Chapter 27 A Battle for Survival

Lorne switched back to the Zaku and went to the area where the elves were imprisoned. He found an empty tent and had Frostfang guard it. He then crawled into the tent, switched to his original body, and used his magic ring to become invisible.

Then, he stealthily crept up behind the guard captain, used his psionic tentacles to strangle his neck, and instantly activated his bondage ability.

[A level 1 orc has become your contracted servant.]

Lorne immediately ordered the servant to continue pretending to stand guard.

Next, he repeated the process, and his high spell strength of 19 allowed him to succeed repeatedly.

Now there is only one level 5 orc warrior and one level -2 orc left.

To be on the safe side, Lorne chose a level -2 orc with a higher success rate in contracting, and it succeeded again.

Lorne then stealthily followed the planned escape route of the elves and successfully transformed four more orcs.

After communicating the plan to rescue the elves to Nelly, Frostfang, and the orc servants via telepathy, Lorne sneaked back to the tent he had just been in, switched back to his Zaku, swaggered out, and then headed straight out of the camp.

He hadn't gone far from the camp when he flew over in a flash.

Wow, having a smart teammate makes things so much easier.

Lorne praised himself in his heart, then went into the bushes, switched back to his original body, and informed Huhu and Monteridge of the latest action plan.

Monteridge said, "Okay, I've remembered the servants. We won't accidentally hurt them."

"Accidental injuries are okay. As long as all the spirits are rescued safely, that's all that matters."

"Understood." Monteridge replied crisply.

"Alright, I'm going to challenge Gorgon then."

May the goddess bless the elves.

May the goddess bless the elves.

……

In the center of the orc camp was an arena surrounded by dozens of clan totem banners and braziers.

The soil had been stained dark brown with blood, and some damp areas were still tinged with crimson.

At this moment, two orcs are fighting fiercely in the arena.

Outside the arena, nearly half of the orcs in the camp had gathered, excitedly shouting their support.

On the north side of the arena stood a row of bloodstained banners with the heads of the defeated stuck at their tips.

Before the flagpole was a throne made from the skull of an unknown behemoth, with two massive two-handed axes, larger than orcish heavy axes, leaning against it on either side.

On the throne, an orc, nearly 4 meters tall and unusually burly, was resting his chin on one hand, yawning listlessly.

This orc is Gorgon.

Of the two orcs locked in a fierce battle, the one who is nearly 3 meters tall is his son, Goush.

[Gorush, Orc, Level 12 Barbarian (Titan Path Level 4, Battle Scar Path Level 4, Bloodstained Path Level 4), Health 400/400]

The other one, who was only 2 meters tall, was the chief of the Broken Bone Clan.

Chief Bonecrusher has come to challenge Gorgon for his freedom, but as the Great Chieftain's servant, he must first defeat a warrior before he is qualified to challenge the Great Chieftain.

With a muffled thud, Chief Bonecrusher's heavy axe was knocked out of Goush's hand and flew away.

Goush then kicked him to the ground, and before he could get up, he stomped his head on the ground.

The onlookers erupted in cheers and shouts, while only the orcs standing under the Shattered Bone Clan's battle flag lowered their heads in dejection.

Their chieftain has been defeated, which means that the Gorgon can rightfully execute the chieftain and destroy the Boneshatter clan's totem banner.

From then on, the Bonecutter clan will cease to exist, while the Darkblood clan of Gorgon will have an additional group of slaves.

Goush stomped the head of the Bonebreaker chieftain halfway into the mud, then turned to Gorgon and asked for instructions.

Gorgon rested his chin on one hand, slowly yawned, and then made a throat-slitting gesture with his other hand.

With a fanatical glint in his eyes, Goush stomped hard on the head of the Boneshatter chieftain, then released his foot, took a step back, raised his orcish heavy axe high with both hands, and brought it down with a mighty chop, severing the chieftain's head.

Blood gushed out, and the orcs watching cheered and shouted excitedly. A warrior from the Blackblood Clan ran to the sidelines, ripped off the totem banner of the Shattered Bone Clan, and threw it to Goush.

Goush stained the banner with the blood of the Bonebreaker chieftain, erased the totem symbols on it, then pierced the chieftain's head with the tip of the banner and planted it behind the throne of Gorgon, making it one of a row of banners.

This row of flags, each bearing the head of an orc chieftain, is mostly blackened with blood over time, except for the newly inserted one, which remains deep red.

The orcs of the Blackblood Clan immediately erupted in excited roars and shouts.

Gorgon grinned menacingly, took a deep breath, and shouted, "Who else?!"

The sound was like thunder, making people's eardrums ache.

The orcs quickly fell silent, their eyes darting back and forth along the edge of the arena, hoping the next challenger would appear soon and make the night less boring.

"Bloodaxe Clan, Zaku!"

A powerful roar rang out from the crowd, and the orcs immediately looked toward the source of the sound.

At the same time, the orcs under the Bloodaxe clan banner quickly parted to make way for their chieftain.

With a shield in his left hand and an axe in his right, Lorne calmly stepped into the arena under the watchful eyes of the orcs.

Gorgon, seated on the Bone Throne, frowned slightly. "What are you doing here? Didn't I send you to scout ahead for the First Chapter?"

Lorne did not answer immediately. He first walked steadily to the center of the arena, then looked up at Gorgon and said in a deep voice:

"Your mission is complete. Now it is my turn to complete my own. I, son of Zamara, the current chieftain of the Bloodaxe clan, challenge High Warchief Gorgon."

At this point, he took a deep breath and roared:

"Mogo-Kshaka!"

The next second, the Bloodaxe clan orcs roared in unison, "Mogo-Kshaka!"

Then, the orcs from other clans joined in with excited roars.

Amidst the frenzied cheers, Gorgon, seated on the Bone Throne, frowned slightly.

This Zaku is quite powerful among the chieftains and will be very important in the upcoming war.

Of all the clan chiefs, the one he least wanted to see was the Zaku launching the "Mogo-Kshaka" attack against him, which is why he entrusted him with the task of guiding the First Warband.

But now, this guy has actually come back, and in front of so many clans, he launched the "Mogo-Kshaka" attack on him.

Gorgon clenched his fists so tightly they cracked, then suddenly raised his hand, silencing the entire arena instantly. All the orcs looked at him, awaiting the Warchief's answer.

High Chieftain Gorgon shifted his position, leaning back in his chair, and arrogantly looked down at the Zaku in the arena, his voice booming like thunder as he spoke, each word distinct and clear:

"Son of Zamara, chieftain of the Bloodaxe clan, I accept your challenge, but you are already my servant. According to tradition, you must first defeat one of my men before you are qualified to fight me in the glorious Mogo-Kshaka."

"No problem, this is a good opportunity for me to warm up." Lorne's voice wasn't loud, but all the orcs in the room could hear it.

Two Blackblood Clan orcs quickly ran into the arena and dragged the headless corpse of Chief Bonebreaker out of the arena.

Goush twirled the blood-stained heavy axe in his hand, looking at Lorne with eager anticipation.

The chieftain of the Bloodaxe clan was highly respected among the orc army. If he could kill him, he would gain all his glory, and his father might even hand over the entire Bloodaxe clan to him to manage.

However, Goush knew that his eldest son was no match for Zaku, so he did not announce the start of the duel, but said in a deep voice, "Goush, you rest. Gomash, you go."

"Yes, Great Chieftain!" an elderly orc standing to the right of the Bone Throne answered loudly.

Goush stared wide-eyed at his father in disbelief, but quickly calmed down after seeing the coldness in his father's eyes.

Although his father, Gorgon, was a barbarian, he possessed wisdom no less than that of a shaman and was the chieftain he most admired and worshipped.

Goush obediently returned to his father's side, watching the elderly Gomash walk to the center of the arena, while pondering his father's intentions.

Goush knew very well that the old Gomash couldn't even beat him, so how could he possibly beat Zaku?

Then the father's reason for doing so is quite simple.

The father wanted to use Zagu to kill this old man whose prestige was second only to his own in the Blackblood Clan.

That way, no one will object to summoning demons anymore.

Having figured everything out, Goush watched Gomash's retreating figure, his smile gradually turning sinister.
