Are you kidding me?! The boss of the Hell Dungeon is a loli!
Chapter 44 Cat and Mouse Game
Dracula hangs upside down from a broken crystal chandelier, his dark red cloak drooping like the wings of a giant bat.
His crimson eyes swept across the hall, finally settling on the blood-red lord kneeling on one knee.
"A bunch of useless trash." Dracula's voice boomed in everyone's ears. "I told you to treat our guests well, and this is how you treat them?"
The Crimson Lord buried his head deep in his chest, not daring to utter a single word of explanation.
The Blood Knight behind him trembled like a sieve.
Dracula cursed inwardly.
He originally intended to use Jiang Luo to deal with these arrogant human players and, incidentally, find out more about this white-haired girl.
As a result, these good-for-nothings all ran right into Jiang Luo's line of fire and became a laughing stock.
He landed lightly in front of the head seat at the long table, his leather shoes making no sound on the carpet.
An eerie, SS-level aura poured forth.
The air in the hall became as heavy as lead.
Xuanwu groaned as his knee slammed into the ground, creating two deep craters.
He tried desperately to sit up, but his back was pressed down by an invisible force.
The gold-rimmed glasses on the dragon's nose bridge cracked, revealing fine spiderweb patterns.
He clutched his chest, gasping for breath; standing up straight was now a distant dream.
Baihu was in the worst condition. The heavy chainsaw slipped from his hand and smashed in front of his toes, making his legs numb. He was lying on the table, unable to move.
Jiang Luo sat in a chair, swinging her short legs clad in white stockings, and crunching on a lollipop.
(눈‸눈)
Not right.
Something's really wrong.
Jiang Luo's rosy cheeks puffed out, and her ruby-like eyes darted around.
The old bat's strength was definitely at the peak of SS rank.
Even if those old men from the Human Federation brought over the S-rank item, the Dawn Grail, this level of pressure would be nothing more than a broken cup filled with water, and it would be impossible for it to exert any real pressure on Dracula.
If these players can't even beat Dracula with a single finger, then wasn't Dracula's previous request for help from Red Moon Castle, saying he was afraid of being wiped out by human players, just bullshit?
What was Old Deng's motive in luring the elite of humanity into the castle and then dragging himself into the mess?
As Jiang Luo bit into the last piece of candy, a flash of inspiration struck her.
She seemed to understand.
Dracula waved his hand.
The Crimson Lord felt as if he had been granted a pardon and quickly led the Blood Knights into the secret door, not even having time to clean up the black blood on the ground.
The headless butler pushed a brand-new food cart over and respectfully handed over a crystal goblet filled with scarlet liquid.
Dracula took the glass and swirled it twice, leaving the bright red liquid clinging to the glass.
"Esteemed guests who have traveled from afar, the breakfast we just had was merely an appetizer." Dracula took a sip of his blood wine, an elegant smile appearing on his pale face. "The wait has been too tedious; how about we play a game of cat and mouse?"
Xuanwu gritted his teeth and raised his head, his eyes bloodshot.
"Old monster, what exactly do you want? Just kill me, don't try these tricks!"
Dracula raised a pale finger to his lips, making a shushing gesture.
"Shh, let me finish explaining the rules of the game." Dracula walked to the center of the long table, looking down at the players slumped over it. "The rules are simple. Of everyone here, I will randomly select one person to be the cat, and the rest of you will be mice. The cat must kill all the mice within twenty-four hours in order to leave the castle alive."
The hall was so quiet that only heavy breathing could be heard.
Qinglong wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and asked in a hoarse voice.
"What about the rats? How do rats survive?"
"A mouse has two ways to survive," Dracula laughed heartily. "First, survive a day while being chased by a cat; second, kill the cat!"
These words caused an uproar among the players.
"Bullshit! You're clearly trying to make us kill each other!" Xuanwu roared, the veins on the back of his hand bulging.
This rule is too vicious.
If the cat is part of their team, then in order to survive, they must kill their own teammates.
Dracula completely ignored Xuanwu's anger.
He held his wine glass, his pale fingers casually tapping the air a few times, passing over the Black Tortoise, the Azure Dragon, and the White Tiger.
The last finger pointed directly at Jiang Luo, who was sitting in the corner hugging a tattered teddy bear.
"This adorable little kitten is your hunter," Dracula's voice echoed through the hall.
Jiang Luo: "???"
Dead bat!
So you're not going to act anymore, huh?
Lolo painstakingly cultivated the persona of a pitiful little girl among the players.
You ruined everything by making me a "cat"!
(╬ ̄Dish ̄)
The tattered bear in Jiang Luo's hand fell to the ground.
Her eyes were red-rimmed, and tears welled up in her ruby-like eyes. Her small hands tightly gripped the hem of Hongye's dress.
(╥﹏╥)
"Sister Hongye, Luo Luo doesn't want to be a cat. Luo Luo doesn't want to play this game. Luo Luo is scared."
Her soft, tearful voice broke everyone's heart.
But Jiang Luo had already cursed Dracula's ancestors a hundred times over in his heart.
(╬◣д◢)
Jiang Luo finally saw through Dracula's conspiracy.
This old bat didn't take these human players seriously at all; his only target from beginning to end was himself!
He knew that Red Moon Castle was not to be trifled with, and he also knew that Jiang Luo's strength was unfathomable, so he deliberately set up this trap.
By playing a cat-and-mouse game, they pushed Jiang Luo to the opposite side of all the players, using these elite humans to wear down Jiang Luo's stamina and force him to reveal his trump card.
Once Jiang Luo and the players have fought to the death, this cunning old fox will jump out and reap the benefits. He can not only drain the players dry, but also devour himself and take over Red Moon Castle!
He's got a good plan!
Do you really think I'm some pushover you can just bully?
Jiang Luo buried her face in Hongye's arms, her lowered eyes swirling with a violent red light.
If you want to play, this lord will play with you to the very end, and see who gets completely devoured in the end!
Unlike Jiang Luo's anger, the players' side experienced an emotional rollercoaster.
When they first heard about the cat-and-mouse game, everyone thought they were doomed.
But when they followed Dracula's finger and saw that the so-called cat was just a little white-haired girl who was less than 1.6 meters tall and could barely walk, the atmosphere of despair vanished.
White Tiger slapped his thigh hard, picked up the heavy chainsaw from the ground, and grinned wildly.
"Hahaha! I thought it would be so difficult! Turns out the cat's just a little brat who hasn't been weaned yet! This is a sure thing!"
Qinglong pushed up his shattered glasses, revealing a calculating look behind the lenses.
"We're lucky. This little girl is an ordinary person who got caught up in this by accident. She has no connection with us and is completely defenseless. If we kill her now, we'll win this game."
Several new players echoed this sentiment, their faces showing relief at surviving the ordeal.
"Yeah, yeah, killing a little girl is better than facing an SS-class monster!"
"This is a perk we get for clearing the game!"
Hongye listened to her teammates' discussion and her face turned pale.
She spread her arms to protect Jiang Luo, glaring angrily at the white tiger and the green dragon.
"Are you all insane! She's just an innocent child! How could you kill a child!"
White Tiger took a step forward, carrying the chainsaw, his face contorted with fat.
"Stop pretending to be a saint! She's a cat now! If she doesn't die, we all die! Do you want to drag everyone down with her?!"
"But she has no ability to kill us! We can choose the first method. As long as we hide for a day, no one will die!" Hongye retorted loudly.
Qinglong snorted coldly, his tone full of sarcasm.
"Are you crazy? If a cat doesn't kill all the mice in a day, it will still die eventually. And do you think we can hide safely for 24 hours? What if Dracula sabotages us from the shadows? Killing her is the fastest and safest way to pass the level."
Hongye turned to look at Xuanwu, who had remained silent, her eyes filled with pleading.
"Captain, say something! We are the elite of the Human Federation. Our duty is to protect ordinary people. How can we kill a child just to save our own lives!"
Xuanwu avoided Hongye's gaze.
He looked at the spectral shield in his hand, his voice hoarse.
"Red Leaf, move aside. White Tiger is right. When it comes to survival, we have no choice."
