The first night is finally over.

Yin Leyao was somewhat mentally exhausted, waking up frequently at night, which definitely affected her mental state.

She rubbed her forehead and temples, but fortunately, her constitution was quite strong, with a full 10 points, so she wasn't afraid of getting sick because of it.

The flamingo had been awake for a while, and now it came back from outside with a string of berries in its beak. It ate a few but wanted more.

Yin Leyao snatched it away: "So you're going to eat it all by yourself, huh?"

She took a bite after getting it; it was sweet and sour, a bit like a kiwi, but harder.

After finishing breakfast, she still had to go out to search.

The molten bird remained in the cave to guard it.

"Don't you dare steal anything. If anything is missing when I come back, I'll beat you to death."

Yin Leyao gestured at it a few times, giving it a warning look.

The silly bird is squawking loudly; I don't know if it understands me.

Yin Leyao wouldn't let it sit idle either, pointing to the dry branches on the ground and saying, "If you're bored, go pick up these branches."

The silly bird ran away.

Yin Leyao went outside, where it was a freezing cold day with a biting wind.

She looked back at the hole she had covered with leaves; the location was still too conspicuous, and it would be discovered sooner or later.

Just then, the number of players currently surviving on the island appeared in the top left corner.

There are 8 players left.

Yesterday, the management group said that seven people had died, so there should have been around 20 players on the island initially?

You can still chat in the nearby channels, but there was no activity all day yesterday, so everyone was still being cautious.

Listen to me: "Hi everyone, I've found a bread tree in this bay area. Anyone want to explore it together?"

Eleventh Sister: "Why don't you keep it all to yourself? Tell us you're not afraid we'll all fight you for it."

Listen to me: "That's because I have the ability to protect myself in the end. I'm not afraid of anyone trying to take it from me."

Fengfengfeng: "How do we know if that's a trap? What if you're just trying to ambush us by tricking us into going there?"

Listen to me: "I'm just saying, come or don't come if you want, why do you all think so badly of people?"

On the other side of the bay, a man forcefully stabbed another man in the chest with a sharpened twig, twisting it several times until the man died.

He casually tossed the body into a nearby bread tree.

Soon, several hard-shelled breadfruits fell to the ground.

He smashed it open with a stone and found a soft, squishy panel inside.

"These people are really hard to fool."

...

Yin Leyao ignored that side and didn't trust anyone else.

She took the dagger and planned to find a tree with good resilience. She could use the blueprints to make simple tools, starting with a bow and arrow.

Both melee and ranged combat are included.

However, as she walked, she discovered that most of the road ahead was covered by snow, and no one knew whether there were any traps hidden in the thick snow.

Management group.

Mackerel: "Yin Leyao has walked into the trap zone. There are animal traps all under that snow layer."

Saury: "I arranged this all night, but Qinghua promised extra money!"

Mackerel: "I'll give it to you next time."

Pacific saury: "Damn it, how many times have you said 'next time'?!"

Stinky Octopus: "You guys have a fight, and whoever wins inherits everything."

Yin Leyao pulled her foot back, looked around, and picked up a thick stick: "If the snow is too thick, I'll step into a pit and be done for."

She used a stick to probe ahead.

With a snap, the stick broke, and a rusty animal trap popped out.

Yin Leyao was startled: "This...it scared me to death! Luckily, I'm smart and cautious."

She planned to collect the animal traps, as she needed them outside her cave.

Yin Leyao picked up the animal trap and wiped off the rust with snow.

The clamp teeth were still sharp enough, and the spring wasn't completely rusted. She put the clamp back into the bucket and continued to probe the way with the stick.

After walking forward for about ten meters, another one was triggered.

This time the stick didn't break, it was just caught in the clamp. She removed the clamp and put it away safely.

Two animal traps were placed on either side of the cave.

After passing the trap zone, she found a mixed forest.

The trees are not tall, and they are bent crooked by the sea breeze, but the wood is solid.

She picked a straight branch about the thickness of a thumb, chopped it down with a dagger, and peeled off the side branches and bark.

The branch was quite resilient; it didn't break even after being bent.

She found a few more thin branches and sharpened one end to make arrow shafts.

Without feathers for the arrow fletching, we'll have to make do for now.

She took out a small roll of fishing line from her pocket; it was the one she had casually wrapped around her wrist when she used the "Wish Fulfilled" fishing rod.

It took about an hour to finish all of this.

She slung the bow over her shoulder and tied the arrows with strips of cloth, then put them in the bucket.

It feels okay to use, and the range isn't very long, but it's sufficient for close-range combat.

She decided to go to the beach.

Things are usually left on the beach after the tide goes out; the bucket I found yesterday was picked up from the beach.

When she reached the foot of the mountain, she slowed her pace.

There's smoke coming from the direction of the beach; it's not from a wildfire, but from a fire started by someone. Some people have already set up camp on the beach.

Yin Leyao circled around to the back of the reef pile and used the reef as cover to approach the beach.

The smoke was rising from the east side of the beach, hundreds of meters away from her.

There was no one on the west side, so she crouched down and walked to the west side of the beach, looking down at the ground.

Near the tide line, there were scattered seashells and seaweed, as well as something half-buried in the sand.

She walked over and kicked away the sand; it was a flashlight.

Plastic casing, button type.

She picked it up and pushed the switch, but it didn't light up.

Unscrew the cover; there are no batteries inside.

She threw the flashlight into the bucket; even without batteries, it could still be used.

After walking a few steps forward, a corner of something emerged from the sand.

She crouched down and dug; it was a laminated blueprint.

[Raft Construction Blueprints]

The blueprints show the structure of the raft, and the materials needed are listed next to it: twelve logs, some vines, and a piece of canvas.

She folded the blueprints and carefully kept them close to her body.

She continued walking along the tide line, picking up seven or eight small fish and a handful of shrimp that had been washed ashore by the waves.

The fish weren't big, but enough for one meal.

Just as we were about to leave, a head popped out from behind the reef.

She was a female player, her face red from the cold, and she was wearing an ill-fitting cotton coat.

When she saw Yin Leyao, her eyes widened, her mouth opened as if she wanted to shout something but she didn't, and she turned and ran away.

He was running too fast and tripped on the sand, but he got up and kept running without looking back.

Yin Leyao did not pursue him.

She glanced at the direction the female player had run; it was the east side of the beach, the side with the smoke.

There's at least one person over there.

She didn't linger and returned to the cave the way she came.

Back in the cave, the firebird had returned, and there was a pile of dry branches on the ground, more than Yin Leyao had collected yesterday.

The silly bird perched beside the pile of branches, preening its feathers with its beak. When it saw Yin Leyao come in, it chirped, walked to the pile of branches, and spread its wings in a showy gesture.

"Not bad." Yin Leyao put the bucket down and took out two small fish from it, tossing them to the bucket.

The flamingo swallowed the shrimp one after another, then stared at the shrimp in the bucket.

"That's all, we'll grill the rest."

Yin Leyao started a fire and skewered the remaining fish and shrimp on sharpened branches, then placed them near the fire to roast.

She took the raft blueprint out of her pocket and examined it closely.

Twelve logs.

The island's mixed forest has suitable trees, but it will take time to cut down twelve.

Vines can be found in the forest.

The canvas is a bit of a hassle; all I have right now is that palm-sized rag.

After reviewing the blueprints, she put them away and began to rearrange the cave.

She buried two animal traps outside the hole and covered them with a thin layer of soil and leaves.

She stuck a small twig in the ground next to the clip as a marker so she wouldn't step on it when she came back.

A row of stones was piled up inside the cave entrance; they weren't meant to block people, but rather to trip them up.

If someone sneaks in while she's not around, they'll trip over a stone while stepping over a coconut leaf and fall forward, landing right in the animal trap.

She placed the bow and arrows next to where she was sleeping, and tucked the dagger into her waistband.

The fish is cooked.

Yin Leyao gave half to the Flame Bird and ate the other half herself.

The shrimp shells were roasted until crispy, then chewed up and swallowed.

After eating, she leaned against the cave wall and closed her eyes to rest.

The flamingo lay down next to her legs; its body temperature was higher than hers, like a small heater.

She woke up after sleeping for about half an hour.

My energy has improved a lot, and my headache is gone.

She stood up, inspected the layout of the opening, and then went out again.

The goal this time is to collect materials for a raft.

The logs are in the mixed forest, but she needs to find the vines first.

Vines usually grow in damp places; there should be some on the rocks on the east side of the foot of the mountain.

She took a dagger and a bow and arrow and walked down the mountainside.

As she passed a withered tree, she heard a heavy, panting sound.

not human.

She stopped, slowly took the bow off her shoulder, and nocked an arrow.

The bushes rustled, and an animal emerged.

It is smaller than a wild boar, with black fur, a long and pointed snout, and two tusks sticking out from the corners of its mouth.

I don't know if it's a variant of wild boar or something unique to the island.

It lowered its head and nudged the ground with its nose. After a few nuds, it raised its head, its small eyes saw Yin Leyao, and then it stopped moving.

Yin Leyao drew her bow.

I didn't expect to kill him with one arrow; I just wanted to make him hurt and buy myself some time.

The animal let out a sharp cry and charged over.

It was faster than I expected.

Yin Leyao released the arrow.

An arrow pierced its foreleg, and it flinched in pain, but instead of stopping, it became even more ferocious.

Yin Leyao dodged to the side, and the animal's fangs grazed the outside of her thigh, tearing a hole in her clothes.

She drew her dagger as she turned around.

The animal stopped in its tracks, turned around, and charged again.

This time the distance was too close, so Yin Leyao didn't dodge. Instead, she crouched down and plunged the dagger into its neck from below.

The force of the animal's charge knocked her to the ground, and she nearly dropped the dagger.

She gripped the knife handle with both hands and slashed it forcefully to the side.

Blood spurted out, splattering all over her face.

The animal struggled a few times, kicked its legs, and then stopped moving.

Yin Leyao got up from the ground and wiped the blood off her face.

There was no injury on the outside of my thigh; my clothes were torn, but my pants weren't.

She looked at the animal carcass on the ground; it wasn't small, weighing at least forty pounds.

There's enough meat to eat for several days, and the skin can be used to make mats.

She grabbed the animal's hind legs and dragged it back.

Going down the mountain is easy, but going up is difficult, and dragging forty pounds of prey along the mountain path is even more strenuous.

She would stop and switch hands every so often.

It was an hour later when we arrived at the cave.

Hearing the noise, the flamingo poked its head out of the cave and saw Yin Leyao dragging a black thing around. Excitedly, it rushed out and jumped around its prey.

"Stop jumping, help me block the entrance." Yin Leyao dragged her prey into the hole.

She placed the animal carcass in a corner and began to process it with a dagger.

The fur was peeled off and laid out to dry on stones. The meat was cut into strips, some of which were roasted over a fire to make jerky, and some were cured with salt.

The salt was dried in the rocky pit yesterday; there wasn't much, but it was enough.

The mollusk received its internal organs and a whole leg, and ate happily.

Yin Leyao sat by the fire, turning over the dried meat while reviewing the raft blueprints on her lap.

Twelve logs. Vines. Canvas.

We'll start cutting down trees tomorrow.

By daybreak, only ashes remained of the fire.

Yin Leyao added the last few dry branches, blew on them a few times, and the sparks started flying again.

She grilled two pieces of meat that she had marinated the night before and shared them with the flamingo.

The meat wasn't marinated thoroughly enough; the saltiness was only on the surface, while the inside remained bland.

After eating, she checked the supplies stored in the cave.

The dried meat hangs in a row; it should last about four days. There's only half a handful of berries left; we need to find some new ones today.

We finished eating the crabs and conch yesterday.

The water level in the puddle dropped a bit, but the dripping water from the cracks in the rocks didn't stop.

She tucked the dagger into her waistband, slung the bow over her shoulder, and prepared to go out and chop down trees.

Moltres remained on duty as usual.

She paused when she reached the cave entrance.

The bear trap remains in place and has not been triggered.

There was a new set of footprints on the ground near the cave entrance; they weren't hers.

The footprints came from the left, stopped about two meters outside the cave entrance, and then turned back along the same path.

Someone has been here.

There was no bear trap triggered, nor were any coconut leaves lifted.

I just stood outside, looked around, and then left.

Yin Leyao squatted down to examine the footprints.

The sole pattern was wavy, completely different from her own.

Judging by the size, it's a man's foot.

The footprints were very shallow, indicating that the person had deliberately walked lightly. Moreover, she hadn't noticed them last night. She should never sleep too soundly at night again.

She adjusted the position of the animal trap, shifting it half a step to the left.

If someone comes a second time and follows the same route, they will step on it this time.

She straightened up and walked towards the mixed woods.

The mixed forest is located at the foot of the mountain on the north side, about a fifteen-minute walk from the cave.

She came here yesterday when she was cutting down the tree trunks, so she remembers where the tree is.

The logs suitable for making rafts should not be too thick, as one person cannot move them, nor should they be too thin, as they will not provide enough buoyancy.

The ideal size is from wrist to calf.

She chose the first tree and chopped it down with a dagger.

The dagger was too short, making it difficult to chop down the tree. It took her more than ten minutes to chop down half of it. She stopped, shook her aching wrists, and continued chopping.

The tree fell and hit the bushes next to it, making a rustling sound.

The second one, the third one.

By noon, she had cut down five trees and dragged them all to a clearing in the woods, piling them up together.

She developed blisters on her hands, popped them with a dagger, and tore off a strip of cloth to wrap around her palm.

It hurt, but she could only bear it. She wondered if she could really leave safely when the time came. However, with the management group around, her chances of survival were definitely higher than theirs.

She opened the management group while resting on a tree trunk.

Mackerel: "There are six players left on the island. Two more died last night."
