Chapter 47 Thor's Challenge: Alchemy Nobody Learns!

Thor's exasperated yet helpless appearance pleased the Ancient One greatly.

She gently shook the folding fan in her hand and pointed to Lin Jie standing at the door. "His name is Lin Jie. In terms of when he joined the sect, he is your senior brother. Currently, he is also my personal disciple."

Personal disciple.

Upon hearing these four words, both Thor and Lin Jie were stunned.

Lin Jie was completely confused: When did I become a personal disciple?

And Thor has become my junior brother?

Thor was absolutely furious!

"Junior brother?! Impossible! I, the prince of Asgard, am the boss wherever I go! Why should I be someone's junior brother in this bandit's den!"

Thor struggled to sit up, but the excruciating pain from his wounds forced him back down.

He could only lie on the bed, roaring defiantly, "I'll let you stay here to gain experience, but I have to be the biggest!"

"Rules are rules." Gu Yi wasn't buying it. "You joined the sect the latest, so naturally you're the youngest junior brother."

Thor whirled around, staring intently at Lin Jie, his eyes filled with disdain: "Him? I could crush him with a single finger! In Asgard, strength always reigns supreme! Whoever has the strongest fist is the boss!"

As he spoke, Thor even bent his arm with great effort to show off his thick biceps.

Modu watched from the side, shaking his head.

This big oaf is really all brawn and no brains.

In terms of strength, Lin Jie can smash the strongest magic shield to pieces with one punch. Do you think your few muscles are enough to stand up to him?

"Once you've recovered, you can try it out in real combat training."

Gu Yi was too lazy to argue with him. She left those words behind, fanning herself with her folding fan, and walked out of the guest room.

Master Wang quickly followed him out.

Lin Jie was about to leave when Thor called him back.

"Hey! You mortal named Lin Jie!"

Lin Jie stopped and looked back at Thor, who was lying on the bed, his brows furrowing slightly.

mortal?

That title sounds really jarring.

"Dare to fight me?!" Thor glared fiercely at Lin Jie, his eyes burning with fighting spirit. "Whoever wins becomes the senior brother!"

Upon hearing the word "fight," Modu, who was standing to the side, shuddered and instinctively took two steps back.

He hadn't forgotten the painful experience of being hit by a coin from Lin Jie, which almost made him vomit blood.

Looking at Thor's arrogant and ignorant attitude, Lin Jie retorted, "Are you issuing a challenge to me?"

"Of course!" Thor answered without hesitation, his spirit undiminished despite the pain.

"Okay. Once you're healed, I'll be there for you." Lin Jie agreed readily.

Anyway, I was already worried about not finding a suitable sparring partner in Kamar-Taj, so having a tough god as a punching bag was exactly what I wanted.

Seeing that Lin Jie had agreed, Thor gave a satisfied hum.

Just as Lin Jie was about to turn and leave, Thor suddenly remembered something and asked through gritted teeth, "Hey kid, do you know who did this to my ass?"

Lin Jie paused in his steps.

Thor began to analyze the situation to himself: "My hammer, Mjolnir, wouldn't explode for no reason! Besides feeling like I was blown away, I also felt a piercing pain! Someone must have used some sharp weapon to pierce my hammer and then stuck it in my butt!"

At this point, Thor's eyes were practically spitting fire: "If I ever find out which bastard did it, I'll skin him alive!"

Lin Jie looked at the enraged Thor, swallowed hard, and pointed to the gleaming golden spear in his hand.

"Do you think... the tip of this eternal spear in my hand could fit perfectly into the wound on your buttocks?"

After saying that, Lin Jie slipped out of the guest room without looking back and closed the door behind him.

Saul lay frozen on the bed, staring at the closed door, his mind blank for a moment.

He turned to look at Mordo, his face full of confusion: "What does he mean by that?"

Modu sighed helplessly, his eyes filled with sympathy.

How has this big, dumb guy with such low intelligence survived until now?

"It doesn't mean anything. Just focus on recovering."

Modu didn't bother to explain and turned to leave the guest room.

"What a weirdo!" Thor cursed at Mordo's retreating figure, muttering, "With his skinny arms and legs, I could punch him so hard he'd be begging for his mother!"

……

late at night.

Kamar-Taj Library.

Master Wang was wearing headphones, listening to Beyoncé's songs while flipping through ancient books.

Hearing the door open, Master Wang took off his headphones and was somewhat surprised to see that it was Lin Jie who had come in.

"It's so late, why aren't you going to sleep? Did you come to borrow a book?" Master Wang asked.

"Hmm." Lin Jie nodded. "I'd like to find some information about spatial magic to look at."

Just then, a man dressed in a dark mage's robe emerged from deep within the bookshelf.

Lin Jie recognized him; he was Lucian, the temple's guardian monk.

"My king, I wish to borrow these books." Lucian walked to the table and placed several heavy ancient books on it.

Master Wang glanced at the books, and his originally kind expression instantly darkened.

Instead of helping with the registration, he sternly warned, "Lucian, I must remind you, there are some forbidden areas you absolutely must not touch!"

Upon hearing the stern warning from the monk Wang, Lucian stopped in his tracks.

He slowly turned around, a flawless smile on his face, and respectfully bowed to Master Wang: "Thank you for the reminder, Great Master. I will always remember your teachings."

After saying that, Lucian turned to look at Lin Jie, smiled with a deep look in his eyes, and said, "Junior brother, study hard."

With those words, Lucian, clutching the thick ancient books, walked out of the library without looking back.

Watching Lucian's figure disappear at the end of the corridor, Lin Jie felt a chill rise in his heart for no reason.

It's hard to describe the feeling, but this middle-aged mage named Lucian exudes a chilling aura that makes people extremely uncomfortable.

What book would you like to borrow?

Master Wang's voice interrupted Lin Jie's thoughts.

He took off his headphones and casually tidied up the books on the table: "Never mind him. Your task now is to solidify your foundation. You two are on different paths."

Lin Jie snapped out of his daze and quickly nodded in agreement, then explained his purpose: "Master Wang, I would like to borrow a few books about alchemy."

"Alchemy?" Master Wang was taken aback, his face full of surprise. "What do you need this for?"

"I want to forge a magical artifact myself," Lin Jie confessed truthfully. "This afternoon, Senior Brother Carter mentioned to me that you need to know alchemy to forge a magical artifact."

Master Wang was even more puzzled, looking Lin Jie up and down: "Crafting magical artifacts? Don't you already have an Eternal Spear?"

You already have Odin's exclusive artifacts, and you're still not satisfied? What do you want to create yourself?

"Uh... that gun is too long, it's really inconvenient to carry around." Lin Jie pouted. "I want to make a more handy little gadget that will be easier to take out when I go out."

Upon hearing this, Master Wang's lips twitched violently.

Do you find the Spear of Eternity inconvenient to carry?

If this gets back to Asgard, Odin would probably be so angry he'd rise from the dead on the spot!

"Alright then." Looking at Lin Jie's serious expression, Master Wang sighed helplessly. "I guess Carter didn't explain it clearly to you either. In Kamar-Taj, alchemy is a very rare spell. Out of hundreds of mages, you can count the number who know it on one hand."

"So unpopular?" Lin Jie asked, somewhat puzzled.

Being able to craft top-tier equipment yourself is an absolute must-have skill for casual gamers!

Why is no one learning it?
