today."
"So urgent? What happened?" Liu Xuyan approached step by step with a concerned look, as if he wanted to corner Jiang Zhiyang and make him honestly tell the whole story.
But Jiang Zhiyang couldn't do that, so he could only apologize. For the first time ever, he took the initiative to get up and give his good brother a hug that he considered sentimental.
"I've encountered a major hurdle that's not easy to overcome. It's much tougher than any problem I've faced before. I need to muster ten times the confidence, ten times the courage, and ten times the decisiveness, and that might just exhaust all of my strength... I don't know if taking a break from school is the right choice, but I'm sure this predicament is only temporary."
The person in his arms was stunned for a moment, then finally calmed down. He punched Jiang Zhiyang hard on the back twice, making him cry out in pain.
"Okay, got it. You have to keep it up. If you need anything, whether it's material, emotional, or even a brother's fist, I'll lend it to you!"
"Me too!" The person who had been eavesdropping behind the bed curtains poked their head out.
"Okay! Duan Heng, you must eat well, sleep well, and study hard. If you have any troubles, be sure to talk to someone. You will definitely become the person you want to be."
"Hehe, what about me? Don't you have anything to say to me?" Liu Xuyan pretended to be jealous.
"You? You think I don't trust you? You're good at studying and handsome. You should be secretly happy."
Seeing Liu Xuyan's cheerful smile, Jiang Zhiyang felt relieved and turned to examine the bed and desk. In the past, he would remember exactly how much each item here cost, but now none of that mattered. He picked and chose, and in the end, he only took a few pieces of clothing.
With lingering attachment to the past and uncertainty about the future, Jiang Zhiyang got into the departing taxi. Looking at the bright scenery passing by the car window, he unconsciously fell into deep thought again.
The boy who once trapped himself in hardship and poverty was unexpectedly pulled into a grand fantasy journey. He not only met new companions and saw new scenery, but also fell into new circumstances and learned about a new world. He no longer guarded his small world. He became brave, optimistic, confident, and even wanted to seize the reins of fate and roam freely from then on.
His stories are interspersed with those of others: risking their lives to protect their families, sacrificing their personal interests for justice and fairness, breaking free from constraints for the sake of ideals and freedom, and shedding tears for complicated love... Everything seems so illusory, yet it brings him such real and rich feelings.
Most importantly, he met the person who made his heart flutter, Yu Qingjun, a name that is pure and gentle, a beautiful and lovely name.
Xue Lele, the goddess, and Xiao Chengyu are all part of Yu Qingjun. She is innocent and kind, with a heart full of love. She is like a high and mighty god who generously spreads her care to many people. She is also proud, loves to laugh, and likes sweets. She is like a lively little rabbit, which is very endearing.
"Young man, hello? Hello! Young man! We're here!" The driver's gruff voice interrupted Jiang Zhiyang's reverie. He paused for three seconds, then hastily thanked him.
This is a suburban villa surrounded by a circle of trees, where even the sunlight is diluted. A wisp of floral fragrance and a few birds chirping add to the tranquility.
This was purchased by Jiang Zhiyang using the huge sum of money Bai Chan had entrusted to him. After she left, the Dream Chaser Tavern collapsed along with her dream, and the quiet corner of the square returned to being an ordinary shop covered in cobwebs.
"Creak." The old door frame let out a hoarse sigh. Jiang Zhiyang pushed open the door, and the barefoot woman hurriedly bumped into his arms.
Yu Qingjun's icy arms wrapped tightly around Jiang Zhiyang's neck, pulling him to the ground. She was crying again.
Warm tears streamed down his skin and onto Jiang Zhiyang's neck, his heart-wrenching grief turning into silent sobs in her ear.
Ever since Yu Qingjun read the letter left by Bai Chan, her mental state has deteriorated. Sometimes she is in tears, sometimes she seems to have forgotten everything and laughs happily, and sometimes she is like now, remembering everything, suddenly realizing the truth, and feeling utterly pained.
Jiang Zhiyang also wanted to cry, but he couldn't. He raised his arm and gently patted Yu Qingjun's back again and again.
Once the person in his arms had calmed down a bit, Jiang Zhiyang picked her up, washed her feet, and changed her clothes. At that moment, she was like a quiet rag doll, clinging to Jiang Zhiyang and refusing to let go.
Yu Qingjun was like a child at the moment, and it took Jiang Zhiyang a long time to coax her before she was willing to lie down in bed.
He simply stood by the bedside, quietly watching Yu Qingjun fall asleep. When he got tired, he would lie down on the edge of the bed, listening to Yu Qingjun's even breathing and resting for a while. He did this from sunrise to sunset, and from sunset to every cold night.
Aside from handling important matters, Jiang Zhiyang couldn't leave for a moment, because she could wake up screaming from a nightmare at any time, just like now, with her long nails digging into Jiang Zhiyang's flesh and her sharp teeth biting into Jiang Zhiyang's shoulder. Only when the sweet and bloody blood mixed with saliva filled her mouth could she calm down a little.
He wanted to cry; a sour feeling welled up in his nose. Perhaps she had endured such torment every night, yet every time he saw her, she appeared so relaxed and at ease. He couldn't help but feel heartbroken and shed tears.
Fortunately, all the procedures at the school have been completed, and Jiang Zhiyang can finally stay by Yu Qingjun's side with peace of mind. Once she calms down and recovers, he can follow her into her dream. Perhaps, he can even meet Bai Chan again in Linmengyuan.
Soft sunlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains, casting a warm glow on the back of Jiang Zhiyang's hand. He beckoned with his finger, as if suddenly realizing something, and quickly got up to pull the curtains shut.
He turned his head, anxiously trying to check on Yu Qingjun's condition, but suddenly a pair of arms wrapped around his waist from behind. It was Yu Qingjun, her soft body pressed tightly against his back.
"You're awake." Jiang Zhiyang pulled her arm away, broke free from her embrace slightly, and turned around.
"Hmm." She raised her head, her clear eyes carefully examining Jiang Zhiyang. It seemed that Yu Qingjun had regained consciousness.
With a slight exertion of her arms, she switched places with Jiang Zhiyang. She advanced step by step, pulling Jiang Zhiyang back until he lay down on the soft bedding.
She looked down at him, then leaned close and planted deep kisses on each of the teeth marks on Jiang Zhiyang's shoulder. It was her apology, but then, damp tears fell onto the wounds, causing a slight stinging pain.
"Okay, don't cry, I'm fine. The sad days are almost over. Don't cry, don't cry." He gently comforted her until Yu Qingjun's soft lips sealed his lips.
She stuck out her tongue and sucked hard, her soft tongue tip constantly swirling around. Jiang Zhiyang didn't resist; he knew, he understood. He simply responded gently, telling her not to be afraid.
Jiang Zhiyang smiled gently and patted her head. He would accept everything about her, including this venting without any lust.
