I opened a clinic in the Abyss World
Chapter 419 I will definitely come and marry you!
The adventurers in charge of purchasing were discussing in hushed tones, with many of them harboring the idea of hoarding goods, buying tens of thousands of copper coins at a time.
This made the adventurers at the back of the line a little nervous, fearing that the people in front of them would buy up all the potions.
Fortunately, although the counter didn't look big, it had a lot of medicine in stock. No matter how much people bought, the supply was always sufficient.
Kasha was in charge of selling the potions, and Ino and Eunice were helping her. One was responsible for getting the potions, and the other was responsible for collecting money and giving change. They were extremely busy.
……
"Still not back? Where did Charlotte go?"
In Kalvar, at the city lord's mansion, Anderson frowned deeply.
"Lord, I have asked many people, including the Harriman family, but no one knows where Charlotte has gone," the knight said respectfully.
"Could he be deliberately avoiding me? But Benjamin told me to go find him." Anderson's brows furrowed even deeper.
"Lord, a letter from the Elf City." At that moment, a guard entered the room carrying a bamboo tube.
"Give it to me." Anderson beckoned, took the bamboo tube, opened it, unfolded the letter, and read it. He sighed again, "We've searched everywhere for him, but he's in the Elf City."
"Lord, are you going to the Elf City to find him?"
Anderson shook his head: "No need. He will be back tomorrow. Go to the Abyss again tomorrow and ask him to come to Kalva to see me."
"Yes." The knight left respectfully.
Anderson muttered to himself, "What exactly is the relationship between Charlotte and Benjamin? When did they become so close? I never heard of Nolan and Lynn having any connection with Benjamin back then..."
……
"Heidi, your book 'Daily Life at the Abyss Medical Clinic' is selling like hotcakes! I've already had them reprint a hundred copies, and even though it's black and white, it's selling very well!" The bald boss walked into the study with an excited look on his face and said to Heidi, who was leaning against the window in a daze.
"Really?" Heidi's eyes lit up when she heard this, and she turned around and said, "Father, are the daily remedies selling so well? There aren't many colored ones in them this time."
"Yes, that's why I dared to put them up for sale on the street." The shopkeeper nodded with a smile. "The ten illustrated books sold out yesterday, and the price was even higher than the ones sold by the perverts before. The first batch of fifty black and white books that were reprinted also sold out today. The old perverts are buying less, but girls are buying more. Most of them were bought by young girls."
"Wow, does that mean I've successfully transformed myself? I've gone from a master of erotic comics to a master of shoujo manga in one go!" Heidi jumped up happily, her face beaming with excitement.
"That's right, that's right." The boss nodded excitedly, but quickly added, "However, some old perverts are asking when we'll continue our lewd ways."
"Tell them, I'm taking an indefinite break from updating!" Heidi waved her hand, full of determination, and said, "Unless I'm starving to death, I will absolutely not continue this nonsense."
"Should we only sell 'Daily Life at the Abyss Medical Clinic' for two days, or keep selling it? Should we avoid selling it to Dr. Charlotte?" the shopkeeper asked again.
[At this point, I hope readers will remember our domain name: 101 Reading Network. Super thoughtful service! 101m.m.com is waiting for you!]
"Anyway, I didn't scribble anything. We'll just put it up at the entrance and sell it every day. When it's sold out, we'll just restock."
"Okay, I'll do as you say." The boss nodded, then thought for a moment and said, "I'll go to Calva in a few days and ask around. I heard that Eisenburg has figured out the color printing technology, and many people are willing to pay extra for the color version. If we can get a color printing machine, we can make a lot more money."
"This is good. Let me draw the color version. I'm tired of coloring."
The father and daughter exchanged a glance and both burst into smug laughter.
……
"Miss Diana, everything is almost ready at the garment factory. Look, the raw material warehouse is full, and the employee training is complete. We're just waiting for Dr. Charlotte to return for the opening ceremony."
Ivan took Diana on a tour of the garment factory. The workshops were neatly arranged, the assembly lines were well-designed, and the equipment was all ready to be put into operation at any time.
"He should be back soon. He can't just abandon his home, can he?" Diana nodded repeatedly. This clothing factory was designed by Charlotte, and it was now built exactly according to his blueprints. The effect was indeed very good.
The first batch of 300 female garment workers have completed their training and are ready to start making garments at any time.
The weather has started to get cold these past few days, and it's time to put on winter clothes.
After a moment's thought, Diana immediately decided, "We don't need to wait for him. Let's get the garment factory up and running today and get the first batch of winter clothes out before the weather gets completely cold. If we miss the deadline, they won't sell well."
"This...isn't that a bit inappropriate?" Ivan hesitated. "After all, Dr. Charlotte designed the factory and spearheaded its establishment. If we start production before he returns, what if he finds out...?"
"He's not that kind of person. I know him better than you do." Diana shook her head with a smile. "In business, personal relationships sometimes have to take a backseat, especially in the clothing industry. The production cycle is the most important thing. You've been a tailor for so many years, so you naturally know that they start ordering winter clothes in the fall. It's already a bit late to get winter clothes by now. If they keep delaying, they won't even get a taste of the profits."
Ivan nodded, knowing full well that Diana was right; it was indeed too late to start making winter clothes now.
Diana continued, "You know more about clothing manufacturing than I do, but I know more about business than you. Although I said before that I wouldn't participate in the day-to-day operations of the clothing factory, I am still one of the major shareholders. You have to listen to me on this matter. I'll talk to Charlotte when she gets back."
"Okay, I'll do as you say." Ivan nodded and made his decision immediately.
"Now you can go and tell the employees to come to work. Just say the factory production line is going into trial operation. You can decide the timing yourself. Once Charlotte comes back, we can have a big, formal opening ceremony," Diana said.
"That's a good suggestion. I'll get on it right now." Ivan nodded. He used to run a small tailor shop, and he didn't think things through as comprehensively as Diana. He would have to ask her for advice if there were any problems in the business.
"How's the progress at your textile factory?" Ivan asked curiously.
"It's almost done. The machines are still arriving at the factory one after another. I estimate we can start production in about ten days." Diana turned around and said, "Speaking of which, I'll be going now. I need to go to Calva to check on the progress of the machines."
"Okay, you go ahead with your work." Ivan nodded quickly.
……
As Charlotte expected, by evening all 1100 number plates had been issued, and many patients who hadn't gotten a number were still queuing and unwilling to leave.
After delivering ten babies, Lina immediately returned to continue seeing patients, promptly replenishing the capacity for treatment.
Even so, it was already past midnight when they received patient number 1100.
"Sir, there are still over a hundred patients outside who don't want to leave. What should we do?" Bernie asked Charlotte as he approached the operating room.
The doctors from the other operating rooms also came out, all looking exhausted.
1100 patients, which is more than 100 more than the previous two days. They were supported by their will and belief and managed not to collapse on the operating table.
But none of them complained of being tired. Looking at the patients queuing up in front of the door, their faces showed reluctance.
Most of these patients were simply dressed, with sorrowful faces. They had been queuing all day and were equally exhausted, but their eyes were full of hope.
If you have money in your pocket to see a doctor at a large clinic, why wait here in vain, knowing that the other person may leave, and still beg for this sliver of a chance?
"Why don't we let them go back and rest? Everyone's exhausted," Lois said reluctantly. She knew very well that Vivian and the others had reached their limit. If Mellen hadn't been leaning against the door frame, she probably would have been sitting on the ground by now.
"Teacher, I think I can still perform a few more surgeries," Lina said.
Connie, her face pale, looked at her, hesitated for a moment, and then nodded, saying, "I can continue to help too."
"I feel like I can keep going a little longer, even if it's just to treat one more patient," Amir said.
"I...I'll rest for a bit, I can manage too," Myron said, panting heavily. Unable to hold on any longer, he sat down on the ground and let out a long sigh.
Charlotte looked at Vivian.
Vivian pouted, "Why are you looking at me like that? If they can do it, why can't I? Stand up!"
Charlotte smiled and looked at Lois, saying, "Go arrange for some midnight snacks to be sent over here. I'll let them rest for half an hour, eat something, and then continue seeing patients until we've finished. After that, we'll set off back to the Abyss tonight."
Lois looked at everyone and suddenly felt a lump in her throat. She nodded slightly and said, "Okay, I'll make the arrangements."
Upon hearing this, the remaining patients' eyes lit up, and they immediately cheered.
The doctors were visibly exhausted, and it was thought they would leave, but they ultimately chose to stay.
Charlotte then instructed Kasha, "Kasha, give each of them half a bottle of Golden Stamina Potion to restore their stamina. Also, give Miranda and the others a bottle of Ice Blue Magic Potion to restore their magic power."
"Okay," Kasha replied and began distributing the potions to everyone.
"Boss, you're really going all out!" Vivian chuckled, clutching the potion bottle. "This is my first time drinking a Golden Stamina Potion. I never thought I'd be so exhausted that I'd need a potion."
"Just drink yours." Charlotte took her own cup, opened the lid, and gulped down a large glass of cold water.
Given his physical condition, he is only a little tired now, and more so tired from the process of repeatedly performing surgery.
After each person consumed half a bottle of Golden Stamina Potion, their mental state instantly changed, and they all became energetic and vigorous.
"Wow, this Golden Stamina Potion is so powerful! I feel like I'm back to normal!" Myron jumped up from the ground, looking incredulous.
Vivian glanced at him and said, "You're doomed. You definitely won't be able to sleep tonight, and you'll be sleeping in tomorrow."
She had half a bottle of the potion left in her hand, so she put the cap back on and put it away. Her spirits and physical strength were greatly boosted, but it didn't explode immediately.
Upon hearing this, the others also controlled their dosage of the medicine and did not drink half a bottle at once.
After all, a bottle of Golden Stamina Potion can restore 25% of the stamina of an intermediate knight. They are all weaklings, so even half a bottle is a bit too much for them.
Half a bottle is enough to boost physical and mental energy for work, and also allows for a half-hour rest. It's more than enough to handle the remaining hundred or so patients.
Before long, the late-night snack arrived.
Not only did everyone at the clinic receive a serving of fish balls, but the patients in line also got a steaming bowl of fish balls.
After a quick late-night snack, everyone had regained their energy and immediately got back to work.
The critically ill patients had already been treated in advance, and the remaining patients were not in too serious condition. However, many of them had fractures, and many of these were old injuries that had lasted for ten days to half a month, making them somewhat troublesome to treat.
I worked overtime for another two hours before finally finishing treating all the remaining patients.
Everyone who came out of the operating room couldn't help but let out a long sigh of relief.
"Alright, everyone pack your things, we're about to head back to the Abyss," Charlotte said to the group.
"Teacher, could you spare a few minutes?" Bernie stepped forward and whispered.
"What's wrong?" Charlotte asked, looking at him.
"My wife and kids are here, and I wanted to say goodbye to them," Bernie said somewhat embarrassedly. "I originally told them not to come, but she said the kids have been crying a lot these past two days and just wanted to see me one last time."
Charlotte saw an elven woman and two children standing in a corner and nodded with a smile: "Then go quickly, it's alright."
"Thank you, teacher." Bernie nodded and turned to leave.
"Wait a minute." Charlotte pulled him back and slipped two gold coins into his hand.
"What's this?" Bernie looked at him, puzzled.
"Consider this an advance on your salary; I'll deduct it next month." Charlotte patted him on the shoulder. "Tell the children you'll become an excellent doctor and come back to be their shelter."
Bernie's eyes immediately reddened. He slowly clenched the gold coin in his hand and nodded emphatically: "Thank you."
Charlotte watched him walk toward his wife and children, hearing their laughter and cries, and smiled with a sense of relief.
"Look over there, who's that?" Myron nudged Amirlo, who was packing up his first-aid kit.
Amiro turned around and froze when he saw a girl in a white dress smiling at him from under a tree not far away.
"Please tell the teacher for me, and wait for me too." Amilo closed the box and ran towards the girl under the tree.
"Why are you here? When did you arrive?" Amilo rushed up to her, his face slightly flushed, and scratched his hair as he asked.
"I've been here for a while, but I saw you were busy, so I didn't want to bother you." The girl's face was also a little flushed. "I heard they said you're leaving tonight, so I wanted to come and see you off."
"Yes, we're leaving soon." Amilo glanced back in the direction of the group, then looked at the girl with some concern: "You haven't gone home yet this late; your mother must be worried."
"And what about you? Are you worried?" The girl looked at him, a shy smile in her eyes.
"I'm worried too." Amilo nodded. "I'm worried about how you'll get home later. What if you're afraid of the dark all by yourself?"
The girl smiled, revealing her neat, white teeth: "Silly boy, I'm not afraid of the dark at all. I'm bolder than you think."
"But……"
"Amiro, let's go!" Myron's voice came.
Amiro turned around and saw that everyone had already packed their things and was looking in his direction.
"I..." Amilo turned his head, but his lips pressed against something soft. The electric sensation made his mind go blank for a moment, and then they parted.
Amiro's eyes widened as he looked at the girl whose face was flushed but whose gaze was still fixed on him, and he was speechless for a moment.
The girl looked at him and exclaimed, "The way you heal and save lives is truly captivating! I believe you can become an excellent doctor. I'll be waiting for you in the Elf City; you must come back!"
"Okay, I will definitely come back." Amilo nodded emphatically. "I will definitely come back to marry you!"
The girl smiled, her face beaming, her eyes filled with the image of the boy.
"I'm leaving, but don't rush off. I'll have Her Highness arrange a carriage to take you back, otherwise I won't feel at ease." Amir waved to her and turned to run towards the group of people in the clinic.
"Wow, this is incredible! I didn't expect the girl to take the initiative." Martha said with a teasing smile.
"That sister is too fierce, hahaha..." Vivian said with a maternal smile.
Everyone laughed and joked.
Amiro blushed even more, approached Lois, and said somewhat shyly, "Your Highness, I have a small request..."
Lois asked with a smile, "You want me to take that girl home?"
Amilo was taken aback, not expecting that his thoughts had been guessed. He nodded and said, "Yes, it's so late, it's not safe for a girl to go home alone."
"No problem, I'll arrange it." Lois nodded, then turned and summoned a female temple staff member to escort the girl home.
"Thank you," Amir said gratefully.
"You're welcome." Lois smiled and nodded, then looked at the medical staff who were ready to depart and said loudly, "Thank you all for your hard work these past four days. On behalf of the patients who have been given a new lease on life by your treatment, I would like to express my gratitude to you. Fellow elves, may you study diligently and become excellent doctors, pharmacists, and surgical assistants, and return to the Elven City as soon as possible."
All the elves looked solemn and bowed to Lois.
Their opportunity to study medicine in the Abyss was partly due to Her Highness Saintess Lois, and they will forever remember the temple's kindness.
"Thank you for your hospitality these past few days." Charlotte looked at Lois and said with a smile, "But what about the two students you promised me?"
"I almost forgot if you hadn't mentioned it. You guys have been so busy today that I haven't had a chance to introduce you." Lois slapped her forehead, turned around and looked around, then waved to the two elven girls standing in the corner.
"This is Hannah, a staff member of the temple's logistics department. She is very skillful and has excellent hands-on abilities, as well as beautiful woodworking and tailoring skills."
"This is Ragil, also a staff member of the temple's logistics department. He studied carving for three years and is mainly responsible for repairing the temple and various elven ancient sites. His carving and knife skills are excellent."
"Hello, Dr. Charlotte." The two girls greeted Charlotte respectfully, their eyes filled with admiration and anticipation.

In Kalvar, at the city lord's mansion, Anderson frowned deeply.
