One Piece: Starting with Sharingan, First Mate Uchiha

Chapter 468 Gas-Gas Fruit! Usopp's Determination

As night fell, the Sunny finally made it completely away from the waters of Wano Country.

A long table was set up on the deck, and Sanji prepared a large recovery meal.

The table was piled high with barbecue, fish soup, vegetable broth, desserts, and high-calorie foods specially prepared for the wounded.

Luffy sat in the main seat, his mouth stuffed with meat, and mumbled indistinctly:

"I forgot to tell Ace..."

"He should be sent back to Wano Country. Yamato and the others definitely want to see him too."

Victor sat between Nami and Robin, having drunk a little wine, and looked much more relaxed than during the day.

"He will go back."

Luffy immediately looked up.

"real?"

"The Whitebeard Pirates have already appeared in the waters outside Wano."

"If Ace wants to get in, there will always be a chance."

Luffy then grinned again and continued eating his meat.

Zoro leaned to the side, holding the sake jar he'd brought from Wano Country. He'd just taken a swig when Sanji immediately frowned and cursed:

"Hey, Green Algae Head, don't drink so much when your injury hasn't healed yet."

"It's annoying that no one will take care of you after you pass out drunk."

Zoro glanced at him sideways.

"I won't get so drunk that I'll need you to take care of me."

"Are you saying you could get lost while bleeding right now?"

"You lecherous cook, you want to fight?"

"The injured person should just drink the juice obediently!"

The two quickly started arguing again.

Nami sat at the table, yelling at them to be quiet, but seeing the ship return to its familiar noisy state, she visibly relaxed.

Robin, holding his wine glass, watched with a smile as everyone made a ruckus.

After experiencing the war in Wano Country, the naval blockade, Kizaru's pursuit, and Ace's rescue.

Tonight's dinner felt like a final confirmation for everyone—they were back on their own ship.

Amidst the commotion, Usopp, sitting at the end of the table, suddenly fell silent.

He didn't boast as usual, nor did he rush to talk about how brave he was during the naval blockade. He just looked down at the package in his arms, his fingers unconsciously tightening.

Chopper was the first to notice something was wrong.

"Usopp, why aren't you eating?"

"Don't you have a good appetite?"

Usopp looked up, his face unusually free of exaggerated expressions.

He took a deep breath and slowly opened the package in front of everyone.

Inside was a strangely shaped Devil Fruit with spiral patterns.

Gas fruit.

This is the fruit that Victor entrusted to Usopp for temporary safekeeping.

Originally, he was just to keep it for the time being, but no one had really decided what to do with it afterward.

The noise on the deck stopped abruptly when the fruit was seen.

Nami frowned.

"Usopp, what do you want to do?"

Usopp looked up, unusually not flinching.

"I'm going to eat it."

Everyone was stunned when those words were spoken.

Chopper jumped up in alarm.

"After eating a Devil Fruit, I can't swim anymore!"

"Usopp, are you really sure about this?"

"I've thought it through."

Usopp nodded.

His voice trembled slightly at first, but as he stood up and grasped the fruit, his eyes gradually hardened.

"I know I've always been afraid."

"From the East China Sea to the Grand Line, and then to the New World, the enemy is getting stronger and stronger."

"In the past, I could rely on traps, lies, luck, and sniping to help me."

As he said this, he tightened his fingertips slightly.

"But now, we're facing monsters like Kaido, Kizaru, and Blackbeard."

"Luffy is getting closer and closer to becoming the Pirate King. Victor, Zoro, and Sanji are getting stronger and stronger."

"Nami, Robin, Franky, Chopper, Brook... everyone is doing their part to support this ship."

Usopp lowered his voice.

"But sometimes I feel like I'm falling further and further behind."

No one spoke on the deck.

Even Luffy watched him quietly.

Usopp looked up at his companions at the table.

"I don't want to be able to stand at the back and shout 'Go everyone!' during the final leg of the journey."

"At least in the most important times, I want to... truly help you."

"I want to be able to stand tall and say when Luffy becomes the Pirate King—"

He gripped the gas cone tightly, and his voice finally stopped trembling.

"I am the sniper of the Straw Hat Pirates."

"I'm doing this for the ship too!"

"For everyone!"

"Fight to the very end for the Pirate King!"

This was not a spur-of-the-moment decision.

It wasn't that I was blinded by passion.

Usopp finally confronted his fears and shortcomings just before the final voyage approached.

Victor looked at him but did not stop him.

Nami wanted to say something, but she stopped herself in the end.

Usopp looked down at the fruit in his hand, his face still instinctively turning pale.

"For Luffy to become the Pirate King!"

"To become a brave warrior of the sea!"

He closed his eyes and took a big bite.

The next instant, Usopp's face contorted in pain.

He collapsed onto the deck, frantically clutching his throat, tears welling up in his eyes.

"Disgusting!"

"This tastes awful! What is this stuff?!"

The previously tense atmosphere was instantly broken.

Luffy slammed his fist on the table and burst into laughter.

"Hahahaha! This is exactly what I've been waiting for!"

Chopper rushed over to check on his body's reaction.

Sanji handed him a glass of juice.

"Rinse your mouth quickly."

Robin gently raised his glass, smiled, and said:

"That's amazing, Usopp!"

"At least you've taken the first step."

Viktor looked at Usopp rolling on the ground and a slight smile appeared on his lips.

The Gas-Gas Fruit, combined with Usopp's sniping skills, traps, ammunition, and plant stars, would be a truly terrifying combination.

If he can control his abilities, the Straw Hat Pirates will have a truly strategic-level sniper on the battlefield in the future.

After all, art is an explosion.

Usopp finally recovered from the terrifying smell and shakily stood up, supporting himself on the table.

He originally thought everyone would continue to have a serious discussion.

Suddenly, Luffy raised his arm.

"Let's have a banquet!"

"Celebrate Usopp!"

Chopper was the first to cheer.

Luffy rushed over and hugged Usopp's neck.

"From now on, you're King Gas Usopp!"

"This name is awful!"

Usopp immediately protested.

Franky shouted:

"That's the determination of a real man! Gas and sniper, a perfect match!"

As he spoke, he began to excitedly brainstorm ideas.

"Once you can control it, I can design gas bombs, smoke bombs, incendiary bombs, and paralyzing bombs for you!"

"Combined with your Plant Star, the tactics will be absolutely amazing!"

Nami immediately warned:

"Let's make this clear first: whoever blows up the ship during the experiment will have to pay compensation."

Usopp's newly risen sense of pride instantly diminished.

Robin smiled and raised his glass.

"Congratulations, Usopp."

Zoro also raised his glass, a rare occurrence for him.

"Just don't hurt yourself."

Usopp was stunned, and almost moved.

Zoro's next line was:

"If you die, there will be no one to tell jokes on the ship."

"Hello!"

The banquet became incredibly lively.

........

After a satisfying meal, the deck gradually quieted down.

Luffy fell asleep while eating, and Chopper dragged him aside and covered him with a blanket.

Usopp crouched in the corner, studying his new ability with a mixture of fear and excitement.

He tried to concentrate, and suddenly a faint wisp of gas appeared at his fingertips.

Chopper and Brook screamed at the same time.

"They're out!"

"Although I no longer have a heart that stops when I'm scared, yohohoho!"

Frankie became even more excited.

"Excellent! Once you have a stable grasp of the situation, we'll immediately begin developing new equipment!"

As Usopp watched the gas slowly dissipate from his fingertips, he suddenly realized that he truly possessed entirely new possibilities.

He is still afraid.

But this time, he has already taken a step forward.

As night deepened, Victor led Nami and Robin back to the cabin.

Nami's room is no longer just Nami's room.

Here are Nami's nautical chart, Robin's book, and the three of them's clothes in the corner.

Before they knew it, it had become a room shared by three people.

Viktor walked a little slower than usual because he had drunk quite a bit of alcohol at dinner.

Robin helped him up and pressed him onto the sofa.

Nami closed the door and glanced back at him.

"He dared to drink so much even though he hadn't fully recovered."

Victor leaned back on the sofa and said with a smile:

"Just celebrating Usopp getting stronger."

Nami snorted, but she wasn't really angry.

She walked to the bathroom door, removing her restraints as she continued speaking:

"However, Usopp really impressed me today."

Robin sat on the sofa and nodded gently.

"It's remarkable that someone who's afraid is willing to take a step forward."

Viktor looked at the two of them and said in a low voice:

"So he will become a brave sea warrior."

Nami didn't rush into the bathroom.

She casually tossed the clothes she had taken off onto the sofa, where they landed right on Viktor.

Viktor tilted his head, making no attempt to hide his admiration for her.

Nami noticed his gaze, raised an eyebrow, and asked:

"What are you looking at? Haven't you looked at each other enough after being together for so long?"

Victor laughed:

"certainly."

"I can never get enough of looking at my navigators."

Nami blushed slightly, but deliberately threw another piece of clothing at his face.

Stop being so cheeky.

Robin watched this scene with a smile.

Nami walked into the bathroom, her voice coming from the steam:

"Robin, come take a bath."

Robin responded and was about to get up.

But as soon as she stood up, Viktor gently grabbed her wrist.

The next moment, she fell into his arms.

Robin was not alarmed; she simply looked down at him with a faint smile on her lips.

"First mate, aren't you drunk?"

Viktor moved closer to her, his voice lowering.

"I'm not so drunk that I can't see you clearly."

He kissed Robin.

It started as a light touch, but the kiss gradually deepened.

Robin leaned on his shoulder, letting him hold her close.

The room was softly lit, and the waves gently lapped against the hull of the ship outside the window.

Just as Victor's hand reached her waist, Robin gently slapped it away.

A smile played in her eyes as she spoke softly:

"Okay, wait until you've finished showering."

Nami's voice came from the bathroom.

"Robin?"

Before Robin could respond, Victor had already picked her up.

She raised an eyebrow slightly, but did not struggle.

Viktor said with a smile:

"It feels like it's been a long time since we've been together."

Robin smiled helplessly and sighed.

"You really aren't drunk."

The bathroom door was pushed open, and warm steam rushed out.

Nami's voice was initially filled with dissatisfaction, but then turned into a low, reproachful tone.

Robin's soft laughter mingled with the sound of water.

Victor's coat was carelessly tossed aside by the door.

Outside the window, the Sunny sailed smoothly through the night.

The room's lights were blurred by the steam, and the light and shadows filtering through the bathroom door overlapped and separated.

Nami muttered under her breath, "This won't do," but her words were quickly drowned out by Robin's gentle laughter.

Then, only the sounds of water, whispers, and the gentle bobbing of the boat with the waves remained.
